Track: Good The track was presented in good order but did require some extra attention from the Curators during the evening to be maintained in good racing order and this was due to the hot drying conditions.

Race 1	ABSOLUTELY ELECTRICAL C2 - C2 - 305	CAWBOURNE MIDGET (5) - Galloped on another runner entering the home straight and lost momentum. BIGTIME THINKER (6) - Was hampered from behind entering the home straight but recovered well to go on and win the race. CAWBOURNE DORA (8) - Was checked going into the bend and almost fell, losing all chance and stayed back to finish last.
Race 2	FIRST SECURITY C2 Final - C2f - 305	CAWBOURNE CHEZZY (4) - Was checked going into the bend losing ground and stayed back to finish 5th. LEKTRA SPIDER (6) - Jostled going to the first turn, was unbalanced but made up ground for 2nd place. THRILLING BERRY (7) - Was jostled and unbalanced going to the first turn but recovered to finish in 3rd place. HU XIAN (8) - Was checked going into the bend, went back to the rear and stayed there for the remainder.
Race 3	ADEPT ACCOUNTANTYS WANGANUI C2 Ht1 - C2q - 520 Heat 1	BOSTON LIGHTNING (7) - Bumped together for a short distance on the first bend and lost momentum. ON THE CLOCK (8) - Bumped together on the first bend and lost momentum and five lengths and he stayed well back for the remainder.
Race 4	DOPEY DOG LASER ENGRAVING C2 Ht2 - C2q - 520 Heat 2	BRONSTER (2) - Was crowded soon after the start losing momentum. Eased going to the first turn losing ground and went back to last where he stayed throughout. Was referred to the Vet for assessment, was found to have gluteal, quadricep and tricep muscle pain but was stood down for 3 months under Rule 79 .1.b for a 2nd offence of failing to pursue the lure and is required to complete a satisfactory trial. ( refer Palmerston North greyhounds judicial 16-1-2017 ) SOARING HAWKE (3) - Was crowded soon after the start losing momentum. CAWBOURNE GUNNA (4) - Was crowded soon after the start losing momentum. Was then checked losing further ground going into the first bend and stayed back. KIRKHAM HARVEY (6) - Was checked going into the first bend but recovered to finish 4th. PACIFIC SUNRISE (9/8) - Was checked going into the first bend and stayed well back.
Race 5	LASER PLUMBING WANGANUI C4/5 - C4/5 - 305	LOVER (3) - Jostled from the start and settled back and stayed there throughout. SPELLING MISTEAK (4) - Jostled from the start and was unbalanced and never recovered and stayed back to finish last. BIG BOY DENO (9/7) - Bumped from the start and settled back and stayed there.
Race 6	AON CPF C2 - C2 - 305	UNO NATHAN (1) - Crowded and tightened adjacent to the rail going to the first corner and lost ground. TOO MUCH SUGAR (2) - Crowded from the outside after the start and tightened back to the rear and stayed back. Made firm contact with the rail and was referred to the Vet and found to have minor abrasions. SUNSET MARJEN (3) - Crowded from the outside after the start and went back to the rear and never recovered. SKY DELIGHT (4) - Tightened and checked after the start and lost ground.
Race 7	WANGANUI TOYOTA C3 - C3 - 305	AMERICANO (1) - Collided going into the bend and was unbalanced losing ground but ran on to finish 3rd. HOLLY BLUE BLOOD (2) - Tightened between runners going into the bend, went back and was galloped on and dragged down. Was referred to the Vet and found to have minor abrasions only. KING'S CALL (3) - Collided going into the bend and was unbalanced losing ground but made up ground for 4th place. OPAWA TOMMO (4) - Bumped and inconvenienced after the start and settled back. Severely checked going into the bend losing several lengths and all chance. FUNKY FREDDY (5) - Bumped and inconvenienced after the start and settled back. Checked going into the bend losing two lengths.
Race 8	WANGANUI CHRONICLE C3 - C3 - 305	BRILLIANT JAYLA (5) - Bumped and forced wide into the bend over extra ground and stayed well back. COOL RYTHM (6) - Jostled for some distance going to the first turn and then checked off heels and shifted out and was inconvenienced. MIDNIGHT ENEMY (7) - Jostled for some distance after the start and then forced wide going into the bend and stayed back to finish last.
Race 9	PALAMOUNTAINS SCIENTIFIC NUTRITION C3/4 - C3/4 - 520	SPARE SOME TIME (6) - Was handy in the early and middle stages but was bumped going to the final bend and drifted to the rear and finished last. Was referred to the Vet as a precaution and cleared of injury.
Race 10	LIQUORLAND WANGANUI C4/5 - C4/5 - 520	CAWBOURNE CLOVER (2) - Collided with another runner going into the first corner, was unbalanced losing several lengths and finished near the rear. CAWBOURNE MEZZA (3) - Collided going into the first corner and was unbalanced losing several lengths and stayed back for the remainder and finished in last place.
Race 11	THE ROCK 95.2FM C4/5 - C4/5 - 305	ROBINS ZARR HOOD (8) - Was the slowest to begin and from box 8, he settled back but made up ground to finish in 5th place.
Race 12	BOOK YOUR FUNCTION @ HATRICK C4 - C4 - 305	DOWNGRADE KING (1) - Jostled for some distance going to the first corner and lost ground but recovered to finish 4th. BIGTIME JESS (3) - Crowded and tightened between runners losing ground after the start. LET'S GO SPRITE (4) - Crowded and tightened between runners after the start and lost ground. RAIN AND TEARS (6) - Jostled soon after the start losing ground and stayed back to finish last.
