Palmerston North GRC - 14th July 2020.

The Racing Integrity Unit have concluded their investigation into the Lure Driver Mr Mark Beeson making himself unavailable to drive the lure for Races 11 and 12 and the failure of the Palmerston North GRC to have a second Lure Driver in attendance at the above meeting. As a result of the enquires the following charges were issued by the Racing Integrity Unit and penalties imposed by the Judicial Control Authority.

1). Mr Beeson was issued with and admitted breaching GRNZ Rule 62.1(q) in that his conduct was detrimental or prejudicial to the interest, welfare, image, control or promotion of Greyhound racing with a fine of $1500.00 being imposed.

2). The Palmerston North GRC was issued with and admitted breaching GRNZ Rule 49.2 in that they failed to have a second Lure Driver in attendance at the meeting with a fine of $1250.00 being imposed.

The JCA have given their decision regarding trainer J T McInerney presenting HOMEBUSH CAPTAIN down 1.6kgs inside the allowable 28 day period from its most recent start on the 28th July 2020. The decision of the committee was that Mr McInerney was guilty of breaching GRNZ Rule 45.11 and as a consequence imposed a fine of $300.00.

This meeting was run under Level 2 Government restrictions and Greyhound Racing New Zealand Work Safe Covid-19 protocols.

Judicial Report:

1) Trainer B Goldsack has advised Stewards that RAINING SIXES has been retired.

2) JILLIBY LITSA (L Cole) race 6 #5 was charged pursuant with Rule 55.1(b), Failing To Pursue, and stood down for 28 days and to complete a satisfactory trial (first offence).

Squeezed BIGTIME SAM then buffeted ALLEGRO VEY nearing the bend when attempting to move up the track. Coursed wide through the home straight. ARTHUR'S CROWN (3) - began very awkwardly, losing several lengths and settling at the rear of the field. A post race veterinary examination was carried out which revealed no injuries. OPAWA FLASH (4) - inconvenienced at the start. BIGTIME SAM (5) - squeezed between runners at the start. Squeezed between runners nearing the bend. ALLEGRO VEY (6) - squeezed BIGTIME SAME at the start. Buffeted nearing the bend. ALLEGRO KYLE (7) - tightened IDOL DUKE entering the bend. Tightened on the point of the bend, losing ground as a result. BIG TIME DAWSON (8) - raced wide through the back straight. Tightened ALLEGRO KYLE on the point of the bend when moving to the lead.
Race 2	AON CPF INSURANCE C2 - C2 - 305	BIG TIME HAZEL (1) - began awkwardly, bumping BIG TIME DUSTY at the start. Jostled with CHECKPOINT shortly after entering the home straight, becoming unbalanced and scrambling for a few strides. BIG TIME DUSTY (2) - brushed MIDNIGHT MOLLY, then bumped at the start. Bumped nearing the bend. MIDNIGHT MOLLY (3) - brushed BIG TIME DUSTY at the start. Bumped BIG TIME DUSTY nearing the bend. Squeezed HOMEBUSH MANDY entering the bend. HOMEBUSH MANDY (4) - squeezed between runners entering the bend, becoming unbalanced and moving up the track and losing ground, in turn dictating the racing line of PUNCH ON SCOOBY. BORN QUICK (5) - buffeted CHECKPOINT shortly after the start. CHECKPOINT (6) - buffeted shortly after the start. Squeezed HOMEBUSH MANDY entering the bend. Unbalanced entering the home straight, jostling with BIG TIME HAZEL shortly after entering the home straight. PUNCH ON SCOOBY (7) - awkwardly placed behind runners nearing the bend. Had racing line dictated and forced wide entering the bend, losing a considerable amount of ground and out of contention thereafter.
Race 3	KERNOW CONSTRUCTION C2 - C2 - 305	FUNZALO (1) - contacted PUNCH ON RUBY entering the home straight. Bumped PUNCH ON RUBY nearing the winning post. PUNCH ON RUBY (2) - contacted entering the home straight. Bumped nearing the winning post. RETALLICK (3) - slow away. Bumped shortly after the start. Tightened entering the bend, appearing to contact the rail. A post race veterinary examination was carried out which revealed no injuries. MICKEY MOWHAWK (6) - tightened RETALLICK entering the bend. OPAWA MARCIE (7) - raced wide at various stages throughout. DOTTIE BELL (8) - coursed wide through the home straight. SAHARA DREAM (9/4) - began awkwardly. Bumped RETALLICK shortly after the start.
Race 4	AVENUE KINGSGATE HOTEL C1/2 - C1/2 - 520	GOLDSTAR HADLEE (1) - slow away. Contacted LIONEL KEEPING from behind entering the first bend. Awkwardly placed behind runners entering the home straight, losing some momentum. YOUNG DUMB BROKE (2) - squeezed SKINNY BINNY nearing the first bend. Bumped BIG TIME SPOT on the point of the first bend. SKINNY BINNY (3) - squeezed between runners nearing the first bend. Awkwardly placed behind runners nearing the home straight and unable to find clear racing room before bumping MY KHLOE entering the home straight. BIG TIME SPOT (4) - squeezed SKINNY BINNY nearing the first bend, then contacted LIONEL KEEPING. Bumped on the point of the first bend. Raced wide through the back straight. Tightened BIG TIME EDEN on the point of the final bend. LIONEL KEEPING (5) - buffeted nearing the winning post on the first occasion. Contacted nearing the first bend, stumbling and losing some ground. Contacted from behind entering the first bend. A post race veterinary examination was carried out which revealed no injuries. BIG TIME EDEN (6) - slow away. Brushed MY KHLOE entering the first bend. Tightened on the point of the final bend, losing some momentum. Out of contention thereafter. A post race veterinary examination was carried out which revealed no injuries. BIG TIME BILLIE (2) - bumped shortly after the start, the buffeted ALLEGRO FERN on several occasions shortly after the start and before the bend. Tightened ALLEGRO FERN entering the bend. A post race veterinary examination was carried out which revealed no injuries. MORTON KEEPING (3) - bumped BIG TIME BILLIE shortly after the start. BIG TIME CHANCE (4) - slow away. Race 6	HAPPY BIRTHDAY "QUINN MAILMAN" STAKES C3 - C3 - 520	BIGTIME ALFIE was a late scratching at kenneling on vets advice. ALLEGRO LANIE (2) - contacted JILLIBY LITSA entering the first bend. BIG TIME AMIE (3) - heavily contacted shortly after the start. Tightened at the winning post on the first occasion, becoming unbalanced and squeezing GO GLOW. Bumped COSSIE COOPER entering the first bend. Unbalanced entering the bend, contacted GO GLOW. Raced wide at various stages throughout. JILLIBY LITSA (5) - heavily contacted BIG TIME AMIE shortly after the start. Contacted entering the first bend. Turned her head towards HAIDEE BALE nearing the winning post for several strides and charged pursuant with Rule 55.1(b) in that she voluntarily turned her head free of interference without making muzzle contact. Stood down for 28 days and to complete a satisfactory trial (first offence). A post race veterinary examination was carried out which revealed no injuries. GO GLOW (6) - squeezed between runners nearing the winning post on the first occasion. Contacted entering the first bend. COSSIE COOPER (7) - squeezed GO GLOW nearing the winning post on the first occasion. Bumped entering the first bend.
Race 7	ADEPT ACCOUNTANTS C4 - C4 - 520	NOVO OLLIE (1) - squeezed BIG TIME HARPER shortly after the start. Raced wide through the back straight. CLASSIC RAPPER (2) - slow away. BIG TIME HARPER (3) - contacted from behind at the start. Squeezed between runners shortly after the start, eventually losing ground entering the first bend and bumping BIG TIME ODETTE. Checked SIMPLY SMOOTH from behind entering the final bend. MISS POTENTIAL (4) - contacted BIG TIME HARPER from behind at the start. Squeezed BIG TIME LORNA and DOOMSDAY entering the bend, then dragged down, almost falling, inconveniencing JUSTA GIFT and checking ALLEGRO PIPPA. A post race veterinary examination was carried out which revealed grazed and bruised thigh.

ALLEGRO ELLA (3) - contacted GIRAFFE CLUB from behind, entering the bend, becoming unbalanced and losing ground. DOUBLE WHAT (4) - slow away. Tightened nearing the bend, losing ground as a result. Bumped IDOL ZIGGY entering the home straight. IDOL ZIGGY (5) - placed in restricted room shortly after the start, losing some momentum. Bumped entering the home straight. Raced wide through the home straight. BIG TIME SMILE (6) - tightened DOUBLE WHAT nearing the bend. VIKING ASH (7) - raced wide through the home straight.
