General:

1). Stewards have been made aware that Licensed handler, Mr K Rance, had been engaging in the kenneling of greyhounds trained by Mr B Conner to which he has a close personal relationship with, at recent meetings when, unbeknownst to Stewards, was filling in for the Club's Lure Driver. Stewards spoke with Mr Conner surrounding the reasons this activity was being undertaken and after taking into account Mr Conner's explanation, and reviewing footage of race starts in which Mr Conner had greyhounds engaged at these meetings the matter was taken no further. Mr Conner then submitted a request to Stewards to allow Mr Rance to continue to kennel greyhounds for the up coming meetings. After taking into account the submissions tendered by Mr Conner Stewards have used their discretion under GRNZ Rule 75(1) to allow Mr Rance to kennel his greyhounds pre-race meeting.
