Southland GRC - 14 December 2020

1). Trainer R Evans has advised that GOLDSTAR ROYAL had not fractured a toe as first diagnosed but had in fact sustained torn ligaments.

Judicial Report:

1). Trainer A Bradshaw has advised that her Kennels have an outbreak of Kennel Cough. As a consequence to this all of their runners engaged in all race meetings have been scratched at the direction of GRNZ. Trainer J Lane was also subjected to having his greyhounds which are domiciled at his Rangiora kennel scratched at the direction of GRNZ due to this being shared with Ms Bradshaw.

2). Trainer J Dunn advised mid afternoon that his greyhound LAYLA which was engaged to race at the Christchurch GRC's meeting tomorrow has kennel cough necessitating its scratching. As a consequence to this all runners engaged to race today and all subsequent race days were scratched at the direction of GRNZ.

Race 2	Happy Birthday Riley Evans Stakes - C1 - 520	LITTLE SECRET (4) - boxed first. BUNDY (7) - slow early. Checked off heels entering the first bend. Shouldered with FAMOUS LEE prior to entering the final bend. FAMOUS LEE (10/3) - hampered first bend. Shouldered with BUNDY prior to entering the final bend.
Race 3	kiwikiwihounds.co.nz Adoption Sprint - C2 - 295	KNOW TACTICS (3) - hind quarters raced on entering the bend before being terminally dragged down. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury. DREAM RUNNER (4) - slow early. Checked rounding the bend being obligated to course wide. MITCHAM GOLDIE (5) - raced on the hind quarters of KNOW TACTICS entering the bend before climbing on this runners heels and falling to the track. Referred to the Veterinarian and stood down as a precaution for 5 days. GHOST MODE (8) - checked rounding the bend losing momentum.
Race 4	Murray & Hannah @ Ray White 033715005 Sprint - C3 - 295	1). THEROUX was a late scratching under GRNZ Rule 5.1(v). 2). This race was delayed at the request of the TAB. COME A GUSTER (6) - shifted off heels exiting the bend. GOLDEN BAY (9/4) - placed in restricted room entering the bend losing all momentum.
Race 5	Thursday Place Pick Dash - C3 - 295	FIDGETY FEET (3) - slightly hampered exiting the bend GRACIAS MAESTRO (4) - placed in restricted room rounding the bend losing ground. Awkwardly placed between runners exiting the bend being turned as a consequence. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury. OPAWA DI (6) - terminally checked exiting the bend. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury. JINGILI JILL (7) - box first. Hampered exiting the bend.
Race 6	Hart Family Greyhound Racing Sprint - C3 - 295	EDGE OF REASON was a late scratching under GRNZ Rule 5.1(v). PUNTERS LAST (3) - slow to jump before racing on the hindquarters of MEMOIR. Placed in restricted room entering the bend having to check and lose ground. Referred to the Veterinarian where it was reported to be lame in both wrists. MEMOIR (6) - hind quarters raced on early stages. Placed in tight quarters prior to the bend.
Race 7	O'Shea's Public House Stakes - C3/4 - 520
Race 8	Balcairn Stockfoods & CopRice Dog Food Dash - C3 - 295	KING KALI (6) - came up with the lid and was last to jump as a consequence.
Race 9	Christchurch Casino Sprint - C3 - 295	BILLY RAY (1) - jostled with MITCHAM BECKY exiting the bend. SUCK IT UP (3) - collided with MITCHAM BECKY early stages. MITCHAM BECKY (5) - collided with SUCK IT UP early stages. Jostled with BILLY RAY exiting the bend.
Race 10	Selwyn-Rakaia Vet Services Stakes - C1/2 - 520	GOLDSTAR SPOOK was a late scratching when found to have a laceration to a foot. DIAMOND ROSETTE (3) - contacted from the outside by SEDUCTIVE KIWI on jumping. Jostled with NIGHTHAWK THORN in the run to the first bend. SEDUCTIVE KIWI (4) - shifted in on jumping colliding with DIAMOND ROSETTE. Squeezed for racing room soon afterwards. Awkwardly placed on heels entering the first bend. NIGHTHAWK THORN (5) - jostled with DIAMOND ROSETTE in the run to the first bend.
Race 11	Kolorful Kanvas Sprint - C5 - 295	OPAWA PHIL (2) - jostled with GOLDSTAR FLORA rounding the bend. GOLDSTAR FLORA (5) - jostled with OPAWA PHIL rounding the final bend.
Race 12	Livamol Dash - C4 - 295	TAUNTING EYES was a late scratching under GRNZ Rule 5.1(v). SNEAKY SNITCH (1) - shifted up the track across the heels of MR MUPPET on exiting the bend. MR MUPPET (10/4) - awkwardly placed on heels in the run to the bend.
