Palmerston North GRC - 23 February 2021

1) Trainer K Gommans advised Stewards that OTIS had pulled up sore following this meeting and was subsequently examined by a veterinarian and withdrawn from Wanganui GRC's meeting on 26 February.

Wanganui GRC - 24 February 2021

1) Trainer M Goodier advised Stewards that ROSE AND CROWN had presented in season the day after the meeting and has now been retired.

SATISFACTORY TRIALS:

1) MURMUR (L Cole) completed a satisfactory trial as required and was subjected to a post trial swab.
2) NANGAR RIDGE (L Cole) completed a satisfactory trial as required and was subjected to a post trial swab.

Race 1	WELCOME TO HATRICK C1/2 - C1/2 - 305	BIG TIME BOOTS (1) - racing handy into the bend when checked and went back a few lengths as BIG TIME NALA crossed his line to the rail. OPAWA JODY (4) - tightened between runners and checked back to the rear angling wide across heels into the bend. Angled inwards contacting POPPY ROCKET nearing the home turn. POPPY ROCKET (5) - bumped and jostled early stages. Tightened and was forced back from between runners into the bend. Hampered for a couple of strides nearing the home turn. BIG TIME NALA (10/6) - fav- dwelt at the jump. Angled across and was jostled into the bend made good ground to the line.
Race 2	AON CPF INSURANCE C1/2 - C1/2 - 520	ILLICIT (1) - racing in tight quarters into the first turn where he was forced to check back off heels losing momentum and ground and was contacted soon after. BIGTIME DAISY (2) - out well handy and was bumped racing into the first turn. Soon after shortened stride and drifted back to the rear finishing on to the lure. Assessed by the vet and was found to have suffered a torn right hind gracilis muscle and will be required to complete a trial before being eligible to nominate. ALLEGRO PIPPA (3) - contact racing off the mats as runners came across from her outer BIGTIME ARCHIE (4) - tightened and checked back racing off the mats. Checked again into the first turn and lost ground. BIG TIME FALCON (5) - fav- soon after the start he was bumped and jostled for a few strides then bumped with BIGTIME DAISY as he crossed to the lead into the first turn. BIG TIME EMMI (9/6) - angled across sharply from the jump causing tightening and jostling to several runners to her inner. Improved around the outer making contact with ILLICIT in the run towards the back straight.
Race 3	RACING HERE WEDNESDAY 3RD MARCH C1/2 - C1/2 - 305	MOTHER'S TOUCH (6) - was checked at the start as BIG TIME KATY ran in colliding into her. She then pushed outwards across heels before angling inwards into the bend. Was contacted in the hindquarters nearing the home turn. BIG TIME KATY (7) - ran inwards sharply from the jump colliding with MOTHER'S TOUCH. She was then pushed and dictated outwards as MOTHER'S TOUCH angled out across heels. She was checked and lost momentum nearing the home turn when tightened back from between runners. BIG TIME REBEL (8) - fav- raced wide into the bend and became awkwardly placed for a couple of strides nearing the home turn. Assessed by the vet and cleared of injury. MISS COWDREY (10/5) - racing wide nearing the home turn where she angled inwards tightening following runner.
Race 4	PRESIDENTS STAKES C3 - C3 - 520	JILLIBY JAC (2) - fav- began awkwardly for a stride or so. Hampered and came back off hind quarters racing into the first turn. Improving nearing the home turn to challenge when moving outwards off heels into the racing line of BIG TIME AMBER. SPEED MACHINE (3) - began awkwardly, going up in the air as he left the boxes. BIG TIME AMBER (4) - settled handy. Severely checked and stumbled on the home turn as JILLIBY JAC checked outwards into her racing line. She lost momentum and ground. Assessed by the vet and has pain in right front fan muscle. MY KHLOE (6) - angled outwards into the first turn checking runners to her outer. COSSIE COOPER (7) - checked into the first turn as MY KHLOE checked outwards on his inner. BIG TIME EDEN (8) - hampered and forced wide into the first turn as runners checked outwards to her inner.
Race 5	KERNOW CONSTRUCTION C5 - C5 - 305	BEES AND BIRDS (1) - racing from the start he was severely hampered for some distance in the run to the bend as he became unbalanced for several strides losing all chance. ELUSIVE ALIBI (3) - bumped racing from the start was then severely hampered when tightened and jostled between runners for some distance in the run to the bend losing all chance. BIG TIME JONIE (4) - fav- contact in the hind quarters in the early stages. SEDGEBROOK LOVER (6) - bumped racing from the start he was forced inwards and severely hampered for some strides. GOTCHA MURPHY (7) - racing from the start he attempted to force his way inwards causing severe tightening and checks to several runners for some strides and caused himself to be severely hampered. BIG TIME MAPLE (9/2) - contact racing off the mats. Was then tightened and jostled between runners for some strides being severely hampered and lost all chance.
Race 6	LASER PLUMBING C2/3 - C2/3 - 305	WATERLOO GIRL (1) - hampered when tightened for a couple of strides into the bend. GOTCHA MARSHALL (2) - awkwardly placed in tight quarters and checked when catching heels into the bend angling off hind quarters bumping with GO GREAT to his outer. SPARKLE PONY (3) - fav- dwelt at the jump and was contacted in the shoulder and checked back. Last into the bend and was forced to check as GO GREAT angled in across his line. Hampered when looking to clear heels nearing the home turn. SOZIN'S DELIGHT (4) - dictated inwards early stages being pushed in across the line of SPARKLE PONY. Jostled for a few strides racing into the bend. BIGTIME LUNA (5) - hampered when tightened and checked losing momentum and ground into the bend. MACHINE GUNN (6) - hampered racing into the bend as OPAWA DAWN angled across onto him he was able to clear this runner to race into the lead. OPAWA DAWN (7) - angled across into the bend and was unbalanced when running into the side of MACHINE GUNN. GO GREAT (8) - angled across the line of SPARKLE PONY into the bend as was then bumped outwards as GOTCHA MARSHALL checked outwards.
Race 7	FIRST SECURITY C3/4 - C3/4 - 520	BIG TIME ROCKET (2) - began awkwardly for a stride or so. Tightened and lost ground in the run around the first turn. BIG TIME PLUTO (4) - crowded between runners racing into the first turn going back off heels. ALLEGRO TAMMY (7) - tightened between runners and went back into the first turn and was further hampered when avoiding heels. Soon after she angled down towards the rails catching heels checking losing momentum and ground.
Race 8	ADEPT ACCOUNTANTS C2/3 - C2/3 - 305	LUCKY SCAR (2) - began awkwardly and was slow away. Hampered racing onto the top bend when avoiding the heels of VIKING ASH as this runner angled inwards. BIG TIME HAZEL (5) - contact soon after the start when coming together with SEDGEBROOK SALLY. PAVING WAY (6) - went up in the boxes as the lids lifted and was slow into stride. Forced to race wide into the bend racing widest thereafter to the line. SEDGEBROOK SALLY (7) - angled across from the jump coming together with BIG TIME HAZEL.
Race 9	ACCELL "LEADING THE WAY IN CANINE THERAPY" C4/5 - C4/5 - 520	JILLIBY LITSA (1) - fav- bumped racing from the start then angled out across the face of the field and was severely hampered when being contacted from behind and was almost dragged down going back through the field. A couple of strides on into the the first turn she was bumped and pushed sideways becoming unbalanced losing momentum and ground finishing towards the rear at the line. Assessed by the vet and was cleared of injury. SIMPLY SMOOTH (2) - bumped with JILLIBY LITSA at the start. She was severely tightened and checked making contact with the rail racing into the first turn and was further tightened and jostled for some strides racing to the back straight. Assessed by the vet and was found to have a torn gracilis muscle right hind and is required to complete a trial before being eligible to nominate. BIG TIME ELSA (4) - racing from the start she was bumped and jostled between runners then a couple of strides on was severely tightened and crowded between runners for some distance in the run to and around the first turn. She lost momentum and ground being checked back finishing in the rear at the line. Assessed by the vet and has pain in right hind gracilis muscle. BIG TIME TOMMEY (5) - Racing to the first turn he was tightened and crowded between runners for some distance racing around the first turn. He lost momentum and ground but recovered good ground into the back straight to the line. BIG TIME FRANKIE (6) - hampered for some strides in the run to the first turn when unable to clear hind quarters of runners ahead for some strides. JILLIBY SOPHIA (7) - angled across in the run to the first turn causing severe tightening and crowding to several runners to her inner for some distance .
Race 10	WWW.RACINGTIPS.CO.NZ C2/3 - C2/3 - 305	SCREAMING VIKING (4) - severely hampered when crowded and checked into the bend as runners ahead came back on him and ran wide into the bend as he balanced up losing all chance. BIG TIME LORNA (6) - bumped racing from the start. Angled inwards into the bend and was clipped from behind being dragged down on her haunches losing momentum and ground finishing in the rear at the line. Assessed by the vet and cleared of injury. ZARA CHEEBEE (7) - ran onto the hind of BIG TIME LORNA and was checked almost falling racing wide as she recovered her balance losing all chance. Assessed by the vet and cleared of injury. NOAH RAPPER (8) - hampered when checked and ran extremely wide into the bend as he attempted to keep his balance losing all chance. PUNCH ON RUBY (9/2) - when questioned regarding the improved performance tonight kennel representative S Stone advised Stewards that she was suited by the favorable draw and the way the race was run.
Race 11	PALAMOUNTAINS SCIENTIFIC NUTRITION C4 - C4 - 305	BIGTIME LEO (1) - tightened and made contact with the rail into the bend, racing across the top bend he made contact with the rail again checking and losing momentum. Assessed by the vet and cleared of injury. ALLEGRO KYLE (2) - tightened in onto BIGTIME LEO into the bend as runners angled across his line. BIG TIME GWYN (3) - fav- angled across the line of ALLEGRO KYLE into the bend checking this runner. OPAWA GYPSY (6) - angled across and was held up when crowded into the bend. ZAMAH (7) - went up with the lids and was slow into stride. Angled into the bend was hampered when avoiding heels coming together with KONGS OUT AGAIN becoming unbalanced for a couple of strides. Made good ground thereafter to the line. KONGS OUT AGAIN (8) - angled across into the bend coming together with ZAMAH and racing out wide thereafter.
Race 12	BOOK YOUR FUNCTION @ HATRICK C4 - C4 - 305	WATERLOO PINK (2) - angled outwards soon after the start pushing WEBBER COME out across heels. WEBBER COME (3) - soon after the start was pushed outwards across heels. Checked into the bend as DENUTO angled in onto his shoulder and became unbalanced for a few strides into the bend losing momentum. DENUTO (4) - went up in the boxes as the lids lifted. Bumped soon after getting into stride contact with WEBBER COME and going outwards running into and over the hind quarters of BIG TIME FLASH and was momentarily caught in the back legs as he cleared this runner and losing all chance. Assessed by the vet and cleared of injury. YASAWA LIGHTS (7) - contacted in the hind quarters and checked into the bend racing out wide losing momentum and ground. BIG TIME FLASH (8) - angled across into the bend contacting the hind quarters of YASAWA LIGHTS going back onto DENUTO resulting in BIG TIME FLASH falling. She recovered to her paws and pulled up. Assessed by the vet and was cleared of injury stood down for 5 days as per the race fall policy.
