Track: Good The track was presented in good order and the meeting proceeded smoothly in very cold conditions.

Judicial report: A charge under Rule 87.1 p against Trainer S.Stone at a recent Wanganui GRC meeting, which was to be referred to the JCA has been withdrawn by the Stewards and is replaced with a warning issued under the provisions of Rule 87.1 dd.

Race 1	ABSOLUTELY ELECTRICAL C4 - C4 - 305	ALLEGRO BOOM, CAWBOURNE ROWAN and CAWBOURNE ELPASO jostled together in the back straight and CAWBOURNE ROWAN was tightened and shifted ground into the line of UNO BRENT which clipped heels, blundered and lost several lengths and all chance. CAWBOURNE ELPASO shifted out going into the bend and forced ANGIE ZARR out over extra ground.
Race 2	LIQUORLAND WANGANUI C4/5 - C4/5 - 305	VITO BAXTER shifted in going to the first corner and collided with NERO which was unbalanced losing four lengths and went back to last. AL'S GIRL shifted in going into the bend and inconvenienced ONE BROKE GIRL which in turn shifted ground and caused LONE STAR LAD on the outside to become unbalanced and he lost ground and stayed back to finish at the rear.
Race 3	FIRST SECURITY C4/5 - C4/5 - 305	SPIRIT RUN was a little slow to begin and settled back. BRITNEY STAR, SUBIC BAY and WHATU TRENDY jostled together in the back straight and BRITNEY STAR and WHATU TRENDY continued to jostle for some distance until WHATU TRENDY dropped back onto SPIRIT RUN which also lost ground. SPIRIT RUN angled out approaching the home straight and bumped DREAMZONE which was forced wide over extra ground.
Race 4	DOPEY DOG LASER ENGRACING C2 - C2 - 520	MOLLY O'SHEA was checked going to the first corner and lost two lengths. AUTUMN LIGHTS raced wide covering extra ground on the first bend. LICK IT UP was in 2nd place approaching the home straight but went off stride and was unbalanced and shifted out to make firm contact with the outside fence and took no further part in the race. LICK IT UP, which has a history of hypoxia seizures was found by the Vet to have suffered another attack of hypoxia and was stood down for 14 days. It was the recommendation of the Vet that LICK IT UP be restricted to sprint races in future because of the problem and this is supported by the Stewards in the interests of the Greyhounds welfare
Race 5	LASER PLUMBING C4/5 - C2/3 - 520	BIG RED CHEV checked over the heels of ZIMMER FRAME going into the first bend and lost momentum briefly.
Race 6	AON CPF C2 HT1 - C2q - 305 Heat 1	THRILLING MIA went up with the box lids and lost four lengths. RAINCHECK shifted in soon after the start and bumped TOTES which was turned sideways and unbalanced for a short distance. BELFAST BARRY and SAMMY BAXTER jostled together going into the bend and they were unbalanced losing ground back to the rear where they stayed to the finish.
Race 7	WANGANUI CHRONICLE C2 HT2 - C2q - 305 Heat 2	ALLEGRO POWER and MIGHTY MAC began awkwardly losing three lengths. ALLEGRO POWER recovered well to be handy on the bend but checked off the heels of JOEY BAXTER and was inconvenienced for a short distance losing two lengths. WORKING JEWEL raced wide covering considerable extra ground on the bend and into the straight and finished in last place.
Race 8	ADEPT ACCOUNTANTS WANGANUI C2 HT3 - C2q - 305 Heat 3	RUA RAMA was the slowest to begin from the outside box but recovered well to finish in 2nd place. TRACEY shifted in going to the first corner and jostled with KIRKHAM JACK for a distance and they were both unbalanced losing ground with KIRKHAM JACK the most affected and he went back to the rear and stayed well back.
Race 9	METEOR OPD WANGANUI C4 - C4 - 520	CAWBOURNE MEZZA and BOSTON HEART both shifted ground when the start was made and they collided and lost momentum briefly.
Race 10	WANGANUI TOYOTA C4/5 - C4/5 - 520	ABSINTHE MINDED began awkwardly losing ground and she settled back. LADY ZEENA shifted in soon after the start and inconvenienced SEDGEBROOK MAGIC for a short distance. Going to the first corner, FLYING MERKEL shifted in and caused crowding which resulted in checks to LADY ZEENA and KAPUTSKI and they went back to the rear and stayed there for the remainder of the race.
Race 11	PALAMOUNTAINS SCIENTIFIC NUTRITION C3 - C3 - 305	BIGTIME RUNNINGS and KALISI were the slowest away from the boxes and lost a length. ALLEGRO RUNNINGS and BIGTIIME REDFOO bumped together going into the bend and a short distance further on, KALISI and BIGTIME REDFOO bumped and all three were briefly unbalanced and lost momentum. KALISI then shifted out and raced very wide and finished in last place.
Race 12	BOOK YOUR FUNCTION @ HATRICK C3 - C3 - 305	IT'S LOVELY and BOTANY WIN jostled together going to the first corner and BOTANY WIN was checked and went back to the rear and never recovered. ANOTHER COVER and BRILLIANT JAYLA bumped and lost momentum going into the bend. OPAWA LACHLAN shifted out entering the home straight and forced MANU RAMA wide over extra ground.
