Track: Good . Following Race 3 a check was made by Stewards to ensure the lure was placed at a correct distance from the starting boxes in accordance with Rule 50.1 (not more than 100m) and speed was correct to enable the lure to reach the starting boxes approximately 7 seconds after being set in motion. After discussion with the Lure Driver the lure action was monitored for all subsequent races and the timing was found to be in line with the requirements of Rule 50.1.

Health and Safety comment: Nil.

Judicial report: FORKNER BALE and PENALTY BALE(C.Roberts) had endorsements for marring under Rule 55.1 cancelled in accordance with Rule 55.7 after completing ten clear races since the offence.

DAVE'S PICK (5) - ran inwards from the jump tightening runner to inside. Checked into turn and held up trailing runner. FORKNER BALE (8) - ran inwards into turn checking runner to inside and then also checked on the turn losing momentum and dictated wide. VALYRIAN STEEL (6) - tightened into turn and ran wide losing ground. GOLDSTAR SAWYER (9/3) - pushed inwards into the turn checking runner to inside.
Race 2	INDEPENDENCE DAY DASH - C1/2 - 390	JOEY BAXTER (1) - heels clipped into turn becoming unbalanced and losing ground quickly, with a resulting check to the trailing runner. A post race veterinary check revealed no injury. JINJA RULES (2) - ran wide on turn then checked in straight and gave ground to finish last. A post race veterinary check revealed cramping post race but no injur and no stand down recommended. IDOL STAR (4) - shifted ground outwards in straight checking runner to outside. NIPPA EEL (5) - bumped from jump becoming unbalanced and losing momentum. Checked into turn. GOLDSTAR TU PUC (6) - jumped awkwardly losing momentum early then became bumped dowg to inside. TRENDY BLAKE (7) clipped another runner's heels into the turn.
Race 3	YANKEE DOODLE SPRINT - C1 - 390	ROYAL ACTION (1) - jumped awkwardly losing momentum. CAWBOURNE MURF (4) - dictated inwards into the turn checking runner to inside. STORMY SUNDAY (5) - checked into the turn. DETECTIVE DASH (7) - crossed over into the turn dictating runner inwards. THESEUS (8) - ran wide throughout.
Race 4	NZ Racing Series Novice Heats - NZRSq - 457 Heat 1	IDOL JAZZ (2) - jumped awkwardly losing ground early. GRANNY MAGNET (3) - checked from jump. HOMEBUSH IVANA (6) - bumped and checked from jump, with resulting check to trailing runner. GOLDSTAR DODGE (7) - ran inwards from the jump bumping and cheking runner to inside. OPAWA TAB (8) - slow to jump.
Race 5	SOUTHLAND & OTAGO PHOTO FINISH - C2/3 - 457	No racing incidents.
Race 6	NZ Racing Series Novice Heats - NZRSq - 457 Heat 2	AD'S SPICE (2) - ran outwards from the jump checking runners to outside. Continued to push outwards in run to the turn bumping runner to outside and losing ground. GOLDSTAR PHELPS (3) - checked from the jump and again in run to the turn. PRINCELY GOLD (4) - checked from the jump and thenbumped and checked in run to the turn with resulting check to trailing runner. JUNK MAIL (5) - slow to jump. DAVE'S DOT (7) - ran wide on the turn.
Race 7	MISSISSIPPI DISTANCE - C2d - 630	WAIMAC (2) - slow to jump. GOLDSTAR AVERY (6) - jumped awkwardly losing ground early.
Race 8	BENJAMIN FRANKLIN SPRINT - C1/2 - 390	SUPER BAD (2) - shifted outwards into the turn checking trailing runner. HOMEBUSH SCRIBE (7) - slow to jump. DYNA BEVLIN (9/4) - checked into the turn.
Race 9	NZ Racing Series Novice Heats - NZRSq - 457 Heat 3	TRUMPED (3) - jumped awkwardly losing ground early. NO TINKERBELL (4) - ran wide in the straight. OPAWA SPIRIT (5) - tightened between runners in run to the turn and lost ground. LUCIASTAR (7) - checked in run to the turn. AVALANCH CITY (8) - pushed inwards in run to the turn checking runner to inside.
Race 10	MR WHIPPY SOUTHLAND - C4/5 - 457	SEA FEVER (2) - checked on turn losing ground. JUSTIN RYAN (3) - rear clipped into turn, becoming unbalanced and losing ground. Shifted inwards on turn checking runner to inside. MAJESTIC ACTION (4) - tightened into turn and then clipped rear of another runner fell taking no competitive part in the race. A post race veterinary check revealed general muscle soreness with a 4 day stand down recommended. HOWIE BALE (6) - slow to jump then shifted inwards into turn checking runner to inside.
Race 11	BOSTON TEA PARTY SPRINT - C5 - 390	OPAWA BINGE (5) - checked at the jump. WHEELCHAIR NORM (7) - ran inwards into turn checking runner to inside. PUMA PANTS (9/6) - ran inwards from jump checking runner to inside then checked into turn.
Race 12	RACING AGAIN 18TH JULY - C3/4 - 390	SOUTHERN MIST (2) - bumped and checked in run to the turn losing ground. COSMIC RICHIE (3) - shifted inwards in run to the turn and became un balanced when bumping runner to inside. OITY ALLEN (6) - shifted outwards on turn checking trailing runner. FROSTY ACTION (7) - checked on turn. SUPER STEVIE (8) - jumped awkwardly losing momentum early.
