Christchurch GRC - 8th November 2023

1). Stewards have followed up with GRNZ'S RTR Manager regarding the compound radius/ulna fracture sustained to BIG TIME BLAZER at this meeting. It was reported that after consultation with the on-site Veterinarian, RTR Manager, GRNZ's Welfare Manager and representatives from the Cole kennel that due to the severity of the fracture it was in the best interest of the greyhound to have it humanely euthanised.

2). Kennel representative for the J & D Fahey Kennel, Ms K Wylie, has reported that CENTURION had pulled up lame from its engagement and x-rays have confirmed a hairline fracture to its right hock. Subsequently stood down for 42 days and pending a satisfactory trial.

A warning was placed on the greyhound's racing performance. MEATLOAF (7) - referred to the Veterinarian after faltering shortly after the start losing ground with the field where it was reported to have a grade 2 tear to its left gracilis with a 21 day incapacitation issued. Connections reported the greyhound would be retired from racing.
Race 14	Gore Town & Country Club - C1 - 390	GOTCHA TIPSY (1) - referred to the Veterinarian after climbing on heels and being severely checked as a consequence entering the bend and cleared of injury. HOMEBUSH KARIN (5) - referred to the Veterinarian after being severely dragged down entering the bend and cleared of injury.
Race 15	Racing Again 15th November - C1 - 390	HOMEBUSH CHUCK (6) - referred to the Veterinarian after colliding heavily with outside runner early stages before becoming awkward in its gait and losing ground where it was reported to have a grade 1 gracilis tear with a 14 day incapacitation issued. MORE PROOF (10/4) - referred to the Veterinarian after colliding heavily with outside runner early stages losing ground however due to a communication issue this was not undertaken with Stewards to follow the recovery up with trainer B Healy in the coming days.
