Palmerston North GRC - 8 February 2023

1) Trainer Mr. F Kite advised Stewards that SEDGEBROOK SALLY (race 5) was showing of soreness in her left hind leg and that he intended to freshen the Greyhound prior to her starting next. Mr. Kite was also of the opinion that SEDGEBROOK SALLY may not be suited to racing on a one turn track.
2) BIG TIME BRINDLE (M Clark) - had x-rays taken on Wednesday 8 February 2023 at Animates Vetcare Palmerston North which confirmed a fractured right hock. BIG TIME BRINDLE underwent surgery on Thursday 9 February and was transferred to GRNZ's RTR facility on Friday 10 February for rehabilitation.

General:

1) BIG TIME NUTTY (L Cole) - checked and fell during qualifying trial. Pain over proximal fibula with a suspected fracture. The Greyhound was transported to GRNZ's contracted Veterinary Clinic for treatment with this being followed up in the coming days. A 42 day incapacitation has been issued.

Race 4	Rubbish & Junk Removal PN C3 - C3 - 375	THRILLING ZIGGY (3) - referred to the Veterinarian after contacting the rail entering the home straight and cleared of injury. THRILLING MAPLE (7) - referred to the Veterinarian after receiving interference entering the bend and cleared of injury. NUTTY NUTS (8) - referred to the Veterinarian at trainers request where it was reported to have pain on pressure over the medial aspect of the distal hock with x-rays required. A 42 day incapacitation issued, required to complete a injury trial prior to racing again. Stewards will follow up in the coming days.
