SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT:

Christchurch GRC - 17th January 2020.

1). VASTERBOTTENOST (A Lee) - Ms Lee advised Stewards that this greyhound had returned to her kennel and was found to have extensive bruising to its left gracilis muscle which necessitated it's scratching from today's meeting.

JUDICIAL REPORT:

1). GOLDSTAR SMITHIE (S & B Evans) - presented down 2.1kgs from it's last race start on the 3rd January 2020. Referred to the JCA sine die due to this being a fourth breach of GRNZ Rule 45.11 from this kennel in the preceding 120 days.

Race 1	TAB Bonus Back Promo on Races 1 & 2 Stakes - C0 - 520	CANCUN (1) - shifted up the track early stages colliding with BUGSY BROWN. Continued to jostle with BUGSY BROWN entering the bend. Obligated to check off heels shortly afterwards shifting up the track as a consequence and becoming awkwardly positioned to the inside of OHOKA MEGAN, being turned inwards and unable to rebalance and correct its momentum eventually leaving the track. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury. OHOKA MEGAN (8) - awkwardly positioned to the hind quarters of CANCUN entering the bend being forced wide and off the track losing its chance. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury. BUGSY BROWN (9/4) - contacted from the inside early stages by CANCUN. Continued to jostled with CANCUN entering the first bend.
Race 2	The Fitz Sports Bar Stakes - C0 - 520	MISS MALIA (1) - collided with HAZE ADAMS on jumping. HAZE ADAMS (2) - squeezed for racing room on jumping. MAKING NEWS (3) - collided with HAZE ADAMS on jumping. CHELSEA SMILE (5) - lost balance when leaving the starting mat. OPAWA TRAVIS (6) - slow to jump. Hampered and lost momentum entering the first bend. MY BENTLEY (7) - checked and lost balance and ground entering the first bend hampering OPAWA TRAVIS. Continued to lose ground with the field thereafter. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury. OPAWA NASH (8) - faltered rounding the first bend becoming awkward in its gait and racing wide. Referred to the Veterinarian where it was reported to have a carpus sprain.
Race 3	Murray & Hannah @ Ray White Cashmere Dash - C0 - 295	KING THEODEN (4) - slow early. GOLDSTAR SMITHIE (9/3) - raced 2.1kgs down from it's last race start. Stewards questioned the weight loss and the improved performance of this greyhound. Kennel Representative K Wylie could offer no reason for the weight loss however advised that it had benefited from a favourable box draw and unimpeded run in a small field.
Race 4	Amber Cleaning Services Sprint - C0 - 295	GO KIKI (1) - shifted up the track in the run to the bend. Jostled with SEA SPRAY ASH entering the bend. WHITE ROXY (2) - awkwardly positioned on heels rounding the bend and lost all momentum. KNOW ANGEL (4) - checked off heels rounding the bend. Stewards questioned the improved performance of this bitch. Trainer G Cleeve could only offer that it had received some luck during the running. MITCHAM TODDY (5) - squeezed for racing room entering the bend having to check off the heels of PONTIAC PAT. SEA SPRAY ASH (7) - jostled with GO KIKI entering the bend. Held up rounding the bend checking inwards off heels. PONTIAC PAT (8) - shifted down the track entering the bend placing MITCHAM TODDY in tight quarters and being check as a consequence.
Race 5	Thursday Place Pick Sprint - C0 - 295	HOMEBUSH JOZIE (2) - checked from behind entering the bend losing ground. Referred to the Veterinarian and cleared of injury. KNOCKA KNOW HOW (3) - contacted from the outside by HOMEBUSH BARCLAY in the run to the bend. GINGER CRACKER (5) - came up with the lid and missed the jump settling last. HOMEBUSH BARCLAY (6) - collided with KNOCK KNOW HOW in the run to the bend. Lost momentum when placed on heels entering the bend.
Race 6	Active Electrical Christchurch Dash Heat 1 - C2q - 295 Heat 1	RAQUEL ALLEN (2) - held up for racing room rounding the bend losing ground. OHOKA LACEY (3) - slow early. Hampered rounding the bend. KNOW LOGIC (5) - checked outwards off heels exiting the bend racing wide through the run home. RUM GIN MIXER (6) - checked off heels early stages hampering the running of SHAW WINNER. SOZIN'S BLUE (7) - checked and lost ground rounding the bend hampering trailing runners. SHAW WINNER (8) - slow early. Hampered by RUM GIN MIXER early stages.
Race 7	Active Electrical Christchurch Dash Heat 2 - C2q - 295 Heat 2	GOLDSTAR FLORA (3) - placed in tight quarters entering the bend and lost ground. MEMPHIS JEWEL (5) - hampered when squeezed between runners early stages. Again hampered entering the bend. HOMEBUSH COMET (6) - awkwardly placed on heels entering the bend.
Race 8	Active Electrical Christchurch Dash Heat 3 - C2q - 295 Heat 3	TONKAWA (1) - boxed first. Placed on heels and had to steady entering the bend losing ground. CISCO REIGN (5) - awkwardly placed on heels rounding the bend.
Race 9	Christchurch Casino Stakes - C2 - 520	SHERMO BALE (10) was a late scratching after being found to be lame prior to being transported to the track. OPHELIA ALLEN (3) - contacted from the outside early stages. Referred to the Veterinarian where it was reported to have a grazed stopper pad. QUEENA BALE (4) - hampered early stages. JOE BONANZA (5) - boxed first. Hampered early stages. ORINA ALLEN (6) - contacted from the outside early stages hampering the running line of inside greyhunds before colliding with OPHE:AI BALE. VIKTORIA VIKKERS (8) - shifted down the track abruptly on jumping colliding with ORINA ALLEN. Awkwardly positioned on heels prior to the final bend.
Race 10	Active Electrical Christchurch Dash Heat 4 - C2q - 295 Heat 4	DYNA TREVOR (4) - forced down the track early stages before being squeezed for racing room. GOLDSTAR JAY JAY (5) - checked from behind prior to the bend losing ground. DON'T CRY JONI (6) - squeezed for racing room entering the bend climbing on heels and losing ground.
Race 11	Active Electrical Christchurch Dash Heat 5 - C2q - 295 Heat 5	GOLDSTAR WYNTER (1) - forced down the track early stages. HIGH VIOLET (2) - bumped with OPAWA WAIHEMO early stages. Bumped with OPAWA WAIHEMO in the run to the bend. OPAWA WAIHEMO (3) - racing line impeded early stages. Placed in tight quarters shortly afterwards losing momentum. COSMIC MARTY (4) - racing line impeded early stages. SMASH REBEL (5) - shifted down the track early stages placing pressure on inside runners. Checked off heels entering the bend.
Race 12	Active Electrical Christchurch Dash Heat 6 - C2q - 295 Heat 6	MITCHAM READO (3) - checked outwards off heels exiting the bend. KNOW CAUSE (8) - considerably slow to jump.
