Special Report.

This meeting was run under Level 3 Government restrictions and Greyhound Racing New Zealand Work Safe Covid-19 protocols.

General:

1) - T Green was authorised to drive the lure for the entirety of the meeting.

2) - Only side on footage was available for the purposes of reporting.

3) - Starter G Sharp provided a MoH exemption from wearing a mask.

4) - A false start was declared in race 4 (527m) when the boxes failed to open. It was determined there was an issue with the sensor which was rectified and the boxes tested prior to restarting the event. All runners were examined by the veterinarian and cleared to race.

5) - There was a slight delay to the start of race 5 due to temporary power loss to the lure during stir ups. The lure was tested to satisfaction prior to this event.

Fines:

1) - H Mullane - Presented the incorrect greyhound for a qualifying trial $300.00

Trial:

1) - MAJOR MARGARET (T & L Craik) race 9 - Injury trial required prior to resuming.

Race 2	Mayhounds Greyhound Rehoming Group Sprint - C1 - 318	ZIPPING SPOOK (1) - shifted out off heels back straight making contact. Tightened and checked first turn losing ground. GINNY GIN (2) - collided after the start. Inconvenienced first turn steadying off heels. BIG TIME AMERICA (4) - collided after the start. Solid contact first turn becoming badly unbalanced losing ground. BARNEY PARROT (5) - collided several occasions after the start. SABALAN (8) - slow away. Solid contact first turn becoming badly unbalanced losing ground.
Race 3	Mt Wellington TAB Sprint - C5 - 318	ZIPPING SAINT (1) - tightened and hampered back straight losing ground. Steadied off heels first turn. ZIPPING DEREK (2) - tightened and hampered for a distance back straight contacting the running rail. Bumped final straight. Veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration on the left elbow with no stand down required. GOLDEN FERN (4) - tightened and checked back straight. Shifted out off heels first turn. WHEELS ON FIRE (5) - bumped start then angled in making contact for a distance back straight. PORTLAND ECKLUND (7) - contact start. Tightened and checked first turn losing ground. BASELINE (8) - bumped first turn and again final straight.
Race 4	Pump & Engineering Services Ltd Stakes - C1 - 527	A FALL GRACEFULLY (1) - shifted out off heels first turn. OPAWA TRUMP (2) - jostled rounding the first turn. Shifted wider final straight. OPAWA KIRK (3) - slow away. Dictated wider final straight. OPAWA BIG (5) - collided start. Jostled rounding the first turn. EYE SPY LUNA (6) - checked start. GEORGIA'S GIRL (7) - collided start then came together with OPAWA LIGHTNING.
Race 5	Jo's Wholesale & Sports Bar Taipa Tavern Sprint - C3 - 318	CALL ME LEO (1) - raced wide into the final straight. GO AHEAD CALLER (2) - slow away. Held up rounding the bend shifting out off heels final straight. OPAWA SLICK (4) - bumped after the start. Inconvenienced final straight getting taken inwards. PORTLAND BERRY (6) - collided after the start. Shifted out off heels first turn then raced wide. START BAILING (7) - tightened and hampered after the start losing ground. HOUSE SURGEON (8) - collided after the start.
Race 6	Hewlett Electrical Sprint - C4 - 318	FERNANDO CHARM (1) - contact start. Hampered first turn getting on hindquarters losing considerable ground. PORTLAND WONDER (2) - contact start. PORTLAND BLONDE (3) - slow away. MITCHAM GREG (4) - contact start. Got on heels first turn becoming unbalanced losing considerable ground. MARCUS (5) - contact start. Dragged down first turn losing ground.
Race 7	MPS Fencing Stakes - C1/2 - 527	BIG TIME EDEN (1) - bumped final bend then contacted from behind losing ground. OPAWA DELIGHT (2) - collided leaving the back straight losing ground. THEA WHO (3) - collided after the start. Contact rounding the bend leaving the back straight losing ground. FIRST LIGHT (4) - tightened and hampered after the start losing ground. Jostled rounding the first turn. Steadied when tightened leaving the back straight. Tightened between runners final bend making contact. ZIPPING LOCKETT (6) - collided several occasions after the start. Jostled rounding the first turn. Checked rounding the bend into the back straight. Collided leaving the back straight. Contact final bend. SERBIAN ACE (7) - slow away then checked after the start shifting in off heels. Hampered rounding the bend leaving the back straight losing ground. Held up final bend. BLACK MAVIS (8) - collided after the start. Hampered rounding the bend leaving the back straight losing ground.
Race 8	Carol's TAB Taipa Tavern Stakes - C4/5 - 527	DOBBY WHO (1) - inconvenienced rounding the first bend. ZIPPING HEWITT (2) - bumped after the start. Tightened first turn shifting out off heels into the line of FEDERER becoming unbalanced. Tightened and checked rounding the first bend. DANISH DELIGHT (4) - contact start losing ground. Contact rounding the first bend. THRILLING FREDDY (5) - bumped start and again racing toward the first turn. FEDERER (7) - dictated inwards entering the first turn then hampered getting on heels losing ground. Contact rounding the first bend. PORTLAND DREAM (8) - angled in racing into the first turn making contact.
Race 9	Sportsbowl Function Centre Sprint - C1/2 - 318	ALLEGRO BERKLEY (1) - contact start. Tightened and checked rounding the first bend. Checked rounding the bend shifting out off heels. FOR YOU PAGE (2) - tightened and checked start. Checked first turn. BIG TIME FELIX (3) - shifted in after the start. MAJOR MARGARET (5) - jostled for a distance after the start losing ground. Gave ground rounding the first turn losing contact with the field. Veterinary examination revealed the right hip support to be torn with a 42 day stand down imposed. MAJOR MARGARET will be required to complete a solo trial prior to resuming. LUCY MIRKO (6) - jostled for a distance after the start. Jostled rounding the bend. BIG TIME JEWEL (7) - collided for s distance back straight. Jostled rounding the bend. PORTLAND ART (8) - checked first turn.
