Rounding the turn AIDEN BAXTER (5) shifted wider on the track and forced RICK'S TREASURE (8) over extra ground. RICK'S TREASURE was unbalanced for a short distance as a result. UTRA ACTION (4) was momentarily inconvenienced in this incident . |
| Race 2 | Shirley Vet Clinic Sprint - C4 - 295 | CAWBOURNE CRAIG (4) and MAUDIE'S BABE (7) were slow to begin. MAGIC DOZER (3) shifted outwards after the start and made firm contact with HARSESIS (6) with both runners being unbalanced for a short distance. JINJA LOCH (1) and BACKCHAT HARRY (2) jostled for some distance into the bend. Rounding the bend CAWBOURNE CRAIG became awkwardly placed on the heels of CARNEGIE HALL (8) before shifting outwards hampering JINJA LOCH and making firm contact with MAGIC DOZER which was momentarily unbalanced. CAWBOURNE CRAIG was badly unbalanced in this incident. MAUDIE'S BABE was unable to avoid the heels of CAWBOURNE CRAIG and lost all chance. JINJA LOCH ran wide in the straight. |
| Race 3 | Thursday Place Pick Stakes - C2 - 520 | SPRING SAM (3), OPAWA JAY JAY (6) and OPAWA JANET (8) were all slow to begin. Near the winning post on the first occasion GOLDSTAR COCO (9) was unbalanced when contacted from behind by SPRING SAM. SPRING SAM was held up on heels rounding the final bend. AMINO TROUBLE (1) made contact with OPAWA JANET rounding the final bend and shifted outwards contacting SMOKEY ACTION (7). AMINO TROUBLE then shifted back inwards and made firm contact with OPAWA JANET, jostling for some distance on entering the home straight, with both runners being unbalanced |

YOUR THE BEST raced wide from entering the bend. |
| Race 6 | I Pave Concrete Sprint - C3 - 295 | IMPERSONATOR (4) and HUMAN INSTINCT (5) came together on jumping. As a result IMPERSONATOR was slow through the initial stages. Into the bend AIR EXPRESS (1) and VOREDA (3) made firm contact with VOREDA losing momentum. HUMAN INSTINCT was hampered in consequence. Shortly thereafter VOREDA became awkwardly placed, contacting the heels of AIR EXPRESS which shifted away from the running line and fell. HUMAN INSTINCT was unable to avoid the fallen runner losing all chance.Post race veterinary examinations revealed VOREDA to have laceration to the right front dew claw and HUMAN INSTINCT to have pain in the right wrist. |
| Race 7 | Garrards Horse & Hound Stakes - C4 - 520 | BOSTON HEART (4) and BOTANY ALAN (5) came together on jumping.Shortly after the start BOSTON HEART was checked when tightened between BOTANY ALAN and KNOW NEGLECT (2). BOTANY ALAN lost momentum near the winning post on the first occasion after jostling with KNOW NEGLECT. |

AMERICAN WARRIOR shifted outwards into the bend and hampered both PATCHWORK ALICE (4) and GET READY FREDDY (6). HARKONEN BALE (8) and CATHY MAREE (5) made firm contact on entering the home straight. |
| Race 9 | Christchurch Casino Stakes - C5 - 520 | MAJESTIC ACTION (6) was slow in the initial stages. BREAKING BAD (7) shifted inwards after jumping and made contact with DYNA VIKKERS (5). Shortly thereafter DYNA VIKKERS was buffeted between BREAKING BAD and BERRIDALE LAD (4) for a short distance. EBERT BALE (1), HOMEBUSH KELSO (2), BERRIDALE LAD and DYNA VIKKERS all jostled for a distance near the winning post on the first occasion. DYNA VIKKERS and BERRIDALE LAD lost momentum and ground as a result. BERRIDALE LAD and BREAKING BAD made heavy contact into the first bend and were both unbalanced when well back in the running. DYNA VIKKERS was hampered in consequence. |
