• This meeting was closed to public due to Government restrictions surrounding Covid - 19 and was run under Greyhound Racing New Zealand Work Safe Covid - 19 protocols.

JUDICIAL REPORT:

Following a mechanical failure with the 457 metre boxes in race 3 all 457 metre races were hand started.

Inconvenienced first turn shifting off heels. ATTILA'S ARROW (4) - collided after the start. Tightened and hampered first turn becoming unbalanced and falling. Veterinary examination revealed no abnormality with a 5 day stand down imposed. CHONG LAI (5) - collided after the start. Inconvenienced first turn shifting off heels. CLEVER ESTER (6) - slow away then inconvenienced. Checked first turn losing considerable ground. GO HOME DUKE (7) - tightened after the start shifting in making contact. Angled in first turn making contact. SHAYNEE (8) - angled in after the start making contact.
Race 2	Fond Foods Ltd Sprint - C1 - 375	WINBOURN FREDDY (1) - tightened making contact first turn getting forced onto the running rail losing considerable ground. Veterinary examination was not carried out due to a communication error. Trainer S Codlin undertook to advise of anything that becomes apparent in coming days. STELLAR BABE (2) - contact for a distance first turn losing ground. Veterinary examination revealed grazed left hind with a 5 day stand down imposed. GET ME HOME (3) - slow away. KAPAI CHRIS (6) - slow away. HUA HUA (8) - slow away.
Race 3	Affordable Pet Accessories Stakes - C1 - 457	Due to a mechanical failure the boxes failed to activate with all runners removed to undergo veterinary examinations. All runners were passed fit to start. The boxes were tested and failed to open with this race manually started. Stewards reviewed the footage of the lure positioning when the boxes were activated marginally early. Stewards were satisfied no runner had been materially affected as a result. FERNANDO CHARM (2) - slow away. Tightened making contact back straight. Tightened and checked first turn. THRILLING IZZY (4) - collided after the start. DOBBY WHO (5) - contact back straight getting forced inwards onto FERNANDO CHARM. Inconvenienced first turn shifting wider. LITTLE TEEGS (6) - collided after the start. Angled in back straight making contact. Contact first turn. DIGNITY DENTED (8) - slow away. Inconvenienced first turn shifting wider.
Race 4	Happy Birthday Sarah Cockburn - C2 - 375	BUSY FLASH (2) - inconvenienced final bend. HI HO TONTO (3) - slow away. Checked first turn losing ground. OPAWA NEMO (4) - tightened after the start. Tightened first turn. Shifted wide final bend. TOMMY THE JETT (5) - Collided for a distance first turn. IN FOCUS (6) - tightened and hampered first turn losing ground. NOAH WHO (7) - slow away. MY BRO BOBBY (3) - tightened and checked first turn. OPAWA QUEEN (4) - collided for several strides rounding the bend losing ground. Contact entering the final straight. Bumped concluding stages. TAP OUT REG (5) - collided start. Tightened making brief contact first turn. Contact entering the final straight. Bumped concluding stages. GINNY WEASLEY (6) - collided start. Bumped rounding the bend. JUST MADDIE (7) - slow away. BOBBLE (8) - began awkwardly losing ground.

THRILLING DORA (4) - contact start losing ground. Shifted out off heels first turn making contact. Inconvenienced entering the final straight shifting wider. JINJA LAD (5) - contact start losing ground. LITTLE APPLE (6) - bumped on two occasions after the start. Bumped first turn and dictated wider losing ground. FANCY (7) - bumped on two occasions after the start. Dictated wider first turn.
Race 7	Happy Birthday Danny Laing - C2 - 375	ENJOY THE PERKS (1) - tightened making contact for a distance first turn losing ground. Improved into a marginal run rounding the bend making brief contact. FALL GRACEFULLY (2) - collided for a distance after the start losing ground. Checked for a distance first turn shifting out off heels making contact. KAPAI STEWIE (3) - collided for a distance after the start. Tightened making contact for a distance first turn losing ground. BIGTIME JACOB (5) - tightened making contact start losing ground. Collided first turn. OUR HOTROD (6) - tightened making contact start. Contact for a distance first turn losing ground. ODNOC ANKIE (2) - contact start. Checked first turn. SEE EYE BE (3) - contact start. Checked first turn shifting wide losing ground then raced wide for the remainder of the event. Veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. SUSPICIOUS MINDS (4) - faltered first turn going back through the field quickly. Veterinary examination revealed torn left hind gracilis with a 28 day stand down imposed. Connections advised would now be retired from racing. JINJA MURPHY (5) - checked first turn. TUFF'S MY MUM (6) - jostled rounding the bend. GRUNT (8) - contacted early in the final straight.
Race 9	Superior Chunky Dog Rolls Sprint - C5 - 375	ZIPPING BUDDY (2) - contact back straight. TROJAN'S MAGIC (3) - tightened making contact for a distance throughout the back straight and entering the first turn losing ground. Collided final bend becoming unbalanced. THRILLING TALK (4) - tightened making contact for a distance throughout the back straight and entering the first turn losing ground. TYPICAL (5) - tightened making contact for a distance throughout the back straight and entering the first turn losing ground. RAGING DEMON (6) - angled in making contact for a distance back straight and rounding the first turn losing ground. RELEVANCE (7) - contact for several strides back straight and again first turn. Collided final bend.
Race 10	Farmlands Virkon Stakes - C2/3 - 457	Stewards withheld the payment of dividends following this event after reviewing footage of the lure position when the boxes were manually activated. After reviewing footage Stewards were satisfied no runner had been materially affected. The Starter was shown the footage. OPAWA LIGHT (1) - slow away. THRILLING MORRIS (2) - bumped back straight. DIG DIG DIG (3) - bumped back straight. Collided first turn losing ground. Contact rounding the bend. FROSTY BLAZE (4) - jostled for a distance first turn losing ground. Shifted out off heels rounding the bend. WAITERIMU RIPPER (5) - slow away. Collided first turn. THRILLING RAZOR (6) - slow away. Jostled for a distance first turn. FEAR THE FUR (7) - slow away.
