Wanganui GRC - 14 May 2021

1) Stewards were advised that GOTCHA MARSHALL was found to have lameness in the right hind leg following this meeting and the kennel has referred GOTCHA MARSHALL for x-rays.

General.

1) No weights were recorded as there were discrepancies with the scales when tested by Stewards during kenneling. Stewards have contacted the club and requested an update on how they intend to address this issue.

Greyhound Actions.

1) Trainer M Goodier applied for 10 clear runs for CUMBRIA LAD.

BIG TIME ADISON (3) - bumped at the start. Contacted from behind shortly after the start. Contacted ADOBE BROOKE from behind entering the bend. Tightened ADOBE BROOKE on the point of the bend. FRECKLE (4) - bumped shortly after the start, then contacted BIG TIME ADISON from behind. Raced wide through the bend and home straight. POP FLASH (5) - began awkwardly. Bumped BIG TIME BLAIR shortly after the start. ADOBE BROOKE (6) - bumped FRECKLE shortly after the start. Contacted from behind and dragged entering the bend. Tightened on the point of the bend. A post race veterinary examination was carried out which revealed no injuries. BIG TIME BLAIR (7) - slow away. Bumped shortly after the start.
Race 2	Big Barrel Palmerston North C0 - C0 - 457	WAITING GAME was a late scratching with diarrhea. BIG TIME CLOVER (1) - moved up the track shortly after the start contacting BIG TIME AUBREY. BIG TIME CHASE (3) - began awkwardly. BIG TIME AUBREY (5) - contacted shortly after the start. Tightened BIG TIME TASTY entering the bend. Raced very wide through the home straight. BIG TIME TASTY (6) - tightened entering the bend losing ground as a result. BIG TIME BERT (7) - slow away and angled to the rail at the start.
Race 3	Graeme Hayden Homes Memorial Cup C1 - C1 - 457	JUST LIKE LUCY (2) - contacted at the start. Contact from behind shortly after the start. Awkwardly placed between runners nearing the home straight losing some ground. BIG TIME REHAN (3) - began awkwardly contacting JUST LIKE LUCY. Placed in restricted room shortly after the start becoming unbalanced and contacting JUST LIKE LUCY from behind. Brushed SWEENEY TODD nearing the home straight becoming awkwardly placed behind UNCLE ALBERT and losing ground. A post race veterinary examination was carried out which revealed no injuries. SWEENEY TODD (4) - slow away, then moved up the track to race very wide through the back straight. Brushed BIG TIME REHAN nearing the home straight. JETLAG JAG (5) - bumped shortly after the start, then placed in restricted room losing ground. BIG TIME ATOMIC (6) - bumped JETLAG JAG shortly after the start, then tightened. ALLEGRO RUBY (7) - tightened shortly after the start. Bumped UNCLE ALBERT nearing the bend, then raced wide for the remainder of the event. UNCLE ALBERT (8) - tightened ALLEGRO RUBY and BIG TIME ATOMIC shortly after the start. Bumped nearing the bend.
Race 4	J P Print, Petone C1/C2 - C1/2 - 457	GAZZA'S GIRL (2) - attempted to move up the track nearing the bend heavily contacting HAIDEE BALE. Raced wide for the majority of the event. A post race veterinary examination was carried out which revealed no injuries. FREEDOM LEAGUE (3) - bumped shortly after the start. Brushed BATTLE CRUISER nearing the bend. Brushed BIG TIME MASON nearing the winning post. BIG TIME MASON (4) - tightened shortly after the start. Brushed FREEDOM LEAGUE nearing the winning post. STAY CONNECTED (5) - slow away. Awkwardly placed behind runners nearing the bend. HAIDEE BALE (6) - tightened shortly after the start then bumped BIG TIME SCOOTER. Heavily contacted nearing the bend, in turn contacting BIG TIME SCOOTER and lost ground. A post race veterinary examination was carried out which revealed no injuries. BATTLE CRUISER (8) - angled across the field tightening or bumping several runners to his inside. Brushed BATTLE CRUISER nearing the bend. BIG TIME SCOOTER (9/7) - bumped shortly after the start. Contacted nearing the bend and forced wider as a result.
Race 5	Red Snapper Seafoods, Christchurch C3/C4 - C3/4 - 457	BIG TIME FRANKIE (2) - placed in restricted room nearing the home straight. BIGTIME BRODY (3) - tightened entering the bend losing ground. Raced wide through the latter stages of the home straight. NANGAR RIDGE (4) - tightened BIGTIME BRODY entering the bend, losing ground in the process. ENTREE ONLY (8) - raced wide for the majority of the event.
Race 6	Paul Claridge Electrical C4/C5 - C4/5 - 457	AKASHI BOY (1) - tightened on the point of the bend. Squeezed BIG TIME ELSA nearing the home straight. BIG TIME HARLEY (2) - squeezed BIG TIME ELSA nearing the home straight. BROKE BRAD (3) - moved up the track nearing the bend contacting SUB TWENTY THREE. BIG TIME ELSA (4) - tightened AKASHI BOY on the point of the bend. Squeezed between runners nearing the home straight, losing ground and moving up the track racing wide thereafter. SO EXCITED (5) - brushed SUB TWENTY THREE at the start. SUB TWENTY THREE (6) - brushed SO EXCITED at the start. Contacted nearing the bend. RHODES WORTHY (7) - slow away. Raced wide throughout.
Race 7	Bigtime Paddy at Stud C4 - C4 - 410	BIG TIME HAZEL (1) - wide through the home straight. BIG TIME JEWEL (2) - buffeted nearing and entering the bend eventually losing ground. BIG TIME JIMMY (3) - buffeted BIG TIME JEWEL nearing and entering the bend, becoming unbalanced and lost ground. FREE THINKER (5) - bumped BIG TIME GWYN nearing the bend. Squeezed BIG TIME GWYN entering the bend. Dictated the running line of BIG TIME GWYN through the bend. Raced wide through the home straight. BIG TIME GWYN (6) - bumped nearing the bend, then squeezed between runners entering the bend. Had running line dictated by FREE THINKER and obliged to race wide through the bend. BEES AND BIRDS (8) - raced wide through the back straight. Squeezed BIG TIME GWYN entering the bend. Raced wide through the latter stages of the bend and home straight.
Race 8	Total Bodyshop Supplies C3/C4 - C3/4 - 410	BIG TIME LEBRON (1) - moved up the track nearing the bend inconveniencing ELECTRICAL STORM then bumping BIG TIME TINA. SCREAMING VIKING (2) - slow away. BIG TIME DOMINO (3) - bumped ELECTRICAL STORM nearing the bend. BIG TIME IZZY (4) - tightened entering the bend losing ground. ELECTRICAL STORM (5) - bumped nearing the bend, then inconvenienced. BIG TIME TINA (6) - moved across heels shortly after the start bumping OTIS. Bumped nearing the bend, in turn contacting OTIS, losing ground. A post race veterinary examination was carried out which revealed no injuries. BIG TIME SPOT (7) - tightened BIG TIME IZZY entering the bend. OTIS (8) - slow away. Bumped shortly after the start. Contacted nearing the bend. A post race veterinary examination was carried out which revealed no injuries, however the veterinarian found sand in his quick and advised that this could have had an affect on the Greyhounds performance.
Race 9	Outback Trading Company C1/C2 - C1/2 - 410	There was a slight delay to the start of this race due to a short 15 minute gap between races 8 and 9. BIG TIME BOOTS (1) - buffeted nearing the bend. Moved up the track through the bend to race wide thereafter. BIG TIME MAY (2) - began awkwardly. Raced very wide through the bend and home straight. BIG TIME DIOR (4) - bumped shortly after the start. Buffeted BIG TIME BOOTS nearing the bend then tightened entering the bend becoming unbalanced and bumping SLIPPERY SUZIE. GO BRO (5) - brushed BIG TIME EMMI at the start and moved down the track bumping BIG TIME DIOR. Tightened BIG TIME DIOR entering the bend. BIG TIME EMMI (6) - brushed GO BRO at the start. SLIPPERY SUZIE (7) - bumped entering the bend. BOUND UP (8) - slow away.
Race 10	PNGRC Sectional Times @ pngreyhounds.kiwi C1 - C1 - 410	There was a slight delay to the start of this event due to the delayed start in race 9. LITTLE SCAMP (2) - bumped entering the bend. Contacted PENNY MOWHAWK nearing the home straight when attempting to move up the track. Bumped HOMEBUSH SURGEON entering the home straight. FATHER LEO (3) - tightened entering the bend losing ground. Awkwardly placed behind runners entering the home straight needing to move across heels to gain clear racing room. PENNY MOWHAWK (4) - tightened nearing the bend losing ground. Contacted nearing the home straight. HOMEBUSH SURGEON (5) - awkwardly placed behind runners shortly after the start needing to move up the track to gain clear racing room, losing ground in the process. Bumped entering the home straight. ADOBE TURTLE (6) - tightened PENNY MOWHAWK nearing the bend, then tightened FATHER LEO entering the bend. BIG TIME HARRY (7) - coursed very wide entering the home straight.
