Race 1 M & M TRPOHY FACTORY DASH - C1 - 318 Gentle Jade moved out and came into contact with Sambuca Pete after the jump, causing Sambuca Pete to continue out until checked by Ginger Tyler from behind and into contact with Winsome Dough - Sambuca Pete dropped back to the rear and made no improvement from there.Cardinia Kev was slow to start, moved over to the rail, made ground to midfield but then faded in the straight. The favourite, Token Warrior, sped down the inner of the straight and took the race on the line. No 7 Ben Vegas (B & L Craik). Under stand down from W & D GRC meeting on 22.07.03.
Race 2 NORTHERN DIGITAL PHOTOFINISH DASH - C1 - 318 The favourite, Knockabout Nippa, on his debut was slow to start but recovered quickly to midfield before veering wide round bend into straight and finishing towards the rear. Smokin' Time sought to move from the outside draw after the jump and came into contact with Our Benson, causing that dog to ease back - Smokin' Time was next in contact with Winsome Eels as he continued to cross but after the impact with Winsome Eels had to scramble to regain his footing before reaching the rail. Smokin' Time showed a strong final drive down the straight to be one of the two dogs to dead-heat for second.
Race 3 MEADOWSET GRAPHICS STAKES - C1 - 527 Splicklez was positioned handy to the lead, with Melissa Bale,when the field went past the winning post for the first time and then sought to move closer to the rail, at the same time as Monty Tyler went along the inner of the track -Splicklex then straightened and checked off the back of Melissa Bale, tumbling heavily to the track.Melissa Bale pursued the pacemaker Just The Don down the straight and gathered him in just short of the line. Splicklez, who regained his feet and finished a distant last, was cleared of injury at a post race vet exam.
Race 4 THOROUGHBRED TAVERN DASH - C2 - 318 Hostile Honcho checked across Oh My Gosh after the jump, went to the lead and held. Zabenz was slow to start, settled at the rear with Oh My Gosh, then both those dogs ranged wide into the straight, stayed out wide and finished at the back of the field.
Race 5 BELLBIRD ARMS STAKES - C2 - 527 Race clear. No 4 Hot Discovery ( B Hughes). Gained start in race 8.
Race 6 THE MAD BUTCHER STAKES - C3 - 527 Six starters only with late scratching of Raise Your Glass. Race clear. No 6 Dallas Apollo ( M Earley). Rule 259. Swollen paw. Stand down 10 days to 01.08.03. VC held. No 8 Gold Jed ( D Van Meeuwen) Rule 259. Sand burn rear pads. Stand down 6 days to 28.07.03. Dog presented. VC held. LATE SCRATCHINGS No 5 Raise Your Glass ( B & L Craik). Rule 259. Race 7 McGHIE PLUMBING LTD DASH - C3/4 - 318 Five starters only with late scratching of Black Honda. Bacon Lady went quickly to the front and was not headed from there. No 3 Elite Mistress ( J B Hastie). Rule 259. Stand down 30 days to 21.08.03. No 4 Rawhiti Lad ( G C Farrell). Rule 259. Stand down 30 days to 21.08.03. No 6 Allegro Flight ( B & L Craik). Rule 259. Race 8 BELLBIRD ARMS C2 FEATURE - C2 - 527 Burali Bale established an early break on the field and held to the line. Bixby O'Shea and Hit The Turbo ran shoulder to shoulder after the jump, confining Hot Discovery up against the rail on their inner - rounding the first bend Bixby O'Shea moved out and impacted with Oxey's back legs, both dogs veered wide and lost any chance to feature in finish.The trailing Hit The Turbo also went wide when avoiding Bixby O'Shea and Oxey. No 1 Bobbymite ( B Hughes). Rule 259. Soreness left hind leg.Stand down 10 days to 01.08.03. Dog presented. VC held.
Race 9 SILVER FERNS - WORLD CHAMPIONS DASH - C5 - 318 My Toby crossed towards the rail from the outside draw nearing the end of the bend into straight, took the lead, and held decisively. Considerable jostling at the first bend, as Bradancas pushed strongly across and caused inner dogs to bunch tightly, saw Never Time and Cordu Bale particularly disadvantaged in their runs.
Race 10 RADIO PACIFIC STAKES - C4/5 - 527 Simply Red rocketed out of box 1 to take the lead and held to the line.
