Palmerston North GRC - 18 January 2023

1) C Morris kennel representative Mr. W Morris applied to Stewards pursuant with Rule 41(5) to have MR FARENHEIT examined by an officiating veterinarian to determine whether or not the Greyhound is free of injury. MR FARENHEIT was found to be not suffering from an injury with the stand down imposed on 18 January 2023 revoked pursuant with Rule 41(6).

General.

1) MR FARENHEIT (C Morris) was subjected to a swab following his veterinary examination.

Race 2	Greyhound As Pets C0 - C0 - 375	MISS FISCHER was a late scratching at kenneling when over weight. ALPHA SHELDON (1) - boxed first. TABITHA MAGIC (3) - referred to the Veterinarian after being tightened nearing the home straight, appearing to contact the rail; where it was reported to have minor spike wound right hind foot with no stand down required.
Race 3	Red Snapper Seafoods, Christchurch C0 - C0 - 457	BIG TIME VESPA (1) - referred to the Veterinarian after receiving interference on a number of occasions throughout and cleared of injury. BIG TIME TRADE (5) - referred to the Veterinarian after receiving interference on a number of occasions throughout where it was reported to have spike wound and split webbing on right hind foot and a minor laceration on left front foot with a 3 day incapacitation issued.
Race 4	Rubbish & Junk Removal PN PBD C1 - C1 - 375	BIG TIME GIFT (1) - referred to the Veterinarian after being tightened and contacting the rail entering the bend and cleared of injury.
Race 5	Paul Claridge Electrical PBD C1 - C1 - 375	SEDGEBROOK SALLY (2) - referred to the Veterinarian after fading to finish last in the home straight and cleared of injury. Stewards advised kennel representative Ms. W Kite that a warning had been placed on the Greyhound's racing record. DANGEROUS WOMAN (5) - referred to the Veterinarian after receiving a check entering the bend, losing ground and cleared of injury.
Race 6	Nightrave Greyhounds Adoption PBD C1 - C1 - 375
Race 7	Greyhounds: World's Fastest Couch Potatoes C3 - C3 - 375	MEXICAN CUTIE (2) - proved difficult to load. Trainer Mr. W Hodgson advised Stewards that MEXICAN CUTIE was having only her second start from his kennel and she had attempted to back out of the box prior to the lid being closed. Stewards will continue to monitor MEXICAN CUTIE's box manners.
Race 8	Big Barrel Palmerston North C1 - C1 - 457	JAY JAY GO (2) - boxed first. CHURN IT UP (3) - referred to the Veterinarian after becoming awkwardly placed on heels and stumbling entering the home straight and cleared of injury.
Race 9	Federal Morgan At Stud C2/C3 - C2/3 - 457
Race 10	KiwiKiwi Hounds Adoption C2 - C2 - 375	BIG TIME BRINDLE (4) - faltered, free of interference on the point of the bend, completing the event some distance last.. Referred to the Veterinarian where it was reported to have a fractured right hock . The Greyhound was transported immediately to GRNZ's contracted Veterinary Clinic for treatment with this being followed up in the coming days. A 90 day incapacitation has been issued and the Greyhound must trial prior to racing again.
Race 11	Outback Trading Company PBD C1 - C1 - 410	Stewards inspected the area of track, including conducting penotrometer readings, on the point of the bend after BIG TIME BRINDLE faltered free of interference in race 10, sustaining a fractured right hock and found it satisfactory to continue racing. There was a 5 minute delay to the start of this event due to the track inspection being carried out following race 10.
Race 12	Pups To Podiums To Pets #greyhoundlife C2 - C2 - 410	The start time of this event was changed to 3.31pm at the request of Race Day Control due to the delay in the starting of Race 11. CLAWS IN CREED (2) - boxed first.
