Judicial report: 1) BIG JOHN CANON (M Dempsey) completed a satisfactory trial without blinkers and will race in that state in upcoming events. 2) SUPPLEMENTARY - Christchurch GRC 19 August 2016 - Co-Trainer D Fahey advised Stewards that blood tests were conducted on CAPTAIN TUTTLE after last week's run with these tests showing no abnormalities. Mr Fahey confirmed that dog is now being given a brief let-up before resuming racing.

Race 1	christchurchgreyhounds.co.nz Dash - C0 - 295	REALITY (8) was a clear last on jumping. SMASH BOMBER (3) and HARD QUESTIONS (4) collided in the early stages. FLAPS DOWN (6) crossed down the track in the back straight checking CAMILA BAXTER (5) and SHAKTI (1). LOKIE (7) ran wide on the home turn pushing HARD QUESTIONS over extra ground. SHAKTI raced wide in the home straight.
Race 2	Greyhounds As Pets Sprint - C0 - 295	STARRY BAXTER (3) stumbled for a stride out of the boxes and settled a clear last. HOMEBUSH BAILEY (5) ran outwards in the back straight tightening KNOW SCRUTINY (6) and PIPES OF PEACE (7). SEASPRAY CRACKER (1) ran outwards into the bend pushing SMASH DEMAND (4) wider on the track. IDOL EVE (2) lost ground on the bend with the trailing PIPES OF PEACE losing ground in consequence. STARRY BAXTER was forced wide in this incident.
Race 3	Clarkson Sign Studio Stakes - C0 - 520	HOMEBUSH SLOAN (6), CAIRO (7) and MIN HO (8) all came together in the early stages. OPAWA JIMBO (2) was tightened and lost ground soon after. SERGIO DESTROYER (3) shifted marginally outwards into the first bend pushing OPAWA RACER (5) wider with the trailing MIN HO checked in consequence. CAIRO ran wide around the first bend. MIN HO got on heels on the home turn when searching for racing room and struck the rail losing ground. MIN HO was referred to the vet for assessment and cleared of injury.
Race 4	Happy Birthday John McInerney Dash - C0 - 295	KNOW LEAVE (2) was last to jump. HOMEBUSH EVIE (6) lost ground on the bend after CELTIC WARRIOR (3) had shifted outwards. KNOW LEAVE ran wide when improving on the home turn. HOMEBUSH EVIE was referred to the vet for assessment and cleared of injury.
Race 5	Angler's Arms Tavern Stakes - C1 - 520	BLACK TRYAX (4) was a late scratching at 9am with diarrhoea. GOLDSTAR SCOOTER (6) and BIG CATCH (9/7) were the last pair on jumping. OPAWA PENNY (8) ran inwards on the first bend and was struck from behind by GOLDSTAR SCOOTER which lost ground and sent BIG CATCH wider on the track. OPAWA ASH (5) raced wide over the concluding stages. GOLDSTAR SCOOTER was checked by the vet post race and found to have wrist and hock soreness.
Race 6	Goldstar Racing Sprint - C0 - 295	The track was downgraded to slushy prior to this event. VICTORIA PACE (9/2) shifted outwards on dispatch causing tightening to BOYISH CHARMS (3), KNOW BIAS (4) and HOMEBUSH GISELE (6). VICTORIA PACE ran outwards on the home turn striking the hind quarters of MULBERRY THUNDER (7) which lost its chance with this dog being referred to the vet for assessment where no injury was detected.
Race 7	Coalgate Tavern Stakes - C1 - 520	GOLDSTAR BOOMER (2), ANOTHER CRUISE (5) and SHIFT THE BLAME (8) were the slowest from the traps. GOLDSTAR BOOMER raced wide in the home straight.
Race 8	Shirley Vet Clinic Sprint - C2 - 295	WEARS THE GOLD (1) ran outwards tightening JINJA BILLY (9/2), OPAWA CRUSADE (3) and ARCHIES DIJON (4) in the early stages. KATA (6) and ROYAL ACTION (5) were both inconvenienced in this incident. KATA angled inwards into the bend checking ROYAL ACTION and OPAWA CRUSADE.
Race 9	Dave Robbie Photographer Dash - C2 - 295	GIGANAIRE (5) ran outwards in the early stages causing checks to GUMP'S THE NAME (6), CRAFTY ACTION (7) and BHUJA (8). BHUJA then ran inwards into the bend checking CRAFTY ACTION and GUMP'S THE NAME which lost ground and their chances. GUMP'S THE NAME was checked and cleared by the vet post race.
Race 10	Amber Cleaning Services Sprint Final - C2f - 295	KNOW CONTEST (2) and HELLO BLONDIE (4) were slow to jump. BUDGIE RIGHT (6) ran inwards into the bend checking KNOW CONTEST which dropped to the rear. BUDGIE RIGHT angled outwards on the home turn inconveniencing GOLDSTAR BOMBER (7) for a stride. KNOW CONTEST was checked and cleared by the vet post race.
Race 11	Islington Tavern Stakes - C2 - 520	KNOW WORTH (6) was last at the jump. OPAWA BUCKS EYE (3) was tightened and lost ground in the run to the first bend. ODIN SLAYER (4) checked outwards off heels on the first bend with KNOW WORTH pushed wide in consequence.
Race 12	Livamol Sprint - C2 - 295	MULBERRY BROOK (4) and ZORBA THE GREEK (5) were the last pair at the jump. MAX STIX (3) and GOLDSTAR CHUMLEE (6) bumped together in the back straight on two occasions. ZORBA THE GREEK shifted up the track pushing TOKEN ACE (8) wider.
