Judicial report: OTV: Dr. K McDermott (BVSc).

General:

1) There were no weights recorded at today's meeting due to some inconsistency when checking the scales prior to kenneling.
2) The Club will be contacting the manufacturers of the scales prior to the next meeting on Wednesday, 25th January in an effort to correct the issue.

Late Scratchings:

1) LAR GRAND OAKS (L Cole) - race 7.

Injury Trials Required:

1) CLAWS IN COBRA - race 5.

Race 1	TAB Racing Mega Multi Buster C0 - C0 - 375	JAY JAY GO (4) - boxed first. GIANT LURCH (5) - referred to the Veterinarian after appearing awkward in his action in the run to the lure and cleared of injury. SWEET HUMMER (7) - referred to the Veterinarian after contacting the rail entering the bend where it was reported to have a minor wound left hind foot and minor reaction on flexion of left front toes with a 5 day incapacitation issued. SWEET SILVER (8) - boxed first.
Race 2	Greyhound As Pets PBD C1 - C1 - 375	The start of this race was delayed by 3 minutes due to the short turnaround between races 1 and 2. BIG TIME DORA (6) - referred to the Veterinarian after being contacted from behind entering the bend, losing ground and cleared of injury. JUST LIKE LUCY (7) - referred to the Veterinarian after receiving a check entering the bend where it was reported to have a left hind toe injury with a 14 day incapacitation issued.
Race 3	Rubbish & Junk Removal PN C2/C3 - C2/3 - 457	BIG TIME BRYNLEY (3) - referred to the Veterinarian after being contacted on several occasions throughout the running and cleared of injury.
Race 4	Big Barrel Palmerston North C3/C4 - C3/4 - 457	BIG TIME RAIDER (4) - referred to the Veterinarian after heavy buffeting from BLAZIN' MASTER entering the home straight and cleared of injury. BLAZIN' MASTER (5) - referred to the Veterinarian after heavy buffeting from BIG TIME RAIDER entering the home straight where it was reported to have right triceps soreness with a 10 day incapacitation issued. RAPAKI ROCKS (7) - referred to the Veterinarian after receiving a check entering the home straight and cleared of injury.
Race 5	KiwiKiwi Hounds Adoption C3/C4 - C3/4 - 375	CLAWS IN CREED (5) - boxed first. CLAWS IN COBRA (8) - faltered, free of interference, entering the bend, and was awkward in his action thereafter completing the event some distance behind the field. Referred to the Veterinarian where it was reported to have a right hock fracture. The Greyhound was transported immediately to GRNZ's contracted Veterinary Clinic for treatment with this being followed up in the coming days. A 90 day incapacitation has been issued and the Greyhound must trial prior to racing again.
Race 6	TAB NZ - No Deductions, No Surprises C5 - C5 - 375	Stewards inspected the area of track nearing the bend after CLAWS IN COBRA faltered free of interference in race 5 sustaining a fractured right hock and found it satisfactory to continue racing. HIGHVIEW TOBY (1) - referred to the Veterinarian after contacting the hind quarters of OPAWA ZIVA entering the home straight, becoming very unbalanced and cleared of injury.
Race 7	Federal Morgan At Stud C5 - C5 - 457	LAR GRAND OAKS was a late scratching prior to arriving on course when found to be in season.
Race 8	Greyhounds Make Great Pets C5 - C5 - 410
Race 9	Outback Trading Company PBD C1 - C1 - 410	BIG TIME FAYE (4) - referred to the Veterinarian after stumbling as the start was effected where it was reported to have sand toe on left front foot with no stand down required.
Race 10	World's Fastest Couch Potatoes C4 - C4 - 375	The all clear was delayed until Stewards were afforded the opportunity to view replays to determine if two ducks that had been on the track, and took off, near the entrance to the home straight had not adversely affected the outcome of the Race. After viewing available footage Stewards were satisfied that no Greyhound had their chances diminished. BIG TIME VIOLET (3) - referred to the Veterinarian after beginning very awkwardly, losing ground as a result where it was reported to have sand toe right front and left hind feet with no stand down required.
