Wanganui GRC - 16th June 2023

1). Stewards have followed up the recovery of BIG TIME CURLY from its performance last week. The perceived disappointing run was put down to jostling through the event resulting in momentum loss. It was also reported that its work through the week has been pleasing and a sound showing tonight was expected although a rise in competition was noted.

General:

1). Race 6 was declared a no-race due to the safety of the greyhounds was compromised when a fallen runner remained on the track.

Race 6	Property Brokers Floyd & Toy Real Estate Wanganui Distance (Group 1) Final - C2df - 755	This race was declared a no-race due to BIG TIME EPIC(5) falling to the track entering the first bend and remaining there as the greyhounds approached the back straight the final time. This necessitated the lure driver to pull the lure up to ensure the safety of all greyhounds wasn't compromised. All greyhounds underwent a precautionary Veterinary examination upon return to the Kennels with those requiring stand downs recorded below. BIG TIME EPIC (5) - fell entering the first bend before regaining its feet and staying stationary for a period of time appearing disorientated. Referred to the Veterinarian where it was reported that the greyhound showed no clinical abnormalities and was free of injury. Stood down for the mandatory 5 days as per GRNZ Rule LR41(A)1
