Christchurch GRC - 22nd January 2024

1). Trainer R Evan's advised that GOLDSTAR LARSON had been seen by his primary Veterinarian with x-rays taken being inconclusive to any fracture. He further reported that his primary Veterinarian has requested x-rays be taken again in 2 weeks to re-assess any possible fracture with these to be reported to Stewards.

General:

1.)/ MITCHAM TIM(A Bradshaw) - was subjected to Post-Trial Sampling after winning today's re- qualifying trial.

LOVE ME TOO (5) - referred to the Veterinarian after falling at the lure where it was reported to have sustained an injury to its right calf muscle with a 10 day incapacitation issued.
Race 3	Dyna Dave @ Stud Sprint Final - C0f - 295	MAYFIELD MINX (8) - referred to the Veterinarian after falling at the lure and cleared of injury. SOLEIL (9/3) - referred to the Veterinarian after falling at the lure where it was reported to have a small laceration under its left fore paw requiring with a 10-day incapacitation issued.
Race 4	kiwikiwihounds.co.nz Adoption Stakes Heat 1 - C0q - 520 Heat 1	OPAWA VELVET (1) - referred to the Veterinarian after finishing a distance from the winner and cleared of injury. In taking this course of action Stewards were mindful of the distance from the winner and the overall time of the event.
Race 5	kiwikiwihounds.co.nz Adoption Stakes Heat 2 - C0q - 520 Heat 2	GO FLYER (1) - referred to the Veterinarian after finishing a distance from the winner and cleared of injury. A warning was placed on the greyhound's record. In taking this course of action Stewards were mindful of the greyhounds inexperience, the distance from the winner and the overall time of the event. OPAWA DANNY (5) - proved difficult to load and now will be placed on the Box First.

Race 7	American Warrior @ Stud Dash - C2 - 295	HOMEBUSH VILLA (7) - referred to the Veterinarian after sustaining a slight check entering the bend losing ground thereafter and cleared of injury.
Race 8	Cawbourne Brick at Stud Sprint - C3 - 295	HOMEBUSH JOEY (5) - referred to the Veterinarian after continuing to underperform and cleared of injury. Performance noted.

Race 10	Perera Rehoming Kennels Dash Heat 1 - C2q - 295 Heat 1
Race 11	Perera Rehoming Kennels Dash Heat 2 - C2q - 295 Heat 2	GOLDSTAR WESTERN (7) - referred to the Veterinarian falling at the lure and cleared of injury. HOMEBUSH NASH (8) - referred to the Veterinarian after preforming below market expectation and cleared of injury. Stewards will follow up the recovery of this greyhound in the coming days.
Race 12	Perera Rehoming Kennels Dash Heat 3 - C2q - 295 Heat 3	MISS MADRID (1) - referred to the Veterinarian after sustaining a check rounding the bend becoming awkward in its gallop before pulling up in the run home where it was reported to have a severe dislocation and fracture to its left hock and significant fracture to its right hock. Due to the catastrophic nature of these injuries the greyhound was humanly euthanised. GOLDSTAR HOGAN (4) - referred to the Veterinarian after sustaining a check rounding the bend and cleared of injury.
Race 13	Perera Rehoming Kennels Dash Heat 4 - C2q - 295 Heat 4	KNOW INTENT (5) - referred to the Veterinarian after sustaining a check entering the bend losing ground and cleared of injury. GOLDSTAR DANE (6) - referred to the Veterinarian after sustaining a check entering the bend losing ground and cleared of injury.
Race 14	Perera Rehoming Kennels Dash Heat 5 - C2q - 295 Heat 5	GOLDSTAR BENJI (5) - referred to the Veterinarian after sustaining a check entering the bend losing its balance and leaving the course proper. Awkward in its gallop thereafter where it was reported to have a left carpal fracture. The Greyhound was transported immediately to GRNZ's RTR program where it will undergo x-rays with this being followed up in the coming days. A 60-day incapacitation has been issued and the Greyhound must trial prior to racing again. * X-Rays confirmed no fracture however a medial ligament damage was diagnosed with the greyhound under going surgery and rehabilitation with RTR (Updated 30/1/24)*.
