Palmerston North GRC - 14 October 2022

1) MANILA RAW was re-presented to the OTV pursuant with Rule 56.5 and found to not be clear of injury with the 90 day stand down imposed at this meeting continuing. Further to this, the results of the x-ray that was prescribed are still to be advised to Stewards.
2) ) An investigation has been opened and adjourned into the circumstances surrounding Lisa Cole (trainer) not presenting MANILA RAW for the required x-rays within three days of the meeting when directed to do so by Stewards on strict advice by the On Track Veterinarian.

Late Scratchings:

1) BIG TIME TEA (L Cole) - race 5.

Satisfactory Trials Completed:

1) MISS FISCHER (C Morris) - trialed in an outside blinker.
2) RIDGELINE ROCKER (G Atwood) - trialed in an outside blinker.

Warnings:

1) Handler S McInerney was issued with a warning for failing to box runners promptly.

Race 1	TAB NZ - No Deductions, No Surprises C0 - C0 - 375	AROHANUI EARLINE (1) - attempted to move up the track nearing the bend inconveniencing ALPHA SHELDON. Awkwardly placed between runners entering the bend needing to switch across heels to gain clear racing room, losing ground as a result. Raced wide through the home straight. Referred to the OTV and cleared of injury. Co-trainer S Blackburn advised Stewards that she expects AROHANUI EARLINE to derive benefit from today's race which was his first since 1 June 2022. BLUE ACHIEVER (3) - moved up the track shortly after the start bumping BIG TIME POLO. Raced wide through the home. TANIA (4) - contacted at the start. Awkwardly placed behind runners nearing the bend, becoming unbalanced, moving up the track and contacting MISS MAUDIE, losing ground as a result. Raced wide through the early stages of the home straight. Referred to the OTV and cleared of injury. ALPHA SHELDON (6) - began awkwardly contacting TANIA. Inconvenienced nearing the bend, then unbalanced entering the bend. Proved difficult to load, following discussions with handler Mr. S McInerney Stewards have placed ALPHA SHELDON on the box first list and will continue to monitor his boxing manners. BIG TIME POLO (7) - bumped shortly after the start. MISS MAUDIE (8) - slow away. Contacted entering the bend.
Race 2	Greyhound As Pets PBD C1 - C1 - 375	SWEET LUELLA (3) - placed in restricted room on the point of the bend appearing to contact the rail. Referred to the OTV and cleared of injury. BIG TIME GOAT (4) - awkwardly placed on heels entering the bend losing some momentum. Contacted PRETTY BELINDA from behind on the point of the bend becoming unbalanced and losing ground. Out of contention thereafter. PRETTY BELINDA (6) - contacted from behind on the point of the bend. AL'S CASINO (7) - awkwardly off the mats. Raced wide through the home straight. THRILLING TEMPER (8) - up 2.1 kg in weight. Trainer Mrs. K Lincoln-Papuni advised Stewards that she had changed THRILLING TEMPER's diet following a recent lung infection which increased his weight and that she was happy with his work and condition leading into today's event. Slow away.
Race 3	Big Barrel Palmerston North C0 - C0 - 457	BLUE COD (1) - contacted from behind nearing the bend, then again entering the bend losing ground. Tightened on the point of the bend, again losing ground. Raced wide through the home straight. GO NORMAN (2) - shouldered BIG TIME BRINDLE when improving to the inside of that runner nearing the bend. Bumped entering the bend. Contacted PHANTOM PIXIE from behind entering the home straight. PHANTOM PIXIE (4) - moved up the track to race wide through the back straight. Contacted from behind entering the home straight. Raced wide through the home straight. DELPHI'S ACE (5) - slow away. Moved inwards shortly after the start contacting the rail. Out of contention thereafter. Referred to the OTV and cleared of injury. BIG TIME BRINDLE (7) - shouldered with GO NORMAN nearing the bend, contacting BLUE COD and losing ground in the process. Unbalanced entering the bend contacting FROSTY ANNE. FROSTY ANNE (8) - awkwardly placed on heels entering the bend, losing ground as a result. Contacted entering the bend losing ground.
Race 4	Federal Morgan At Stud C1/C2 - C1/2 - 457	BIG TIME DREAM (1) - contacted OSCAR'S REALITY entering the home straight. ALLEGRO TICKER (2) - slow away. GRASSCUTTER JOE (4) - bumped OSCAR'S REALITY nearing the bend. Awkwardly placed entering the bend needing to switch across heels to gain clear racing room. XANTHONE (6) - moved up the track nearing the bend contacting CAREY STREET. Coursed wide entering the home straight. OSCAR'S REALITY (7) - bumped nearing the bend. Contacted entering the home straight, in turn bumping CAREY STREET. Buffeted CAREY STREET on several occasions through the latter stages of the home straight. CAREY STREET (8) - contacted nearing the bend. Bumped entering the home straight. Buffeted on several occasions through the latter stages of the home straight.
Race 5	TAB Express Payout Now Here PBD C1 - C1 - 375	BIG TIME TEA was a late scratching at kenneling on OTV advice. SPEED SKATER (3) - slow away. Coursed wide entering the home straight. PAVING WAY (8) - raced very wide throughout losing ground as a result. Referred to the OTV and cleared of injury. Trainer Mrs. L Pearce advised Stewards it was her intention to re-evaluate PAVING WAY as a racing proposition from her kennels.
Race 6	Mayhounds Rehoming Group PBD C1 - C1 - 375	DENUTO (6) - slow away. MILO TONIGHT (7) - contacted shortly after the start losing ground. Out of contention thereafter. SHAUN THE CHASER (8) - moved inwards shortly after the start contacting MILO TONIGHT. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
Race 7	Outback Trading Company C2 - C2 - 375	ALLEGRO LOVE (1) - moved up the track nearing the bend squeezing runners to her outside. Tightened and lost ground nearing the winning post. BIG TIME STAR (2) - squeezed between runners nearing the bend losing ground. Jostled, briefly, with BIG TIME SCOOTER nearing the winning post. LIBERTY TAKER (3) - squeezed between runners nearing the bend losing ground. Awkwardly placed behind runners entering the bend, becoming momentarily unbalanced as a result. Raced wide through the latter stages of the bend and home straight. THRILLING ZIGGY (4) - squeezed between runners nearing the bend. Placed in restricted room on the point of the bend losing ground. BIG TIME AUDI (5) - moved inwards nearing the bend squeezing runners to her inside. HOMEBUSH MANDY (6) - raced wide through the home straight. BIG TIME SCOOTER (7) - began awkwardly. Jostled, briefly, with BIG TIME STAR nearing the winning post.
