Judicial report: 1) SUPPLEMENTARY - CHRISTCHURCH GRC 26 May 2016: At a JCA hearing at Rangiora on 29 May, handler D Fahey was fined $100 after admitting that he had placed his dog in the wrong box prior to Race 11. 2) OPAWA WHISPER (Lane & Wales) completed a satisfactory trial as required by Rule 79.

Race 1	Super Pets Sprint - C3 - 295	EXPECT DELAY (4) was very hard to box in this event and will be boxed first in future. OPAWA OPAL (6) was last to jump. HARSESIS (8) ran inwards into the bend tightening REPLAY (5) with the trailing EXPECT DELAY inconvenienced in consequence. Soon after SCREW AND BOLT (3) was tightened and ran outwards tangling with REPLAY. SCREW AND BOLT was unbalanced in this incident and lost ground with this runner being referred to the vet for assessment where it was found to have a laceration to a leg. AIR EXPRESS (2) ran outwards on the home turn pushing REPLAY wider on the track.
Race 2	Shirley Vet Clinic Sprint - C3 - 295	GORILLA ON DRUMS (1) was a clear last on jumping. OPAWA LEAN MEAT (4) was tightened in the early stages after KNOW LAPSE (5) had run inwards. KNOW LAPSE and WOW MADONNA (3) then came together for a stride. HUMAN INSTINCT (8) received a slight check into the bend as it crossed down the track. OPAWA LEAN MEAT checked outwards off heels into the bend pushing CAWBOURNE CRAIG (7) wider on the track. BARCIA EXPRESS (6) raced wide on the home turn.
Race 3	Thursday Place Pick Dash - C4 - 295	OPAWA CRUSADE (3) and BURN EARLY (6) settled at the rear. FLIBERTY JIBERTY (4) ran outwards into the bend hampering BURN EARLY and ADROIT (7). ADROIT then ran very wide around the home turn.
Race 4	Islington Tavern Dash - C3 - 295	TIMELY REMINDER (5) was last to jump. SALLY (1) ran outwards in the initial stages crowding OPAWA ROCKET (2) and ROYAL BASH (3). ROYAL BASH and HOMEBUSH ARIEL (6) both raced in restricted room at the end of the back straight. OPAWA ROCKET shifted outwards off heels into the bend pushing ROYAL BASH wider. SAHARA SAM (4) shifted up the track on the home turn with SALLY hampered for a stride.
Race 5	Kolorful Kanvas Sprint - C4 - 295	KNOW THANKS (2) was a clear last at the jump. JINJA BILLY (7) was tightened and lost ground in the early stages. RICK'S TREASURE (4) was checked and lost ground on the bend after GOLD VIPA (5) had crossed down the track. KNOW THANKS ran wide on the home turn.
Race 6	I Pave Concrete Dash - C3 - 295	OPAWA IDOL (6) dropped to the rear in the early stages. STARBURST EMMA (3) angled outwards into the bend and was dragged down for a stride by CAWBOURNE SARAH (5). GUMP'S THE NAME (4) was then badly checked when avoiding these runners with STRUGGLE IS REAL (8) pushed very wide in consequence. TERRA MONDO (7) received a check soon after and became unbalanced as STARBURST EMMA shifted back down the track. GUMP'S THE NAME was referred to the vet for assessment and found to be free of injury. When questioned in regards to the improved performance of the winner ULTRA ACTION (1), Co-Trainer S Evans explained that the dog had raced with no luck lately and today was advantaged by the inside draw.
Race 7	Robbie's Bar & Bistro Stakes - C3 - 520	KNOW MAYHEM (8) was last to jump. NINA BAXTER (6) and MAJESTIC ACTION (7) both lost ground in the early stages after LUMINARY (5) had shifted outwards. MAJESTIC ACTION ran inwards into the first bend checking itself and NINA BAXTER, BRISEUR DE REVES (9/4) and JINJA JAFFA (3). ZIPPING SONNY (1) checked outwards off the heels of KNOW NEGLECT (2) on the first bend. BRISEUR DE REVES raced wide in the back straight. MAJESTIC ACTION and ZIPPING SONNY came together early in the run home.
Race 8	Zebidiah At Stud Sprint - C5 - 295	BACKCHAT HARRY (3) ran inwards in the back straight checking MAGIC MIKE (1). BACKCHAT HARRY and MAGIC MIKE were both tightened into the first bend with PUMA PANTS (6) hampered in behind this pair. KIHAEL KAHUNA (4) was held up for room on the home turn before running into a marginal gap and pushing RAPAKI KATH (2) wider on the track. MANDI MAE (7) raced wide around the home turn.
Race 9	MTA Gift Vouchers Stakes - C4 - 520	OPAWA KEVIN (3) was a clear last on jumping. RAEWYN (6) was checked from behind by ACE BALE (4) into the first bend with both runners losing ground. KNOW CLOWN (8) was inconvenienced in this incident. DAD'S AMBITION (7) raced wide in the back straight. RAEWYN was checked and cleared by the vet post race.
Race 10	Flair Dash - C5 - 295	MAUDIE'S BABE (5) was last on settling after receiving tightening between DREAM LARGE (4) and SPEEDY RETURN (6). BERRIDALE LAD (2) ran outwards in the back straight contacting SPEEDY RETURN. Into the bend ROADWORKS (7) ran inwards severely checking SPEEDY RETURN, BERRIDALE LAD and MAUDIE'S BABE. This trio lost their chances in this incident and were all referred to the vet for assessment and cleared of injury. DREAM LARGE and PAPERBOND (3) came together on the home turn.
Race 11	Christchurch Casino Stakes - C4/5 - 520	KNOW STYLE (3), HOMEBUSH KELSO (5) and TRUST ISSUES (7) all received checks into the first bend after racing in restricted quarters with KNOW DECISION (6) and KNOW JINX (8) both forced wide. KNOW DECISION raced wide around the home turn. HOMEBUSH KELSO was referred to the vet for assessment with no abnormality detected.
Race 12	Livamol Sprint - C4 - 295	CHOKEHOLD (2) and MUST DESIRE (6) were the last pair at the jump. SUPER BAD (1) angled outwards into the bend checking GRIFINATOR (3). This dog then was again checked soon after and went off stride losing its chance. GRIFINATOR was referred to the vet for assessment and cleared of injury. SUPER BAD checked outwards off heels on the bend pushing MUST DESIRE wider on the track. CULVIE GODFATHER (7) raced wide around the home turn.
