Palmerston North GRC - 16 March 2021

1) Trainer K Lincoln-Papuni advised Stewards that she had taken THRILLING BRAX to be examined by a veterinary surgeon following this meeting he was found to be lame in his right metacarpal bone.

TRIALS:

1) ZIPPING SCOOT (J & D Bell) completed a satisfactory trial in blinkers and can now be nominated to race.
2) TUFF ADMIRAL (B Mitchell) completed a satisfactory trial with an outside blinker and can now be nominated to race.

Moved up the track nearing the home straight bumping BAILEY AND CREAM. Contacted from behind entering the home straight. COOL BEANS (3) - bumped OPAWA JODY at the start losing ground. Awkwardly placed on heels entering the bend, contacting OPAWA VIOLET from behind, out of contention thereafter. OPAWA JODY (4) - bumped at the start. Bumped BAILEY AND CREAM nearing the bend. Tightened entering the bend, losing some momentum. Contacted WIFI SAPPHIRE from behind entering the home straight. BIG TIME YONKERS (5) - tightened WIFI SAPPHIRE shortly after the start when crossing to the lead. Buffeted entering the bend. BAILEY AND CREAM (6) - bumped nearing the bend. Bumped nearing the home straight. Raced wide through the home straight. HOMEBUSH JOZIE (7) - buffeted BIG TIME YONKERS entering the bend. OPAWA VIOLET (8) - tightened OPAWA JODY entering the bend, losing some ground, then contacted from behind and dragged, losing ground. Out of contention thereafter. A post race veterinary examination was carried out which revealed no injuries.
Race 2	AON CPF INSURANCE C1 - C1 - 305	ALLEGRO SMOOCH (2) - slow away. Contacted shortly after the start. Contacted ARIANA SUNSET from behind entering the bend. Raced wide through the home straight. LUCY LINGERS (3) - contacted ALLEGRO SMOOCH shortly after the start. ARIANA SUNSET (7) - contacted from behind entering the bend.
Race 3	FIRST SECURITY C1 - C1 - 305	SLAM IT (3) - coursed wide through the latter stages of the bend. HOMEBUSH YURI (4) - bumped at the start, then again shortly after the start. Contacted DOUBLE HEADER shortly after entering the home straight. DOUBLE HEADER (8) - went up with the lids. Contacted shortly after entering the home straight losing some momentum. DILLER (9/5) - bumped HOMEBUSH YURI at the start and again shortly after the start. DOUBLE WHAT (10/6) - drifted shortly after the start, then appeared awkward in his action nearing the bend and for the remainder of the event. A post race veterinary examination was carried out which revealed to have a tear to the left hind gracilis muscle. Co-trainer J Bell advised Stewards that DOUBLE WHAT will be retired.
Race 4	PRESIDENT STAKES C1/2 - C1/2 - 520	BATTLE CRUISER (2) - moved up the track entering the first bend, contacting BIG TIME HAUTU. Raced wide through the back straight. BIG TIME PORSCHE (3) - contacted from behind shortly after the start, becoming unbalanced and losing ground. Tightened nearing the home straight, losing ground as a result. Contacted from behind entering the home straight. BIG TIME HAUTU (4) - buffeted from behind shortly after the start. Contacted entering the first bend becoming unbalanced and losing ground. BIGTIME AVA (5) - buffeted at the start and obliged to move toward the rail, contacting BIG TIME PORSCHE shortly after the start, losing ground. BIG TIME KOBE (6) - tightened at the start, then buffeted BIGTIME AVA. Contacted BIG TIME PORSCHE from behind entering the home straight. BIG TIME GINA (7) - tightened BIG TIME KOBE at the start. Buffeted BIG TIME HAUTU from behind shortly after the start. Tightened BIG TIME PORSCHE nearing the home straight.
Race 5	KERNOW CONSTRUCTION C3/4 - C3/4 - 305	DENUTO (3) - moved up the track nearing the bend. Heavily contacted on the point of the bend, in turn bumping BEES AND BIRDS. Bumped nearing the home straight. A post race veterinary examination was carried out which revealed no injuries. EYE FAR (4) - bumped FREE THINKER shortly after the start. FREE THINKER (6) - bumped shortly after the start. Heavily contacted DENUTO on the point of the bend, losing ground. Bumped DENUTO nearing the home straight. BEES AND BIRDS (7) - bumped on the point of the bend. BIG TIME REBEL (8) - coursed wide through the bend, losing ground.
Race 6	LASER PLUMBING C1/2 - C1/2 - 305	SUMMER GLEE (2) - kennel representative sought permission from Stewards to place SUMMER GLEE on the box first list for his next start. BIG TIME MAY (3) - slow away. Contacted IDOL STEFFIE on the point of the bend. Buffeted CHECKPOINT nearing the home straight, becoming slightly unbalanced as a result. DOTTIE BELL (5) - bumped from behind nearing the bend. IDOL STEFFIE (6) - contacted on the point of the bend, losing ground as a result. BIG TIME BOOTS (7) - bumped CHECKPOINT shortly after the start. Bumped DOTTIE BELL from behind nearing the bend. Coursed wide through the latter stages of the bend, to continue to race wide through the home straight. CHECKPOINT (8) - bumped shortly after the start. Buffeted nearing the home straight.
Race 7	HAPPY 77TH BEV DUGANZICH C3 - C3 - 520	COSSIE COOPER (3) - bumped shortly after the start. Moved up the track through the back straight, dictating the racing line of BIG TIME MAC. BIG TIME MAC (4) - bumped COSSIE COOPER shortly after the start. Tightened entering the first bend, needing to check across heels to gain clear racing room. Had racing line dictated through the back straight and obliged to race wide as a result. YOUNG DUMB BROKE (5) - contacted on the point of the first bend. Tightened entering the final bend, appearing to contact the rail. Awkward in her action thereafter finishing some distance behind the field, with a post race veterinary examination revealing pain/bruising right triceps-pain on flexion of right carpus- pain on flexion left metatarsals. MY KHLOE (6) - boxed first. Contacted at the start. Contacted YOUNG DUMB BROKE on the point of the first bend. Tightened YOUNG DUMB BROKE entering the final bend. SUPER REX (7) - tightened BIG TIME MAC entering the first bend. JILLIBY SOPHIA (8) - contacted MY KHLOE at the start.
Race 8	ADEPT ACCOUNTANTS C2/3 - C2/3 - 305	GO GREAT (1) - squeezed WIFI ROBYN nearing the bend. Bumped nearing the winning post. WIFI ROBYN (2) - buffeted shortly after the start. Squeezed between runners nearing the bend losing ground. Coursed wide through the bend and continued to race wide through the home straight. ALLEGRO KYLE (4) - contacted from behind shortly after the start. Squeezed WIFI ROBYN nearing the bend. BAVARO (5) - moved up the track shortly after the start, squeezing OTIS, then bumping LIGHT CRUISER. Contacted nearing the home straight, then again entering the home straight. Tightened nearing the winning post, in turn bumping GO GREAT. Co-trainer G Fredrickson sought permission to remove the outside blinker for BAVORO's future starts. A post race veterinary examination was carried out which revealed no injuries. BIGTIME BRUNO (4) - bumped HAIDEE BALE at the start. Bumped HAIDEE BALE entering the first bend, becoming unbalanced and pushing HAIDEE BALE further up the track. Raced wide through the back straight. HAIDEE BALE (5) - bumped at the start, in turn squeezing SUB TWENTY THREE. Bumped entering the first bend, then pushed further up the track becoming unbalanced and losing ground. A post race veterinary examination was carried out which revealed no injuries. SUB TWENTY THREE (6) - squeezed between runners at the start, losing ground. ARTICULATOR (2) - tightened IDOL DUKE on the point of the bend. VIKING ASH (5) - raced wide through the home straight. JUSTIN LINCOLN (6) - raced wide at various stages throughout. PUNCH ON RUBY (7) - began awkwardly. Bumped on the point of the bend, momentarily forced wide as a result.
