Auckland GRC Sunday 6 November race 6

1) - STARLIGHT RIA (E Potts) - was required to have x-rays taken following this event with x-rays revealing a possible hairline fracture and strained hock. Connections advised STARLIGHT RIA has now been retired from racing.

Late scratching:

1). SASSIE LASSIE (M & J Smith) - veterinary advice at kenneling.

Abandoned races

1). Race 6 - lure malfunction.

2). Race 10 - lure malfunction.

The club will carry out remedial work on the lure prior to racing next.

SWEET REWARDS (5) - slow away. Shifted in off heels first turn. Raced in restricted room for a distance rounding the bend. ROWDY ALL DAY (7) - briefly contacted from behind rounding the bend going back onto SWEET MIX for a distance losing ground. Veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
Race 2	CopRice Working Dog Chicken PBD Sprint - C1 - 375	SASSIE LASSIE was a late scratching at kenneling on veterinary advice for a right hind toe nail injury. KAPAI WINSTON (3) - collided after the start becoming unbalanced. HURRICANE BOB (5) - collided after the start. Steadied off heels rounding the bend. BLITZING STAR (6) - slow away. PORTLAND GRACE (8) - slow away. Raced wide.
Race 3	The Shoe Box Appeal Stakes - C1 - 457	OPAWA ANDY (2) - collided start and again soon after. Tightened making contact first turn becoming unbalanced losing ground. ABOUT TO DO (3) - collided start and again soon after. Collided first turn becoming unbalanced losing ground. BIG TIME DOUBLE (4) - jostled for a distance after the start. GIRL MARIA (6) - jostled for a distance after the start. Collided first turn becoming unbalanced losing ground. SWEET BANJO (8) - raced wide.
Race 4	Virkon*S Disinfectant PBD Sprint - C1 - 375	HOT LITTLE ZEUS (1) - tightened making contact rounding the bend. Gave ground concluding stages and was showing minor signs of cramp following the event recovering quickly. Veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. DONNING (2) - slow away. CANTON (3) - tightened and checked first turn shifting out off heels losing ground. LIVE STREAMING (4) - tightened making contact rounding the bend.
Race 5	Mayhounds Greyhound Rehoming Group Sprint - C2 - 375	SMASH SHADOW (1) - slow away. Inconvenienced first turn. FILL'S FOLLY (2) - tightened making contact for a distance back straight and rounding the first turn becoming unbalanced losing ground. OPAWA MEG (3) - tightened making contact for a distance back straight and rounding the first turn becoming unbalanced losing ground. Collided final bend then jostled final straight. LACHLAN'S GIRL (4) - tightened making contact for a distance back straight. Jostled rounding the bend losing ground. Collided final bend then jostled final straight losing ground. CLAWS IN ROCKY (5) - tightened making contact for a distance back straight and rounding the first turn becoming unbalanced losing ground. THRILLING HERBIE (6) - contact back straight. Jostled rounding the bend losing ground. NIGHTHAWK STORM (7) - contact back straight. Contact first turn becoming unbalanced. Raced in restricted room rounding the bend.
Race 6	Garrards Horse & Hound Sprint - C1/2 - 375	This race was declared a no race, and abandoned, when the lure malfunctioned rounding the first turn. All dogs were examined by the veterinarian, RAMBLIN KANE had a right whip muscle injury with a 10 day stand down imposed, and all other runners were cleared of injury. It was established a wire had broken on the lure with remedial work carried out and the lure tested prior to resuming.
Race 7	Vetora Cambridge Sprint - C3/4 - 375	LETHAL ANGEL (3) - bumped first turn. NEED PROOF (4) - bumped start. Shifted in back straight making contact. Bumped first turn. Collided final bend. MIDNIGHT FAITH (5) - bumped after the start. Collided rounding the bend. Contacted from behind final bend getting forced out into the line of PORTLAND TIMMY becoming unbalanced losing ground and falling. Regained footing to finish some distance from the field. Veterinary examination revealed right Sartorius pain with a 10 day stand down imposed. EL PADRINO (6) - slow away making contact. Contact rounding the bend. Shifted out across hindquarters final bend becoming badly unbalanced losing considerable ground. Veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. PORTLAND TIMMY (7) - slow away making contact. Raced wide making contact rounding the bend shifting wider off heels. Hampered final bend becoming badly unbalanced losing ground. OPAWA LUKE (8) - bumped after the start. Collided rounding the bend. Collided final bend. YOU READY BOOTS (9/2) - checked start losing ground. Tightened making contact back straight losing ground.
Race 8	Affordable Pet Accessories Stakes - C2/3 - 457	BRICKMAN (1) - tightened and checked first turn losing ground making contact. THREE SHIRT DAY (2) - bumped first turn giving ground. Veterinary examination revealed a minor split under right hind paw with a 7 day stand down imposed. DOUBLE MAJOR (3) - angled in first turn into the line of BRICKMAN. GREAT WORK (4) - contact start losing ground. Contacted the running rail first turn becoming unbalanced losing ground. Veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. ANGELICA (5) - unbalanced start making contact. THRILLING REGGIE (6) - unbalanced start. 2Collided rounding the bend. ANTONIO (7) - contact after the start. Bumped rounding the bend. BUCKLAND BOY (8) - bumped after the start. Collided rounding the bend.
Race 9	Nightrave Rehoming Agency for Greyhounds Sprint - C3 - 375	BIG TIME BOSTON (1) - tightened and checked first turn shifting out off heels making contact losing ground. ROMANTIC BELLE (2) - tightened start and again first turn. OPAWA ANDREW (4) - contact several occasions back straight and rounding the first turn losing ground. OPAWA GOAT (5) - bumped start. Contact several occasions back straight and rounding the first turn. OPAWA CAMERON (6) - bumped start losing ground. Checked first turn. MADE A WISH (7) - contacted from behind first turn. Shifted wide final straight losing ground. WHEELHOUSE (8) - slow away. Contact first turn.
Race 10	Mike Stent Decorators Ltd Stakes - C4/5 - 457	This event was declared a no race, and abandoned, when the lure lost power in the final straight with several runners easing affecting the outcome of the race as per rule 51.2. GEORGIA'S GIRL (1) - veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
