| Race 1 | SOUTHLAND GREYHOUNDS WELCOME - C0 - 390 | TODD BLUE BLOOD (6) and HOMEBUSH EVIE (7) were last to leave the boxes, with both runners colliding shortly after. KIM'S MY NAME (5) ran outwards briefly racing into the bend pushing TODD BLUE BLOOD into the line of HOMEBUSH EVIE which was hampered. RUNNIN' CLOGGS (4) was crowded when giving ground rounding the bend, with the trailing CATLIN BLUEBLOOD (1) having to check off that runners heels. RUNNIN' CLOGGS underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no obvious abnormalities. |
| Race 2 | MR WHIPPY SOUTHLAND - C1/2 - 390 | DEVILSKIN (7) ran inwards sharply entering the bend colliding with OPAWA OPAL (5) which in turn shifted inwards placing COOL DEXTER (2) in restricted room adjacent to the running rail. |
| Race 3 | ASCOT PARK CONSORTIUM - C1/2 - 390 | JINJA LOCH (1) ran outwards through the early stages crowding THRILLING SPELL (3) onto HOMEBUSH RILEY (5), with the trailing HUMAN INSTINCT (2) having to check. THRILLING SPELL was then further hampered for a distance entering the bend when crowded for racing room by FEAR MARINA (4) which ran inwards, with the trailing HUMAN INSTINCT having to check to avoid heels. THRILLING SPELL collided with HUMAN INSTINCT soon after with both runners losing ground. THESEUS (8) raced wide for the majority of the event. |
| Race 4 | CONGRATULATIONS DAVE MCDONALD - C3/4 - 390 | WALLY BAXTER (10/3) was slow to jump. NINA BAXTER (9/6) raced in restricted room entering the bend between ZIPPING SONNY (1) and OM NOM NOM (7) which ran inwards. NINA BAXTER was crowded briefly entering the home straight between ZIPPING SONNY and WALLY BAXTER. |
| Race 5 | SERVICES TO RACING AWARD - C3/4 - 390 | AIR EXPRESS (2) and ABRASADOR (3) collided on jumping. ABRASADOR and ANOTHER BELLE (1) jostled through the early stages, with ABRASADOR shifting inwards abruptly entering the bend resulting in ANOTHER BELLE being tightened, coming back onto the trailing AIR EXPRESS and HOMEBUSH KELSO (8) which were hampered when placed in restricted room. OPAWA CRUSADE (7) was crowded approaching the bend when in tight quarters between HOMEBUSH ROCKY (6) and HOMEBUSH KELSO. |
| Race 6 | ADDED ENERGY STAKES - C0 - 457 | CALL ME SOON (3) was declared a late scratching at 11:27am acting on veterinary advice. HOMEBUSH SLOAN (4) and SPRING SAM (5) were slow to jump. STORMING MACK (1), HOMEBUSH SHANE (2), OPAWA JUDY (9/6) and HOMEBUSH SLOAN were crowded entering the bend when inside MYA TIME (7) which was pushed inwards by the improving BRONSON JEWEL (8) which ran inwards. This resulted in the trailing SPRING SAM having to check outwards to avoid heels. HOMEBUSH SHANE ran outwards into the bend pushing HOMEBUSH SLOAN and MYA TIME wider on the track, with SPRING SAM again having to check to avoid heels. |
| Race 7 | Racing Series Novice Heats - NZRSq - 457 Heat 1 | HOMEBUSH FLAME (3) was declared a late scratching at 11:10am acting on veterinary advice after sustaining an injury en route to the racecourse. KELLY'S MY NAME (9) was declared a late scratching at 11:27am acting on veterinary advice. DORA DUFRAN (2) and OBEYANCE (4) collided shortly after the start. DORA DUFRAN appeared indifferent in its action through the early and middle stages losing contact with the field. DORA DUFRAN underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no obvious abnormalities. |
| Race 8 | SOUTHLAND & OTAGO PHOTO FINISH - C1 - 390 | IDOL BUTCHER (2), TOO MUCH SUGAR (3) and SPEEDY BLUEBLOOD (4) were hampered leaving the boxes when bumped heavily by ANOTHER JAMIE (5) which ran inwards sharply. IDOL BUTCHER and TOO MUCH SUGAR jostled through the early stages, with TOO MUCH SUGAR becoming unbalanced and shifting outwards pushing SPEEDY BLUEBLOOD wider on the track. ANOTHER JAMIE became awkwardly placed near the heels of LAGOON BELLE (8) rounding the bend, checking outwards across that runners heels shortly after. TOO MUCH SUGAR ran wide entering the home straight. |
| Race 9 | Racing Series Novice Heats - NZRSq - 457 Heat 2 | PIANISSIMO (3) was crowded briefly in the early stages between WHAT I LIKE (1) and RIB CURLER (4). WHAT I LIKE and RIB CURLER then came together and colliding approaching the bend when both runners shifted ground. WHAT I LIKE raced in restricted room rounding the bend, shifting outwards and contacting the hindquarters of RIB CURLER. MISCHIEF MANAGED was buffeted over the concluding stages when between RIB CURLER and KNOW RESPECT (7) which ran inwards. |
| Race 10 | Racing Series Novice Heats - NZRSq - 457 Heat 3 | OPAWA PENNY (7) ran inwards from the boxes crowding OPAWA MERC (6) and HARLEQUIN PARADE (5). KNOW HASSLE (1) was slow to jump. HOMEBUSH SKIP (2) checked outwards across the heels of HARLEQUIN PARADE approaching the bend resulting in heavy contact being made with FRECKLE FLYER (8) which in turn bumped OPAWA MERC. KNOW HASSLE was tightened entering the bend when inside ALBIE MCLEOD which shifted inwards to obtain a position closer to the running rail. KNOW HASSLE checked outwards across that runners heels shortly after resulting in NO TINKERBELL (3) and OPAWA PENNY being pushed wider on the track. |
| Race 11 | Racing Series Novice Heats - NZRSq - 457 Heat 4 | The start of this event was delayed 2 minutes at the request of TAB Control. OPAWA ROCKY (2) was crowded momentarily in the early stages between ROOKIE RACER (10/3) and HOMEBUSH HANSOME (1). OPAWA ROCKY then appeared indifferent in its action through the middle stages, losing contact with the field. OPAWA ROCKY underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no obvious abnormalities. SARCASM (4) and HIS NIBS (7) jostled for a distance approaching the bend with both runners becoming unbalanced and HIS NIBS losing its footing. SARCASM then ran wide rounding the bend. |
| Race 12 | GREYHOUNDSASPETS.ORG.NZ - C4/5 - 457 | ANOTHER MESSAGE (4) ran inwards from the boxes crowding KNOW THANKS (3) onto ALBIE JAY (2). ACE BALE (6) and KNOW THANKS bumped heavily in the early stages, with KNOW THANKS becoming unbalanced, shifting inwards and colliding with ALBIE JAY which lost ground. ACE BALE contacted the hindquarters of KNOW THANKS approaching the bend, resulting in KNOW THANKS being turned outwards into the line of ACE BALE and DYNA VIKKERS (8), both of which were forced wider on the track. KNOW THANKS had to check momentarily rounding the bend when awkwardly placed near the heels of DYNA VIKKERS which shifted inwards. |
