Judicial report: 1). 10 January 2017 - Southland GRC Race 4 GREYHOUNDSASPETS.ORG.NZ 390M - The connections of GUMP'S MY NAME have advised the dog has been retired after sustaining a hock injury during the running of this event.

2). Trainer R Blackburn was issued a $50.00 infringement notice for failing to produce the registration certificate for DIXIE MISS (Race 3).

3). Stewards spoke with several trainers and reminded them of their obligations regarding kenneling by the prescribed time.

4). UNFOUNDED (McCook/Jopson) was stood down pending a satisfactory trial after turning in the boxes in Race 6.

Race 2	DogZone Dash - C1 - 295	ROYAL ACTION (1) - began awkwardly. EPIC FORCE (3) - awkwardly placed between runners entering bend. BRONSON JEWEL (4) - squeezed for racing room early stages and lost ground. NO BIFFO (6) - bumped from outside at the start. Squeezed for racing room early stages and lost ground. OHOKA TYLER (7) - came down track at the start and bumped inside runner. Checked and had to change stride entering bend.
Race 3	Coalgate Tavern Sprint - C1 - 295	COSMIC CHELSEA (1) - bumped from outside early stages. KELLY'S BOY (2) - boxed first. RUNNIN' CLOGGS (3) - came in a bounced off inside runner early stages. ANOTHER SPIN (4) - bumped from outside in run to bend.
Race 4	Chris & Lisa Earl Stakes - C1 - 520	OPAWA BUCKS EYE (1) - squeezed for room entering the bend losing ground. FAIR PIPPA (2) - dictated down track early stages. TRANSLATOR (3) - placed in restricted room entering first bend and made contact with running rail. Referred to the vet - No injury detected. FLAMING SAMBUCA (6) - came down track early stages. Weakened final bend.
Race 5	Goldstar Racing Dash - C1 - 295	BIGTIME TIP (4) - obliged to check off heels and change ground early stages. SMASH LILLY (5) - came down track early stages obliging inside runner to change ground. Made entrance to home straight awkwardly. WHAT"S WONG (6/9) - bumped from outside entering bend. Awkwardly placed to the outside of runners shortly afterwards and lost ground. IDOL STAR (7) - came down track making contact with inside runner entering bend. Obliged to check outwards off heels exiting bend. GO TOMMO (8) - raced wide rounding bend.
Race 6	Clarkson Sign Studio Sprint - C1 - 295	UNFOUNDED (1) - turned in the boxes and took no part. Stood down pending box trial. OPAWA SHELDON (4) - boxed first. TRAVIS BICKLE (7) - awkwardly placed on heels rounding bend. G
Race 7	Shirley Vet Clinic Stakes - C1 - 520	CAWBOURNE ERU (1) - bumped from outside prior to first bend. Checked entering first bend losing ground. Referred to vet - Stood down 21 days for a split right front dew claw and swollen left hind sesamoid. GOLDSTAR MILEY (2) - squeezed for room early stages. DRAXLER (3) - contacted inside runner prior to first bend. Checked rounding first bend losing ground. ANOTHER MESSAGE (5) - dragged down first bend and lost all momentum before receiving several checks shortly afterwards.Referred to vet - No injury detected. GOLDSTAR DODGE (6) - placed in restricted room entering first bend losing ground before receiving several bumps rounding first bend. OPAWA CHEVIOT (8) - forced wide rounding first bend.
Race 8	Business Time At Stud Dash - C1 - 295	HANNAH RHIANNON (3) - squeezed for racing room entering bend and lost ground. BOTANY DIANNE (4) - check outwards off heels rounding bend. OHOKA HUNTER (6) - received a significant bump from the outside prior to the bend before being awkwardly placed on heels and having to check. Referred to vet - Cleared of injury. ROAD BLOCK (7) - came down track in run to bend bumping with inside runner. Checked and lost ground rounding bend.
Race 9	Greyhounds As Pets Sprint - C1 - 295	MY HOKI (1) - lost ground when placed in restricted room entering bend. TIME SLAYER (3) - boxed first. Placed in restricted room entering bend and had to check. Referred to vet - Cleared of injury. ROYAL DESCENT (4) - boxed first. Came up with the lid and lost its chance. SETTLE GRETTEL (5) -Dragged down entering bend. referred to vet -Cleared of injury. HOMEBUSH BANKER (7) - came down track entering bend placing pressure on inside runners.
Race 10	Spectator's Bar & Bistro Stakes - C1 - 520	VIKINGS (3) - came up the track early stages. Weakened concluding stage and subsequently found to have tied up. Co-Trainer D Fahey advised it was his intention to increase the dogs work load in an attempt to rectify this. OPAWA PENNY (4) - forced up the track early stages NARITI (5) - squeezed and lost ground early stages. RUSHCUTTER ACTION (6) - placed in restricted room in run to first bend and had to check inwards. GENTLEMAN TIM (7) - squeezed entering first bend and forced up track. CAWBOURNE RIDGE (8) - forced up track rounding first bend.
Race 11	Dave Robbie Photographer Dash - C1 - 295	AD'S SPICE (3) - tripped by falling runner entering the bend and fell to the track. Referred to vet - Cleared of injury. TALK TALK(4) - slow to leave boxes. HATFIELD (5) - checked entering bend losing ground. UNCONSCIONABLE (6) - checked entering bend and lost chance. JINJA LOCH (7) - checked by falling runners entering the bend and fell to the track in consequence. Referred to the vet - Cleared of injury. BELLA JADE (8) - awkwardly placed to the outside of runners entering the bend and fell to the track. Referred to vet - Cleared of injury.
Race 12	Protexin Sprint - C1 - 295	STARRY BAXTER (1) - placed in restricted room entering bend and lost ground. EUG THE SCROOGE (2) - squeezed for room entering bend losing ground. GOLDSTAR TU PUC (3) - squeezed for room entering bend losing ground. TILT (4) - squeezed for room entering bend. CUT THE RIBBONS (5) - came down the track in run to bend placing pressure on inside runners. SMASH FIRE (6) - awkwardly placed between runners and steadied. COOL DEXTER (8) - began awkwardly and settled last.
