Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: 1) BIGTIME THOR (R & N O'Regan) successfully completed a satisfactory trial wearing blinkers.

2) Mrs G Farrell was issued with an official warning when failing to catch CANADIAN ACE (race 9 #3)

3) Prior to the start of race 8 the Starter inadvertently allowed the first line of Greyhounds to box without being given the all clear to do so by the Judge. The Greyhounds were removed from the boxes and checked by the vet and cleared to start. Following discussions with the Judge and the Starter, Stewards determined that this was due to a communication error and no further action was deemed necessary.

This meeting was closed to public due to Government restrictions surrounding Covid - 19 and was run under Greyhound Racing New Zealand Work Safe Covid - 19 protocols for Level 2.

Raced wide for the majority of the event. RAPINOE (8) - angled towards the rail at the start, contacting PRIDEFUL shortly after the start.

STARBURST ALBY (3) - brushed JUST NIA shortly after the start. Buffeted MIDNIGHT FAITH nearing the bend. Squeezed between runners entering the bend. JUST NIA (4) - brushed STARTBURST ALBY shortly after the start, in turn bumped SMASH OUT. Contacted from behind nearing the bend. Tightened on the point of the bend, losing some ground. SMASH OUT (5) - bumped shortly after the start, then squeezed BLACK BRIDGE, losing ground as a result. Coursed wide through the home straight. BLACK BRIDGE (6) - squeezed between runners shortly after the start. Bumped SHAMBI'S GIRL entering the home straight when attempting to move towards the rail. SHAMBI'S GIRL (7) - squeezed BLACK BRIDGE shortly after the start. Contacted JUST NIA from behind nearing the bend. Tightened JUST NIA on the point of the bend. Race 3	Waterloo Cup Day 18 October Stakes - C1 - 527	KAPAI CHRIS (3) - bumped INDI SHAE at the start. Tightened entering the first bend, losing some ground. Raced wide at various stages throughout. MITCHAM GREG (4) - tightened KAPAI CHRIS entering the first bend. REACT RESPOND (7) - raced wide at various stages. INDI SHAE (9/2) - bumped at the start. Awkwardly placed on heels entering the final bend, and again nearing the home straight, needing to check off heels to gain clear racing room.
Race 4	Greyhounds North Graduation Distance - C1d - 603	BOYKA (2) - bumped from behind entering the final bend. GO ANGEL (3) - raced wide through the back straight. Contacted from behind nearing the home straight. Tightened entering the home straight, becoming unbalanced and losing ground. THEA WHO (4) - bumped entering the home straight on the first occasion. Bumped nearing the winning post on the first occasion. Contacted OPAWA GONZO entering the first bend. Raced wide through the back straight. Unbalanced entering the home straight, tightening GO ANGEL. OPAWA GONZO (5) - squeezed VIBE shortly after the start. Bumped THEA WHO entering the home straight and at the winning post on the first occasion. Contacted entering the first bend, becoming unbalanced and moving up the track momentarily. Bumped from behind entering the final bend. VIBE (6) - squeezed between runners shortly after the start. Race 6	Mayhounds Greyhound Rehoming Group Sprint - C1 - 318	There was a short delay to the start of this event due to a communication breakdown between the judge and the starter. MY BRO BOBBY (2) - brushed MALLORCA shortly after the start. Tightened entering the bend, losing ground as a result. AUDRETTE (3) - coursed wide through the latter stages of the bend and through the home straight. MALLORCA (4) - began awkwardly. Brushed MY BRO BOBBY shortly after the start. Tightened MY BRO BOBBY entering the bend. Tightened on the point of the bend, losing ground. FLYING HUEY (5) - bumped shortly after the start. Tightened MALLORCA on the point of the bend. A post race veterinary examination was carried out which revealed no injuries. PLATINUM SPIRIT (5) - began awkwardly. MY SNUGGLES (7) - severely inconvenienced nearing the bend, and out of contention thereafter. A post race veterinary examination was carried out which revealed no injuries. TRIBAL CONQUEST (8) - tightened SWEET CLOVER nearing the bend.
