Race 1 Kolorful Kanvas Sprint - C3 - 295 TILT (4) was last to jump. RICK'S TREASURE (5) ran inwards in the early stages checking OPAWA LEAN MEAT (3) with RICK'S TREASURE being turned sideways and continuing to angle inwards checking ADJUDICATOR (2). ANOTHER FAN (6) then also ran inwards receiving a check and then making solid contact with RICK'S TREASURE before being dragged down. ANOTHER FAN then went off stride on the bend finishing a distant last with a post race veterinary check revealing no injury. In view of the serious interference received by ANOTHER FAN in the back straight no further action was deemed necessary. IMPERSONATOR (1) checked outwards off heels on the home turn pushing TILT over extra ground.
Race 2 Amber Cleaning Services Dash - C3 - 295 SARCASM (1) was last on jumping. CAMSIDE GOLD (4) ran outwards in the back straight checking HUMAN INSTINCT (6) which lost ground inconveniencing OPAWA SAM (9/7). CAMSIDE GOLD was tightened on the bend and lost ground.
Race 3 Thursday Place Pick Sprint - C3 - 295 SPARKLING TERRA (4) was last to jump. BARCIA EXPRESS (3), SOLSTICE (5) and GUMP'S THE NAME (6) all collided in the back straight. SOLSTICE angled inwards into the bend badly checking ZIRCON (1) and SPARKLING TERRA with ZIRCON falling. BARCIA EXPRESS was also inconvenienced at this stage. ZIRCON and SPARKLING TERRA were referred to the vet for assessment with ZIRCON found to have back pain with a 14 day stand down recommended.
Race 4 David Emerson Consultancy Dash - C3 - 295 OPAWA CRUSADE (5) was tightened in the early stages. AIDEN BAXTER (2) angled outwards in the back straight placing ON THE LEVEL (3) and VOREDA (4) in restricted room. TERRA MONDO (1) ran outwards into the bend pushing BARNICLE BULLET (6) and KNOW LAPSE (8) wider on the track. AIDEN BAXTER ran outwards on the home turn checking BARNICLE BULLET.
Race 5 I Pave Concrete Stakes - C3 - 520 JINJA JAFFA (6) was awkward to box in this race will continue to be boxed first. MISCHIEF MANAGED (7) ran inwards on dispatch checking JINJA JAFFA which lost ground. In the early stages NOZZNO FEAR (8) ran inwards colliding with MISCHIEF MANAGED and MAX STIX (4). Into the bend NOZZNO FEAR continued its inwards movement causing checks to MAX STIX and SUPER BAD (3) with OPAWA MINSTREL (5) forced very wide in consequence.
Race 6 Hampden Tavern Sprint - C5 - 295 This race was delayed by 2 minutes at the request of Raceday Control. WHEELCHAIR NORM (4) was last to jump. KNOW HERO (3) ran up the track in the early stages checking BELIEVE (5). Into the bend KNOW HERO shifted outwards off the heels of GET READY FREDDY (1) checking SMASH THAT (8) with FLIBERTY JIBERTY (6) and BELIEVE both forced to race wide as a result.
Race 7 Active Electrical Christchurch Dash - C3/4 - 295 CLEVER SAGE (3) ran outwards in the early stages simultaneously to AIR EXPRESS (7) angling inwards resulting in HOMEBUSH ROCKY (6), CAWBOURNE CRAIG (5) and MAUDIE'S BABE (4) being tightened and losing ground. AIR EXPRESS checked outwards off heels on the bend. MAUDIE'S BABE ran very wide on the home turn. The near side blinker of CAWBOURNE CRAIG was noticed to be split with the kennel advising that a new set of blinkers would be utilised at the dog's next start.
Race 8 Dream Collector At Stud Dash - C5 - 295 MICKEY TEE (6) ran inwards and contacted BURN EARLY (5) on dispatch with MICKEY TEE settling at the rear. COLLECTING MONEY (1) was tightened in the back straight. Into the bend HARKONEN BALE (4) ran inwards checking JINJA BRIAN (2). JINJA BRIAN then checked outwards off heels on the home turn.
Race 9 Christchurch Casino Stakes - C3/4 - 520 JON SNOW LIVES (8) was last to jump. RED MARGIN (2) ran outwards in the early stages and came together with WITH PRIDE (3) with this pair dropping to the rear.
Race 10 Flair Sprint - C3/4 - 295 SPEEDY RETURN (8) was last to jump. ROADWORKS (4) was badly tightened in the early stages after HOMEBUSH RILEY (5) had run inwards simultaneously to TIME SLAYER (3) shifting up the track. ULTRA ACTION (6) then ran inwards colliding with ROADWORKS. SPEEDY RETURN and ROADWORKS came together into the bend. ULTRA ACTION raced wide around the bend.
Race 11 The Turf Bar Sprint - C5 - 295 BACKCHAT HARRY (3) weighed in 1.7 kgs above its last race weight in June. MAGIC MIKE (6) was last to jump. PATCHWORK ALICE (5) ran inwards into the bend coming together with CATHY MAREE (4) with this pair losing ground. RAPAKI KATH (2) ran inwards late in the run home checking CATHY MAREE.
Race 12 Farewell Peter Knowles Sprint - C3/4 - 295 WICKED WINSTON (4) and OHOKA BILLY (6) were the last pair from the traps. CHOKEHOLD (7) ran inwards in the back straight pushing SMASH RUMOUR (5) down the track on to CAWBOURNE SARAH (3). CAWBOURNE SARAH then got on the heels of CHICAGO BLACK (8) into the bend with both runners losing momentum. SOUTHERN BLUE (1) angled outwards on the home turn pushing OHOKA BILLY wider on the track. SMASH RUMOUR raced wide in the home straight.
