Palmerston North GRC - 04 July 2023

1). Race 1 - ALLEGRO MARS (L Cole) was transferred directly to Animates Vetcare Palmerston North where x-rays confirmed multiple tarsal bone fractures. Surgery was performed on Wednesday 05 July and from there ALLEGRO MARS was transferred to the RTR facility for recovery and rehabilitation.

LUDLOW LAD (7) - referred to the Veterinarian after sustaining checks entering and exiting the first and last bends respectively and cleared of injury.

Race 8	Happy 50th Scotty Duganzich C4/5 520M - C4/5 - 520	SPACE TRON (3) - referred to the Veterinarian after sustaining a slight check entering the first bend, appearing awkward in its gallop over the concluding stages and performing below market expectation where it was reported to have a spike wound with mild swelling down its right metatarsal with a 3 day incapacitation issued.
Race 9	Lance Green Accountant PBD C4 305m - C4 - 305	BARRY BOWLER (5) - fell entering the bend. Referred to the Veterinarian where it was reported to have a minor split webbing to the top of its right front foot and a minor graze to its hip with a 7-day incapacitation issued. BIG TIME BIRDY (6) - terminally checked entering the bend falling to the track as a consequence and not finishing the event. Referred to the Veterinarian where it was reported to have a comminuted fracture of its right hind tibia and fibula. The Greyhound was transported immediately to GRNZ's contracted Veterinary Clinic for treatment with this being followed up in the coming days. A 90 day incapacitation has been issued and the Greyhound must trial prior to racing again.
