The Judicial Control Authority Appeals Tribunal heard the appeal by Ms Ross in relation to the decision of the Non-Raceday Judicial Committee dated 24th September 2020 at Cambridge Raceway on the 22 October 2020.

As a result of the appeal the Tribunal reached a decision which is set out below.

1). For the breach of GRNZ Rules 62.1(g), (p) and (w) the 3 month disqualification of Ms Ross's training licence is reduced to a 3 month suspension.
2). For the breach of GRNZ Rule 62.1(q) the 15 month disqualification of Ms Ross's training licence is reduced to a 4 month suspension.

The terms of suspension is to be served concurrently ending on the 13th November 2020.
The Tribunal also ruled that Ms Ross’s order to pay costs of $1450 and $750 to the Racing Integrity Unit and Judicial Control Authority respectively is reduced to an order to pay the Racing Integrity Unit the sum of $1036.74 with no costs awarded to the Judicial Control Authority.

1) - Trainer R Roper was issued with a warning under Rule 44.6 for presenting PLATINUM EARNER late to kennel.

2) - Handler Y Castro was issued with a Minor Infringement Notice and fined $50.00 under Rule 47.2 for arriving late to retrieve DOES HE EXIST for Race 11.

IDOL REIGN (8) - bumped first turn.
Race 2	Mayhounds Greyhound Rehoming Group Sprint - C0 - 318	ALL DAY LONG (1) - contact for a distance tracing toward the first turn. Bumped rounding the bend. Contact entering the final straight. HURRY FLURRY (2) - collided start. Held up rounding the bend. Contact entering the final straight. MY BRO JET (3) - collided start. Inconvenienced racing toward the first turn shifting out off heels then contacted becoming briefly unbalanced. XENA POPPY (4) - inconvenienced start then shifted away from heels. PACHINKO (5) - collided start. Tightened between runners making contact for a distance racing toward the first turn losing ground shifting out onto MY BRO JET. ALLEGRO TIGGER (6) - tightened and checked start losing ground. Raced wide throughout. Veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. RAPINOE (7) - collided start. Contact for a distance racing toward the first turn. Awkwardly placed on heels rounding the bend shifting wider.
Race 3	Jo's Wholesale & Sports Bar Taipa Tavern Sprint - C1 - 318	GAIN CAPITAL (1) - hampered back straight making contact for several strides losing ground. Held up rounding the bend becoming awkwardly placed on heels. Held up early in the final straight. FORD MAN (2) - hampered back straight losing ground. Shifted out across heels first turn. JUST NIA (3) - tightened and hampered for a distance back straight losing ground then awkwardly placed between runners for a distance. Contact first turn. DUNDEE SPECTRE (4) - slow away then tightened losing ground. Contact first turn. DANNY LANG (5) - slow away then tightened losing ground and shifting wider. Contact first turn. SNOOPY'S HERO (6) - solid contact for a distance back straight becoming unbalanced then tightened entering the first turn shifting out across heels coming together with DANNY LANG. LITTLE MERMAID (7) - dictated inwards after the start making contact for a distance back straight becoming tightened losing ground. Tightened between runners and checked first turn then contacted from behind losing ground. Veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. BIGTIME CUTIE (8) - angled in after the start making contact for a distance throughout the back straight then continued to shift in into the line of SNOOPY'S HERO.
Race 4	Pump & Engineering Services Ltd Stakes - C1 - 527	SERBIAN ACE (1) - raced in restricted room rounding the first bend making contact. REACT RESPOND (2) - steadied when tightened between runners first turn. Checked leaving the back straight. HAPPY MEDIUM (4) - slow away. Collided first turn. Contact for a distance back straight shifting wider becoming unbalanced. JINJA BABE (5) - contact rounding the first bend. Hampered back straight getting forced wider into the line of MALLORCA becoming badly unbalanced losing ground. Veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. MALLORCA (6) - collided first turn. Bumped rounding the first bend. Checked back straight getting dictated wider getting on heels becoming unbalanced losing ground. BOBBLE (7) - tightened making contact first turn losing ground. Bumped rounding the first bend. HOW'S THE ENEMY (8) - slow away. Bumped first turn.
Race 5	Happy Birthday Sel Loader Sprint - C2 - 318	MY SNUGGLES (1) - tightened making contact entering the first turn. AUDRETTE (2) - raced wide. FALL GRACEFULLY (3) - slow away. Tightened and checked first turn when awkwardly placed near the running rail. Checked first turn shifting out making contact losing ground. Collided rounding the bend then raced wide for the remainder of the event. BOTANY SANDY (4) - contact entering the first turn becoming tightened. Shifted out off heels final bend. PLISKOVA (5) - dictated wider first turn shifting out off heels. PREROGATIVE (6) - tightened and hampered first turn. TRIBAL CONQUEST (7) - collided first turn shifting wider then hampered becoming unbalanced losing ground. SOVEREIGN PRIDE (8) - slow away. Race 8	Mt Wellington TAB Sprint - C2/3 - 318	WILD KIWI was a late scratching at kenneling on veterinary advice. EXPRESS EMPORIUM (1) - collided after the start then bumped back straight. Shifted wide entering the first turn then raced wide for the remainder of the event. MOBILITY SCOOTER (2) - collided after the start. Tightened onto the running rail first turn. Veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. CALL ME LEO (3) - contact back straight. Checked first turn losing ground. KELLY'S GIRL (4) - tightened making contact for a distance back straight losing ground. Solid contact first turn losing ground. CLARETOWN BEAU (5) - slow away. Solid contact first turn losing ground. Veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the right stopper bone with a 28 day stand down imposed. JINJA MONGO (6) - angled in back straight tightening KELLY'S GIRL.
Race 9	MPS Fencing Sprint - C2 - 318	SIR YENS (1) - hampered after the start. Checked first turn then got on heels becoming badly unbalanced losing ground. Veterinary examination revealed pain in the left hip support and joint effusion p2 joints both front feet with a 10 day stand down imposed. TOMMY THE JETT (2) - tightened and checked after the start. Solid contact first turn. Lost ground final straight. Veterinary examination revealed torn right whip muscle with a 42 day stand down imposed. Connections advised TOMMY THE JETT would now be retired from racing. THRILLING ARNOLD (3) - tightened and checked after the start. Solid contact first turn. WAITERIMU RIPPER (4) - contact after the start shifting in onto SIR YENS. BELMONTS (5) - bumped after the start. NOISE MAKER (7) - solid contact first turn shifting wider then hampered becoming unbalanced losing ground. NEXUS (8) - contact first turn.
Race 10	Leonard Bale Stakes - C3/4 - 527	OPAWA MAGIC (2) - checked first turn shifting out off heels making solid contact becoming badly unbalanced losing ground. SPRING QUEEN (3) - bumped racing into the first turn. PLATINUM EARNER (4) - checked first turn then hampered becoming badly unbalanced losing all chance. Veterinary examination revealed right deep pectoral tear with a 21 day stand down imposed. JINJA JAY (5) - hampered first turn becoming unbalanced. Race 11	Trojan Hoarse Sprint - C4/5 - 318	The start of this event was delayed due to handler Y Castro arriving late to the kennel block to retrieve DOES HE EXIST. Y Castro was subsequently issued with a Minor Infringement Notice and fined $50.00 under Rule 47.2. PORTLAND WONDER (1) - checked first turn shifting out off heels coming together with DOES HE EXIST then raced wide for the remainder of the event. BLITZ 'EM RENE (2) - collided first turn. PODIUM PHOBIA (3) - slow away then bumped. Collided first turn. FOREGO (4) - collided start losing ground. BOTANY THOMMO (5) - bumped start then hampered losing ground. ELECTRIC DANCER (6) - bumped start then shifted in onto BOTANY THOMMO. Raced wide. FRANKY THE JETT (7) - bumped start. DOES HE EXIST (8) - bumped start. Contact first turn getting taken wider.
Race 12	Carol's TAB Taipa Tavern Sprint - C1 - 318	KAI NAN (1) - raced in restricted room to the inside of PARIS END for a distance rounding the bend making brief contact then unable to obtain clear racing room throughout the final straight. SMASH OUT (2) - slow away. Improved through a marginal run rounding the bend making contact. HARDCORE KOBE (3) - began awkwardly. Contacted rounding the bend losing ground. PARIS END (4) - brief contact final bend. KURIDRANI (6) - contacted from behind first turn. STAY RICH (7) - collided after the start. MIDNIGHT FAITH (8) - collided after the start. Contacted hindquarters first turn becoming badly unbalanced losing ground quickly.
