Track: Good At the conclusion of race 4 the Stewards inspected the track after having concerns that the track was cutting up around the top and bottom bends. After liaising with the curator some remedial work was carried with the meeting progressing. At the conclusion of race 8 the Stewards again inspected the track and after further liaising with the curator further matting of the track was carried out and the meeting concluded with no further issues.

Wanganui GRC meeting on the 28-10-2020. Lure driver Mr R Gurney was fined $250.00 by the JCA after admitting a breach of rule 62.1o.

1- S O'Neill has advised the Stewards that PAM ARISING # 5 race 2 a scratching has been retired.

2- BAD BRO BAD # 2 race 10 has been stood down to complete a satisfactory trial.

Race 1	WELCOME TO HATRICK C1 - C1 - 305	This race was delayed 2 minutes at the request of Raceday Control. HOMEBUSH MAXI (1) - hampered for a stride or so into the bend and drifted back soon after and was referred to the vet and cleared of injury. MITCHAM NIKORIMA (2) - ran outwards leaving the boxes into the shoulder of IDOL ZIGGY. IDOL ZIGGY (3) - fav- contact leaving the boxes stumbling and going down on his nose and settled in the rear. He was referred to the vet and found to have pain in left triceps and sore front left foot. TELLTALE SIGNS (4) - checked coming off the mats as she avoided runner to her inner. KIOSK (5) - hampered soon after the start when pushed inwards for a stride or so. ALAMEIN PUDLY (6) - dwelt and was slow away.
Race 2	KERNOW CONSTRUCTION C1/2 - C1/2 - 520	BIGTIME MACI (2) - soon after the start she was bumped and pushed inwards as runners tightened across. BIG TIME FLASH (3) - soon after the start she was bumped inwards onto BIGTIME MACI then severely tightened back to the rear in the run into the first turn. Racing towards the back straight she was checked again as GO GLOW angled in across her line and lost ground. COSSIE COOPER (4) - soon after the start he was tightened and jostled between runners for some strides then checked back into the first turen. BIG TIME DAWSON (6) - checked back from between runners soon after the start. SPEED MACHINE (7) - angled across from the jump tightening runners to his inner for some strides. GO GLOW (9/5) - hampered racing to the first turn when being checked and running onto heels. Checked again and angled out off heels into the first turn and soon after angled in between runners to the rail checking BIG TIME FLASH.
Race 3	LASER PLUMBING C1 - C1 - 305	TIDDY CASH (1) - slow away angled outwards in the run to the bend. DOUBLE WHAT (2) - bumped and unbalanced racing off the mats. GOTCHA MURPHY (3) - ran in jumping away contacting the shoulder of DOUBLE WHAT. BAILEY AND CREAM (4) - hampered for a stride on the home turn and severely tightened and checked being pushed back onto heels in the latter stages to the line as NOAH RAPPER angled inwards forcing OPAWA JODY into her. COOL BEANS (6) - checked racing from the start as runner to his outer ran inwards pushing him onto the hindquarters of JETLAG JAG. NOAH RAPPER (7) - fav- ran inwards from the jump onto COOL BEANS and went sideways for a few strides. He angled inwards into the bend and abruptly checked out wide over heels into the home straight then angled inwards tightening in onto runners in the latter stages to the line. He was referred to the vet and cleared of injury. OPAWA JODY (8) - making good ground in the latter stages to the line when tightened and checked as NOAH RAPPER angled in onto her shoulder.
Race 4	AON CPF INSURANCE C1/2 - C1/2 - 305	BIGTIME SAM (1) - dwelt and was last into stride. Was checked into the bend as HOMEBUSH MAYCEE angled inwards. GO ALL LIN (3) - angled outwards to race wide onto the top bend. HOMEBUSH MAYCEE (4) - ran inwards into the bend bumping into BIGTIME SAM. IDOL LUCY (5) - racing handy between runners into the bend when tightened and checked back losing some ground. MOTHER'S TOUCH (6) - dictated widest in the run onto the top bend. LIONEL KEEPING (7) - dictated wide into the bend clearing heels and angling inwards racing onto the top bend.
Race 5	WWW.RACINGTIPS.CO.NZ C4/5 - C4/5 - 305	DOOMSDAY (1) - hampered into the bend as runners either side tightened. CRIMINAL JUSTICE (2) - checked into the bend losing ground then checked outwards in the run onto the top bend. BIG TIME VEGAS (3) - angled into the bend and was tightened for a couple of strides. GIRAFFE CLUB (4) - angled inwards into the bend onto the shoulder of DOOMSDAY stumbled and fell. He recovered to his paws to finished onto the lure and was referred to the vet and cleared of injury, but stood down as per the GRNZ fallen Greyhound protocol. BIGTIME EMJAY (5) - checked into the bend as runners tightened and checked. BIGTIME PUMA (6) - checked into the bend as runner ahead fell going down on his haunches and was unbalanced for a couple of strides and referred to the vet and cleared of injury. ALLEGRO WILL (7) - checked into the bend and ran onto heels as runners ahead checked. BIG TIME KEVIN (8) - forced to hurdle fallen runner into the bend racing wide and was referred to the vet and cleared of injury.
Race 6	ADEPT ACCOUNTANTS C1/2 - C1/2 - 305	COOKIE BISCUIT (1) - fav- began very awkwardly on leaving the boxes settled back GOTCHA MARSHALL (3) - jostled and was unbalanced for a stride or so into the bend. OPAWA MARCIE (4) - soon after the start she was contacted and pushed inwards going across to the rail and was hampered for a stride or so into the bend. GEMMAS DILEMMA (5) - severely tightened and checked into the bend BIG TIME BEAT (6) - bumped racing from the start soon after catching hindquarters and checked then angled across running onto hindquarters and losing momentum YARN SISTER (8) - angled across from the jump and was clipped from behind. Checked from behind and almost dragged down into the bend and checked again as she balanced up and was referred to the vet and found to have superficial gracing on left carpus and tarsus with no stand down required.
Race 7	FIRST SECURITY C3 - C3 - 520	BIG TIME ROCKET (2) - checked in the run around the first turn losing ground. BIG TIME FRANKIE (5) - fav- soon after the start was forced in across heels. MY KHLOE (6) - checked racing from the start checked in the run around the first turn when crowded JILLIBY SOPHIA (7) - angled across from the jump tightening and checking runners to her inner. Checked in the run around the first turn when crowded running onto heels and losing ground.
Race 8	HAPPY BIRTHDAY EARL DUGANZICH C3 - C3 - 305	IDOL WILSON (1) - hampered into the bend for a stride or so checked across heels on the home turn running wide into the home straight. ZAMAH (2) - fav- went up in the boxes as the lids lifted and was last into stride by 4 lengths. YASAWA LIGHTS (3) - contact into the bend as HYPOTHETICAL angled across. HYPOTHETICAL (4) - contact with YASAWA LIGHTS coming off her shoulder and racing extremely wide onto the top bend. ALLEGRO KYLE (6) - crowded soon after the start for a few strides. PLISKOVA (8) - hampered when dictated extremely wide onto the top bend.
Race 9	ACCELL "LEADING THE WAY IN CANINE THERAPY" C4/5 - C4/5 - 520	This race was delayed 5 minutes to allow more matting to be carried out. BIG TIME BABY (1) - dwelt at the jump checked out across heels into the first turn losing ground. ELECTRICAL STORM (4) - began very awkwardly jumping in the air coming down on hard on his hind legs coming off the mats and he faltered and did not finish the race was referred to the vet and found to have a torn left and right hind gracilis muscles. KONGS OUT AGAIN (6) - tightened and checked back in behind runners soon after the start. BIGTIME ROD (7) - tightened and checked racing from the start.
Race 10	PALAMOUNTAINS SCIENTIFIC NUTRITION C0/1 - C1d - 645	BAD BRO BAD (2) - dwelt and was last into stride. Racing to the post on the first occasion he ran outwards abruptly easing losing ground and charged pursuant with Rule 55.1(b), Failing To Pursue and was referred to the vet. Was found to have pain on flexion of neck on both directions with a 21 day stand down recommended, with the failing to pursue charge not proceeding however is to complete a satisfactory trial.
Race 11	WANGANUI TOYOTA C4/5 - C4/5 - 305	SEDGEBROOK COMET (2) - soon after start he angled outwards onto SEDGEBROOK SALLY and was dictated back inwards and was severely tightened and checked falling into the bend and was referred to the vet and was found to have suffered a fracture to the right fore elbow and was humanely euthanized. SEDGEBROOK SALLY (4) - in the run to the bend she was crowded between runners being bumped and jostled and was severely tightened and checked into the bend and was referred to the vet and cleared of injury. WIFI BOLT (6) - bumped racing from the start soon after was crowded between runners being jostled and checked back becoming unbalanced racing wide into the bend BIGTIME BANJO (7) - ran in from the jump bumping with WIFI BOLT SEDGEBROOK LOVER (8) - went up as the lids lifted and was slow away. ALLEGRO FERN (9/5) - soon after the start she was crowded between runners being bumped and jostled for several strides she then angled across towards the rail severely tightening in onto SEDGEBROOK SALLY and SEDGEBROOK COMET and was severely hampered into the bend.
Race 12	BOOK YOUR FUNCTION @ HATRICK C4 - C4 - 305	EYE FAR (1) - fav- dwelt at the jump tightened and checked into the bend losing several lengths. Was tightened and checked into the bend then was unable to clear heels for some strides around the bend. BEES AND BIRDS (3) - ran outwards from the jump checking ELUSIVE ALIBI and came together with HIP HOP RAPPER as this runner angled across. ELUSIVE ALIBI (4) - tightened soon after the start coming back off heels. Ran onto heels as runners checked ahead into the bend and lost more ground when avoiding heels across the top bend. HIP HOP RAPPER (5) - soon after the start came together with BEES AND BIRDS becoming unbalanced as he angled inwards and was severely crowded and checked back from between runners losing ground racing onto the top bend. SO SEVERE (6) - angled across sharply into the bend severely crowding runners to the inner and causing himself to check and lose some ground.
