| Race 1 | Super Pets Dash - C3 - 295 | ON THE LEVEL (4) and ROYAL ACTION (6) were the last pair from the traps. STEEL THE GOLD (2) was badly tightened into the bend dropping to the rear. ROYAL ACTION raced wide on the bend and in the home straight. |
| Race 2 | I Pave Concrete Sprint - C4 - 295 | MAUDIE'S BABE (4) was last to jump. ADROIT (2) shifted up the track in the back straight pushing MAUDIE'S BABE and JINJA LOCH (5) wider. Into the bend ADROIT continued to run wide and came together with JINJA LOCH which was turned sideways losing its chance. ADROIT then checked off JINJA LOCH and faltered going off stride and failing to complete the event. MAUDIE'S BABE ran wide on the home turn. ADROIT was referred to the vet for assessment and found to have elbow and wrist pain. |
| Race 3 | Thursday Place Pick Stakes - C3 - 520 | In the early stages OPAWA TRACY (1) shifted outwards pushing ANOTHER LIZ (2) wider simultaneously to WITH PRIDE (4) angling inwards with KNOW SCHOLAR (3) being badly tightened in consequence. On the first bend OPAWA TRACY checked outwards off the heels of WITH PRIDE causing checks to ZIPPING SONNY (5), FEKITOA (7) and IDOL LEANNE (8) with this trio losing their chances. Into the back straight OPAWA TRACY lost ground when racing to the outside of KNOW SCHOLAR with OPAWA TRACY dropping to the rear. Post race veterinary checks of OPAWA TRACY and KNOW SCHOLAR revealed no abnormalities. |
| Race 4 | Islington Tavern Sprint - C5 - 295 | KRISTA BARISTA (1) was last to jump. SMASH RUMOUR (4) and AIR EXPRESS (6) brushed together into the bend dropping to the rear. On the home turn PATCHWORK ALICE (2) angled inwards coming together with KIHAEL KALUNA (7) for a stride. |
| Race 5 | Flair Canterbury Laurel Heat 1 - R/Aq - 520 Heat 1 | OPAWA JUDY (8) was last to jump. FROSTY ACTION (2) was tightened into the bend and dropped to the rear where it remained. CAWBOURNE MEZZA (6) angled outwards into the first bend pushing ESTER ACTION (7) and OPAWA JUDY over extra ground. FROSTY ACTION was referred to the vet for assessment and found to have a calf muscle strain. |
| Race 6 | David Emerson Consultancy Dash - C4 - 295 | OPAWA CRUSADE (2) was slowest into stride. GRIFINATOR (7) ran inwards in the early stages pushing CAMSIDE GOLD (6) down the track and placing TIP THE BABE (5), ARBRE CHENE (4) and AIDEN BAXTER (3) in restricted room after TRUST ISSUES (1) had run outwards. |
| Race 7 | Flair Canterbury Laurel Heat 2 - R/Aq - 520 Heat 2 | CRAFTY ACTION (1) was a late scratching when found to be in season on being retrieved from the kennels. CAWBOURNE SPREE (6) was tightened in the run to the first bend and ran outwards losing ground. SPARE ACTION (7) and GOLDSTAR BOMBER (9/5) both ran wide in the back straight. |
| Race 8 | Angler's Arms Tavern Dash - C5 - 295 | WHEELCHAIR NORM (5) ran outwards in the early stages checking HARKONEN BALE (6) and CARNEGIE HALL (7). TINA (4) was tightened and lost ground into the bend. HARKONEN BALE was held up for room when improving on the bend and checked outwards after getting on the heels of OHOKA BILLY (3). TINA was forced wide in this incident. HARKONEN BALE lost momentum in this incident and was referred to the vet for assessment where no injury was detected. |
| Race 9 | Christchurch Casino Stakes - C3/4 - 520 | OPAWA KEVIN (2) and GOLDSTAR AVERY (8) were the last pair on jumping. In the early stages MYSTIC ACTION (3) was checked and then badly dragged down losing its footing and dropping to the rear with the trailing OPAWA KEVIN also inconvenienced. This pair were both referred to the vet for assessment with MYSTIC ACTION found to have a hock strain. |
| Race 10 | Clarkson Sign Studio Sprint - C5 - 295 | MAGIC MIKE (2) and ANOTHER BELLE (6) were the last pair on settling. DREAM LARGE (5) ran outwards in the early stages simultaneously to COLLECTING MONEY (7) running inwards resulting in this pair colliding and COLLECTING MONEY stumbling and losing its chance. COLLECTING MONEY was referred to the vet for assessment and cleared of injury. |
| Race 11 | Active Electrical Christchurch Stakes - C5 - 520 | BERRIDALE LAD (5) and SOUTHERN LIGHTS (6) bumped in the early stages. BERRIDALE LAD checked off the heels of KNOW ANSWER (4) into the first bend and stumbled with this runner then angling inwards hitting the rail and losing ground. BERRIDALE LAD was referred to the vet for assessment and cleared of any abnormality. DYNA VIKKERS (7) was badly held up on the home turn losing momentum. |
| Race 12 | Protexin Sprint - C4 - 295 | OPAWA LEAN MEAT (1) was a late scratching at 8.56am with a pad abrasion. SPARKLING TERRA (7) was very slow to jump. CHICAGO BLACK (8) ran inwards in the initial stages checking RAND (6) with this runner then shifting outwards coming together with CHICAGO BLACK in the back straight. This pair of kennelmates again collided on the home turn when well back. |
