Waikato GRC 15 April 2021

1). The J.C.A received a Review lodged by Mrs L Cole against a decision handed down by the Racing Integrity Unit Stewards at Waikato GRC's Meeting on the 15th April 2021. The Stewards determined, under the provisions of Greyhound Racing New Zealand's Rule 55.1.a, that her greyhound “MURMUR” had Marred during the running and was subsequently stood down for 3 months (second offence) and ordered to undergo a satisfactory trial prior to being nominated for any further races. At the hearing held today at Manawatu raceway today the J.C.A, having viewed the replay vision and taking into account evidence tendered by Stewards and kennel representative Mr B Cole, ruled that due to inconclusive video evidence the review was successful.

Stand down.
1) TUFF ADMIRAL( B Mitchell ) was stood down for 3 months ( second offence ) failing to pursue in race 1.

Satisfactory Trials:

1). TIDDY CASH (J McInerney) - satisfactory trial required for unsatisfactory performance Race 3.

2). NOVA WILLOW (L Cole) - solo trial required.

1) Late Scratching.

BIG TIME LANTAO ( L Cole ) was a late scratching at pre race presentation on vets advice.

Race 1	greyhoundtips.co.nz C0 - C0 - 457	TUFF ADMIRAL (1) - turned his head outwards racing from the start when clear of runners. He was then contacted as runners were forced across onto him resulting in him being checked. Soon after he attempted to angle outwards making contact with and checking SMOKIN' SCAMPI. He angled wide in the run onto the top bend ,then angled inwards racing to the home turn. He was referred to the vet under the conduct policy and cleared of injury .He has been stood down for 3 months ( failing to pursue ) second offence and to the completion of a satisfactory trial. BIG TIME VERSACE (2) - severely tightened and checked racing from the start, but was able to quickly recover to head towards the lead. SMOKIN' SCAMPI (3) - began awkwardly and was severely tightened and checked back losing initial momentum. He was bumped again in the run to the bend, and further hampered racing into the bend. Hampered again for a stride or so turning in. BIG TIME REHAN (4) - angled across sharply from the jump causing severe tightening to runners to his inner for several strides. TUFF DYNAMO (9/7) - contact and tightened racing from the start being checked back.
Race 2	Greyhound As Pets C1 - C1 - 457	GAZZA'S GIRL (1) - went up in the boxes slightly as the lids lifted. Soon after she angled outwards between runners as is her customary racing style racing wide thereafter. DOUBLE HEADER (3) - racing towards the bend she bumped and jostled with ALLEGRO RUBY for some strides. ALLEGRO RUBY (4) - racing to the bend she bumped and jostled with DOUBLE HEADER for some strides. SUMMER GLEE (6) - contact in the hindquarters soon after the start. UNCLE ALBERT (7) - angled across soon after the start contacting the hindquarters of SUMMER GLEE. Dictated wide entering the bend. was held up racing into the home straight when looking to clear heels. SWEENEY TODD (8) - began awkwardly and was slow into stride. He settled back and wide.
Race 3	Creative Catering C1/2 - C1/2 - 457	TIDDY CASH (1) - only fairly away. Was unable to improve throughout the running. Assessed by the vet and cleared of injury. Stood down to complete a satisfactory trial per Rule 38.9 due to unsatisfactory performance. ALLEGRO PIPPA (2) - tightened into the bend losing some momentum and ground. ARM TURNER (3) - hampered for a few strides in the run across the top bend when looking to clear heels. BIG TIME DIOR (4) - dwelt slightly at the jump. Soon after angled out across heels settling in the midfield tightened between runners in the run towards the home turn angling outwards extremely wide thereafter to the line. Assessed by the vet and cleared of injury. BIG TIME BRYNN (5) - angled inwards from the jump slightly hampering BIG TIME DIOR for a stride or so. Angled across into the bend tightening ALLEGRO PIPPA into the bend.
Race 4	Bigtime Paddy at Stud C3/C4 - C3/4 - 457	BIG TIME MAC (2) - fav- bumped and jostled for some strides in the run to the bend. He came back off heels and lost ground in the run across the top bend. BIG TIME FELIX (3) - tightened between runners soon after the start being bumped and jostled for some strides, was then tightened back into the bend. ALLEGRO TAMMY (4) - checked and tightened soon after the start being dictated inwards jostling with runners to her inner for some strides. NOVA WILLOW (5) - racing from the start she angled across sharply causing checks and tightening to runners to her inner. Worked her way to lead into the bend. She was several lengths clear in the lead when faltering on the top bend and pulled up short of the winning post. Assessed by the vet and was found to have a fracture to the hind hock. A splint was fitted, pain relief administered. A solo trial is required before resuming. FINE INTENTION (6) - racing from the start she was bumped and jostled for some strides as RHODES WORTHY angled across. RHODES WORTHY (9/7) - angled across sharply from the jump jostling with FINE INTENTION for several strides.
Race 5	Red Snapper Seafoods, Christchurch C4/C5 - C4/5 - 457	Stewards inspected the area of track nearing the point of the bend after NOVA WILLOW faltered free of interference in the previous race sustaining a fractured hock and found it safe to continue racing. SPEED MACHINE (2) - went up in the boxes as the lids lifted and settled back BIG TIME FRANKIE (8) - began awkwardly. Made ground up along the inner to race handy around the bend. He weakened in the latter stages to the line.
Race 6	J P Print, Petone C1 - C1 - 410	XANTHONE (1) - fav- began awkwardly, quickly recovered into stride. Bumped and jostled with ADOBE TURTLE as this runner was dictated inwards for some strides racing into the bend losing several lengths. ADOBE GIRL (2) - began awkwardly for a stride or so. Crowded for a couple of strides in the run into the bend. ADOBE TURTLE (3) - tightened in onto XANTHONE and jostled for some strides then checked back losing ground racing into the bend. JUST LIKE LUCY (4) - bumped and unbalanced for a stride or so racing from the start. SLAM IT (6) - checked jumping away from the boxes as BUDDY LOADED ran inwards. He settled back in the running. BUDDY LOADED (7) - jumped across checking SLAM IT as they left the boxes. He angled across to lead into the bend causing tightening to runners to his inner.
Race 7	Paul Claridge Electrical NZ Bred C1 - SPEC - 410	HOMEBUSH VASSY (1) - landed awkwardly for a stride out of the boxes. he was then checked and changed ground outwards running into the hind of JETLAG JAG. He then angled back inwards across the line of GOLDSTAR SHARON and made good ground thereafter . GOLDSTAR SHARON (2) - fav- began awkwardly and was slow into stride. Checked and lost more ground in the run into the bend. Forced to change ground outwards between runners when making good ground racing widest into the home straight. BIG TIME EMMI (3) - began awkwardly for a stride or so, but was quickly into stride. HERE'S HEMI (4) - checked racing from the start as LUCY LINGERS angled in across his line. LUCY LINGERS (5) - angled across the line of HERE'S HEMI racing from the start. Racing to the bend she was crowded between runner's into the bend losing some momentum and ground. Weakened back to the rear in the run to the line. JETLAG JAG (6) - angled across in the run in to tight quarters in the run to the bend.
Race 8	PNGRC Sectional Times @ pngreyhounds.kiwi C1/C2 - C1/2 - 410	ADOBE SPINNER (1) - crowded and tightened into the bend losing some momentum and ground. GOLDSTAR ALASKA (2) - began awkwardly for a stride or so. WIFI WILBUR (3) - in the run to the bend he was tightened in onto ADOBE SPINNER for some strides then tightened and checked as runners were dictated inwards into the bend. He went back through the field to the rear finishing a margin in last place at the line .Assessed by the vet and found to have hip flexor injury. PENNY MOWHAWK (5) - dictated inwards and bumped going in across the face of WIFI WILBUR. BIG TIME DOMINO (6) - dictated inwards from the jump. Angled across onto the hind of RAPID RENEGADE hampering this runner for several strides into the bend. BIG TIME MAY (7) - fav- jumped inwards racing from the boxes hampering BIG TIME DOMINO for a stride or so. CHIC IN TIME (8) - attempted to angle into the bend contacting PENNY MOHAWK and was unbalanced for a stride or so.
Race 9	Outback Trading Company C3 - C3 - 410	BIG TIME BOOTS (3) - hampered when tightened into the bend as THRILLING MILLIE angled in across his line. He was contacted and went back onto the hind of ELECTRICAL STORM going back onto BIG TIME LEBRON who galloped onto his back dragging him down as they turned into the home straight. He recovered to his paws to finish onto the lure and was referred to the vet and was found to have a lacerations to right hind foot and hock. GOLDSTAR SPOOK (5) - hampered racing from the start as runners tightened causing him to lose some momentum. BIG TIME LEBRON (6) - fav- checked racing from the start as ELECTRICAL STORM angled across his line. He was forced to race wide across the top bend and was severely checked into the home straight when galloping on the back of BIG TIME BOOTS becoming severely unbalanced . Recovered back into stride to finish onto the lure and was referred to the vet and found to have a laceration to left and right hind feet. ELECTRICAL STORM (7) - racing from the start he angled in across the line of BIG TIME LEBRON. He was forced to check to avoid the heels of BIG TIME BOOTS racing onto the top bend. THRILLING MILLIE (8) - angled across into the bend tightening BIG TIME BOOTS.
Race 10	Total Bodyshop Supplies C4 - C4 - 410	ENTREE ONLY (3) - dictated in across heels racing from the start. came out onto BIG TIME SPOT racing onto the top bend. Angled widest into the home straight. BIG TIME SPOT (4) - tightened inwards racing from the start and crowded ,then he angled out across heels running into BIG TIME IZZY. RUNNING FREER (5) - angled across from the jump causing tightening to several runners to BIG TIME IZZY (6) - fav- dictated outwards and was bumped racing to the bend racing wide. She was unable to make ground around runners before angling inwards towards the home turn making some ground in the run to the line. GOLDSTAR MAUNEY (7) - began awkwardly settled back. Made good ground in the run to the home turn finished best in the run to the line. GOLDSTAR YANKEE (8) - began awkwardly for a stride or so and was last into stride.
Race 11	Big Barrel Palmerston North C4/C5 - C4/5 - 410	BIG TIME MAPLE (3) - soon after the start she was checked and tightened between runners stumbling for a stride going back towards the rear. BIG TIME PLUTO (4) - checked racing from the start as BIG TIME FAIRY angled across. racing into the bend she was contacted in the hindquarters and went outwards onto BIG TIME HAZEL and galloped onto this runners back being severely hampered losing all chance thereafter. Finished onto the lure and was referred to the vet and cleared of injury. BIG TIME HAZEL (5) - hampered racing from the start as BIG TIME FAIRY angled across. Attempted to make ground wider out into the bend resulting in BIG TIME PLUTO running onto her back dragging her down and lost all chance thereafter. She was referred to the vet and was found to have a laceration on the left hind GOLDSTAR CLOVER (6) - hampered racing from the start as BIG TIME FAIRY angled across her line. BIG TIME FAIRY (7) - racing from the start she angled in across the line of several runners.
Race 12	PNGRC Golden Dash Final Here May 10th C4/C5 - C4/5 - 410	BIG TIME LANTAO was a late scratching at pre race presentation when found to have an injury. BIG TIME MILO (1) - soon after the start he was contacted and pushed inwards for a couple of strides and checked back towards the rear. BEES AND BIRDS (2) - soon after the start he was contacted in the hindquarters and momentarily unbalanced. Slight contact into the bend. CUMBRIA LAD (3) - dictated inwards from the jump going in across heels and stumbled slightly for a stride going in onto and across the face of BIG TIME MILO. ZAMAH (5) - angled inwards from the jump, then changed ground outwards and was checked from behind being almost dragged down. Contact and unbalanced entering the bend, soon after checked again racing onto the top bend losing more ground and momentum. Assessed by the vet and found to have a webbing injury. WIFI BOLT (6) - Checked and ran onto the hind of ZAMAH soon after the start going outwards as they raced to the bend. PORTLAND BERTY (8) - bumped in the run towards the bend as runners came out. He was further hampered when looking to clear heels into the bend.
