Weather: Fine
Track: Good After overnight rain, the track was very marginal to race on when the Stewards arrived 3 hours before the first race. After some discussion, the Curator was of the opinion, that provided the weather remained fine, he felt he had a chance of bringing the track back to a safe racing standard. The decision was made to attempt to improve the track and by 40 minutes prior to race one start time, it was clear that the track was now safe for racing and the meeting was able to proceed. The track was dead early in the program and the weather was cloudy but improved to be a good track and fine weather.

Judicial report: BUDDY SWIFT completed a satisfactory trial which was required under Rule 62. PEEJAY PRINGLES completed 10 clear runs and the registration book was endorsed under Rule 79.7.

DRIFTING ALONG (2) - Jostled for some distance going to the first corner, lost ground back to the rear but made up ground to finish 5th. LACEY SUNDAY (4) - Jostled for some distance going to the first turn, went back to the rear and stayed there for the remainder.
Race 2	WANGANUI CHRONICLE C0 - C0 - 305	CAWBOURNE JEFF (3) - Checked off heels soon after the start and lost momentum for a short distance. BROOKE'S GOT ME (10/5) - Buffeted from both sides after the start and got back where she stayed throughout.
Race 3	LIQUORLAND WANGANUI C0 - C0 - 520	BIGTIME LONESTAR (3) - was referred to the Vet and cleared of injury. LAST MAN ALIVE (5) - Checked losing several lengths going into the first corner but did make up some ground. BIGTIME DIVISION (8) - Checked and lost two lengths entering the back straight and stayed back to finish last.
Race 4	ADEPT ACCOUNTANTS WANGANUI C0 - C0 - 305	PRIDE OF SARAH (1) - Crowded from the outside soon after the start and lost momentum briefly. NIAMH'S WAY (2) - Crowded from the outside after the start and lost momentum briefly. DAISY LARA (3) - Shifted in abruptly from the start and bumped another runner but recovered quickly. UNFLINCHING (8) - Jostled soon after the start and settled back. HOMEBUSH MYRA (10/5) - Jostled after the start and settled back where she stayed throughout.
Race 5	DOPEY DOG LASER ENGRAVING C2 - C2 - 305	BIGTIME TAYLOR (1) - Began well but was bumped a short distance after the start, was unbalanced and dropped back through the field and never recovered.
Race 6	METEOR OPD WANGANUI C0 - C0 - 305	ZIGGY ATTACK (3) - Checked over heels approaching the home straight and lost four lengths. TOMORROW STAR (4) - Jostled and inconvenienced soon after the start and lost ground. ZONIC BLUE (5) - Jostled and unbalanced briefly after the start and stayed back. HOWARD I KNOW ( 7) - Jostled after the start and unbalanced briefly but recovered to finish 4th.
Race 7	AON CPF C1 - C1 - 305	JAMAICA MISTAICA (2) - Began very awkwardly losing several lengths and tailed the field throughout. ALQUEZAR (3) - Shifted out to race wide over extra ground entering the home straight. ALLEGRO POWER (4) - Shifted out to follow the previous runner wide over extra ground.
Race 8	PALAMOUNTAINS SCIENTIFIC NUTRITION C1 - C1 - 520	BIGTIME COFFEE (2) - Was checked when the start was made and was hampered again going to the first turn and settled back where she stayed throughout and finished last.
Race 9	J P PRINT PETONE C1 - C1 - 305	CAWBOURNE JACKO (5) - Was slow to begin losing five lengths and stayed back throughout. WITCH MISTY (10/6) - Was clipped from behind on two occasions going into and around the bend and drifted to finish in last place.
Race 10	FIRST SECURITY C1 - C1 - 520	ROSCO ACTION (3) - Was checked going into the final bend and lost two lengths and stayed back to finish 2nd last. BIGTIME FEVER (7) - Was inconvenienced on two occasions on the first bend and settled back. Was checked again going into the final bend, went back to the rear and stayed there for the remainder.
Race 11	WANGANUI TOYOTA C1D - C1d - 645	FASHION'S FANCY (10/8) - Was the slowest to begin and stayed back throughout the race and finished last.
Race 12	BOOK YOUR FUNCTION @ HATRICK C1 - C1 - 520	BIGTIME BAKAGAIN (4) - Was slow to begin and settled back. He was then hampered going into the first bend and went back to the rear but recovered to finish in 3rd place. OPAWA EXTREME (5) - Was crowded from the start and settled back where he stayed throughout. TAKE ACTION (9/8) - Settled back and stayed there to finish in last place. Was referred to the Vet at the Trainers request and found to have a paw wound.
Race 13	THE ROCK 95.2FM C1 - C1 - 305	TRICK ME VARA (3) - Hampered and lost ground on the first turn when avoiding a fallen runner. OPAWA SPRINTER (5) - Checked and fell going into the bend and was referred to the Vet and found to have a trapezius muscle injury. BIGTIME MOE MOE (6) - Hampered and lost ground on the first turn when avoiding a fallen runner. YANKEE FOXTROT (8) - Checked and lost ground when avoiding a fallen runner going into the bend but recovered to finish 4th. BOTANY CALYPSO (9/7) - Was buffeted between runners for a short distance after the start and settled back. Finished in 2nd place but collapsed at the lure and died and was referred to the Vet for post-mortem.
Race 14	MAX REFRIDGERATION C1 - C1 - 305	UNACCUSTOMED (5) - Was awkwardly positioned on heels going into the bend and lost ground and never recovered. GIGANAIRE (8) - raced wide covering extra ground on the bend and finished well back.
Race 15	LASER PLUMBING WANGANUI C1 - C1 - 305	BRILLIANT ASHLEE (3) - Checked going into the bend and fell and was referred to the Vet and cleared of injury. RALLY SARIOUS (4) - Was slow to begin losing two lengths but made up ground for 4th place ALLEGRO CODY (5) - Hampered going into the bend and dropped back onto a following runner which was checked and fell.
