Investigations Concluded:

Christchurch GRC - 15th September 2022

1). Stewards have concluded their investigation in relation to the manner in which Trainers J Johnson and D Roberts conducted themselves towards another handler during the course of the meeting. After taking into account the statements tendered by all parties along with evidence from witnesses both Mr Johnson and Mr Roberts were spoken to advisedly and reminded of their professional obligations when attending a race meeting.

HOMEBUSH LEANA (7) - muzzle detached from nose while in the boxes. Shouldered briefly with HOMEBUSH LOVELY early stages.
Race 2	christchurchgreyhounds.co.nz PBD Dash - C1 - 295	HOMEBUSH VALDEN (1) - placed in restricted room entering the bend. DIAMOND CHIPPER (2) - forced down the track early stages. Placed in restricted room entering the bend clipping the heels of ANGRY PETE and losing ground. Contacted the hindquarters of RYDER'S AAMBITION exiting the bend. ANGRY PETE (3) - heels clipped entering the bend losing ground. HOMEBUSH SAINT (5) - checked entering the bend making contact with RYDER'S AMBITION losing ground as a consequence. RYDER'S AMBITION (6) - slow early. Checked entering the bend losing momentum. Hindquarters contacted from the inside exiting the bend shifting up the track to bump with LUCKY LUCIANO. AGENT NAVABI (7) - coursed wide exiting the bend. LUCKY LUCIANO (8) - forced wide rounding the bend. Contacted from the inside exiting the bend.
Race 3	Bolty @ Stud PBD Sprint - C1 - 295	IMPRESSIVE CRUSH (1) - pushed up the track rounding the bend when GOLDSTAR WADE improved into a marginal run. HARRY BAXTER (2) - awkwardly placed on heels approaching the bend having to check and lose ground. Again awkwardly placed on heels rounding the bend. HOMEBUSH EGGMAN (3) - awkwardly placed on heels entering the bend before being dragged down losing its chance. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury. HOMEBUSH SHADY (4) - stewards questioned the improved performance of this runner with kennel representative J McInerney Jnr advising the greyhound had benefitted from a short spell and an unimpeded run in front. COUSTEAU (5) - lost momentum when awkwardly positioned to the outside of runners entering the bend. GOLDSTAR WADE (7) - awkward away. Hampered entering the bend. Forced IMPRESSIVE CRUSH up the track when improving into a marginal run rounding the bend. OPTIONAL EXTRA (8) - slow early. Coursed wide rounding the bend.
Race 4	Amber Cleaning Services Stakes - C1/2 - 520	GOLDSTAR DARWIN (3) - obligated to check off heels in the run to the first bend. KNOW WILL (4) - shifted up the track early stages colliding with CALL THE TUNE. IDOL FIRST (5) - slow early before checking off the heels of KNOW WILL. Awkwardly placed on heels approaching the first bend. MEATLOAF (6) - slow early before checking off the heels of KNOW WILL. EPIC QUEEN (7) - shifted down the track abruptly early stages. Referred to Veterinarian where it was reported to have a split webbing on its 5th toe left hind leg with a 10 day incapacitation issued. CALL THE TUNE (8) - collided with KNOW WILL early stages.
Race 5	Clarkson's Sign Studio PBD Dash - C1 - 295	SMASH GRENADE (2) - jostled briefly with HOMEBUSH TESSA entering the bend. HOMEBUSH ABBY (3) - boxed first. HOMEBUSH TESSA (4) - jostled briefly with SMASH GREADE entering the bend. HOMEBUSH MAKAYLA (5) - slow early. TANE MAHUTA (6) - placed in restricted room entering the bend having to check.
Race 6	mayhounds.org.nz Rehoming Group PBD Sprint - C1 - 295	OFF GRID (4) - shouldered with DIAMOND LEAHA early stages. DIAMOND LEAHA (5) - shouldered with OFF GRID early stages. OPAWA LILLY (6) - slow early. HOMEBUSH SNOW (8) - slow early.
Race 7	American Warrior @ Stud Stakes - C1/2 - 520	OPAWA PICK (2) - hindquarters raced on briefly in the run to the first bend. Referred to the Veterinarian after falling at the lure and finding its way into the infield. Cleared of injury. CLAWS IN LEO (3) - hindquarters raced on early stages. KNOW HURRY (4) - shifted off heels entering the first bend. GOLDSTAR VARGAS (5) - crowded early stages. REPLICA ROSCO (6) - forced down onto the hindquarters of CLAWS IN LEO early stages. TOBY MCGILL (7) - slow early. MY CURLY (8) - briefly contacted the hindquarters of OPAWA PICK in the run to the first bend.
Race 8	Steve Anngow Drapes & Blinds Ph0272719588 PBD Dash - C1 - 295	HALSWELL HUSTLE (1) - raced in tight quarters rounding the bend contacting GOLDSTAR YANKEE. HOMEBUSH RED (2) - raced on the hindquarters of GOLDSTAR YANKEE early stages before being obligated to check off heels and lose momentum. GOLDSTAR YANKEE (3) - hindquarters raced on early stages. Contacted from the outside prior to exiting the bend.
