Stewards opened and adjourned an inquiry into the handling of ROCK ON ANNIE(G Fredrickson) leading into the late scratching of this runner.

Late Scratchings:

Shifted outwards off heels in early stages colliding with the hindquarters of NOT SO SIMPLE. Lost ground when crowded entering the bend. Shifted outwards prior to exiting the bend being dragged down by HE'S ALI and losing its chance. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury. NOT SO SIMPLE (6) - shifted inwards across heels early stages having it hindquarters raced on by GOLDSTAR GIGI as a consequence. HE'S ALI (7) - hampered and obligated to climb on the heels of GOLDSTAR GIGI prior to exiting the bend. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury. CLAWS IN MARVEL (8) - coursed wide throughout the run to the bend. Contacted from the inside entering the bend losing ground.
Race 2	Greyhound As Pets Feature R/A - R/A - 457	GO JOHNNY GO (1) - clipped the heels of ALLEGRO ZIPPY entering the bend. ALLEGRO ZIPPY (2) - heels clipped entering the bend. HIGHVIEW SAMMY (4) - slow to jump. OPAWA CHRISSY (5) - hampered and lost ground entering the bend.
Race 3	Creative Catering Feature C2 - C2 - 457	ROCK ON ANNIE(8) - was a late scratching after being found to be in season upon retrieval from the kennels. BIG TIME DOUBLE (1) - crowded and lost ground approaching the bend. MAD WORLD (4) - shouldered with BIG TIME JOY early stages. Shifted across heels in the run to the bend. BIG TIME JOY (5) - shouldered with MAD WORLD early stages.
Race 4	Nancy Cobain (Group 2) Distance Final - C2df - 720	BORING (2) - referred to the Veterinarian by connections after being found to have sand burn to its left hind foot with a 14 day incapacitation issued. HIGHVIEW NESS (5) - shifted outwards across heels in the run to the first bend. Coursed wide through the back straight. NANGAR RIDGE (7) - weakened late in the run home. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury.
Race 5	Red Snapper Seafoods, Christchurch Feature C4 - C4 - 457	BROKE BRAD (1) - shouldered briefly with SPEED MACHINE early stages. SPEED MACHINE (2) - shouldered briefly with BROKE BRAD early stages. Bumped with MANDY JEWEL entering the bend. GOLDSTAR YANKEE (3) - came up slightly with the lid and was last to jump as a consequence. BIG TIME ELSA (4) - awkwardly placed between runners rounding the bend. Coursed wide throughout the run home. MANDY JEWEL (8) - bumped with SPEED MACHINE entering the bend losing momentum.
Race 6	Big Barrel Palmerston North Feature C5 - C5 - 457	BRONSKI BEAT (1) - awkwardly placed on heels entering the bend. Terminally checked rounding the bend. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury. BEE LUCKY BANJO (2) - hindquarters raced on approaching the bend. Shouldered with NOT EVEN OWL entering the bend. THRILLING MURPHY (3) - raced on the hindquarters of BEE LUCKY BANJO approaching the bend. Crowded and obligated to evasively check off heels rounding the bend colliding with BIGTIME STUNNER which in turn terminally checked BRONSKI BEAT. BIG TIME STUNNER (4) - slow early. Checked rounding the bend in turn terminally checking BRONSKI BEAT. NOT EVEN OWL (5) - shouldered with BEE LUCKY BANJO entering the bend.
Race 7	Manawatu Cup Feature Final - C5f - 457	GOLDSTAR LINDA (1) - crowded entering the bend being terminally checked. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury. TALBINGO BALE (2) - hindquarters raced on early stages being turned inwards as a consequence. Placed in restricted room entering the bend being dragged down and losing ground. Referred to the Veterinarian however due to a communication breakdown this was not undertaken. Stewards will follow up the recovery with trainer A Roberts in the coming days. OPAWA WAYNE (3) - heavily contacted early stages being placed in restricted room. Severely checked entering the bend. THRILLING RISK (5) - collided with OPAWA WAYNE early stages placing this runner into tight quarters. Terminally checked entering the bend. TEKKI JIM (6) - hampered entering the bend. Faltered in the run to the lure and referred to the Veterinarian where it was reported to have a fractured right hock with a 90 day incapacitation issued. BIG TIME HARLEY (8) - hampered entering the bend.
Race 8	Outback Trading Company Feature C5 - C5 - 410	XANTHONE (1) - crowded and lost ground entering the bend. OPAWA PHIL (3) - checked and lost ground entering the bend. BIG TIME VEGAS (4) - checked and lost ground entering the bend. BIG TIME PRADA (6) - forced down the track and into tight quarters in the run to the bend. BIG TIME RIPPER (8) - shouldered briefly with BIG TIME VEGAS entering the bend.
Race 9	Greyhounds Make Great Pets Sprint Final - C5f - 410	OPAWA GYPSY (3) - hindquarters brushed approaching the bend being turned inwards as a consequence. Squeezed for racing room entering the bend losing ground. AGENT LEVI (4) - brushed the hindquarters of OPAWA GYPSY approaching the bend. Squeezed for racing room entering the bend losing ground. BEES AND BIRDS (6) - shouldered with TYPHOON TIM exiting the bend. TYPHOON TIM (7) - shouldered with BEES AND BIRDS exiting the bend.
Race 10	Total Bodyshop Supplies Feature C4 - C4 - 410	ALLEGRO PEACHES (1) - began awkwardly. Crowded entering the bend. BIG TIME STAR (3) - jostled with BIG TIME MUHAMAD in the run to the bend. Placed in restricted room entering the bend losing its footing and falling to the track. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury. Stood down for 5 days as a precaution. BIG TIME MUHAMAD (5) - checked in off heels early stages. Jostled with BIG TIME STAR in the run to the bend.
Race 11	Nightrave Greyhounds Adoption Feature C3 - C3 - 410	BIG TIME LEBRON (1) - began awkwardly. Placed on heels rounding the bend shifting out onto the hindquarters of BIG TIME HOTSHOT. BIG TIME JIMMY (4) - crowded and raced on the hindquarters of OPAWA OLIVER entering the bend losing ground as a consequence. OPAWA OLIVER (5) - turned outwards slightly entering the bend when crowding the racing room of BIG TIME JIMMY. BIG TIME HOTSHOT (6) - hindquarters contacted on jumping and again entering the bend losing ground from the later. CHECK ME OUT (7) - contacted the hindquarters of BIG TIME HOTSHOT on jumping when shifting down the track abruptly.
Race 12	World's Fastest Couch Potatoes Feature C3 - C3 - 410	GOLDSTAR RICKY (1) - came up with the lid and missed the jump significantly. THRILLING OTIS (5) - dictated down the track early stages. Awkwardly placed on heels entering the bend. OPAWA VIOLET (6) - heels clipped entering the bend.
