| Race 1 | Super Pets Sprint - C0 - 295 | PASS WITH CARE (10/1) was very slow to jump. ROSCO ACTION (7) ran inwards in the back straight pushing UNO JASON (5) down the track and clipping the hind quarters of KING SIMBA (3) for a stride with KING SIMBA being turned sideways momentarily. On the bend CATLIN BLUEBLOOD (6) ran inwards checking UNO JASON. Soon after UNO JASON was checked from behind after PASS WITH CARE got on its heels and ran outwards. HOMEBUSH SCRIBE (8) ran wide in the home straight. KING SIMBA was checked and cleared by the vet post race. |
| Race 2 | Barron's Supplies Dash - C0 - 295 | HOMEBUSH SKIP (1) was very slow to jump. SURGING EMBER (2) and SID VALENSKI (3) bumped in the initial stages with SID VALENSKI then running outwards and colliding with MINOR BRAINWAVE (4) and ZANATO (5) with DEMAN BLUE BLOOD (6) hampered in behind. SID VALENSKI ran inwards and struck the rail into the bend with the trailing ZANATO and MINOR BRAINWAVE forced wide in consequence. SID VALENSKI was referred to the vet for assessment and found to be free of injury. |
| Race 3 | Glenbyre Tavern Stakes - C1 - 520 | OPAWA LEANNA (2) lost ground in the early stages as LAGOON ALLIRA (5) ran inwards with OPAWA ROB (4) and OPAWA BUCKS (3) also inconvenienced. GOLDSTAR JAGGER (7) was tightened in the early stages and lost ground. OPAWA BUCKS ran outwards on the first bend and clipped the heels of PLUTONIUM (8). GOLDSTAR JAGGER and OPAWA BUCKS both raced wide in the back straight. |
| Race 4 | DogZone Sprint - C0 - 295 | REPLICA YELLA (6) and PROMISES MAID (7) were the last pair on jumping. MISCHIEF MANAGED (8) ran inwards in the early stages pushing MACHINE MAN (9/5) down the track which in turn came together with JINGA SNAG (4). MISCHIEF MANAGED angled inwards into the bend causing JINGA SNAG to check outwards badly hampering MACHINE MAN with this pair losing their chances. JINGA SNAG ran extremely wide in the home straight. JINGA SNAG and MACHINE MAN were both referred to the vet for assessment and cleared of injury. |
| Race 5 | Shirley Vet Clinic Maiden Stakes Heat 1 - C0q - 520 Heat 1 | GOLDSTAR BOOMER (1) was last to jump. OPAWA MERC (3) lost ground in the early stages after NEISY'S BABE (4) angled inwards. Into the first bend SMASH FIRE (5) ran inwards checking SUCH FUN (2). NEISY'S BABE and SPRING SAM (6) came together into the first bend. In behind OPAWA MERC ran outwards and collided with GOLDSTAR BOOMER with this pair jostling for some distance after and losing their chances. After viewing all available angles of this incident Stewards were satisfied that this was a racing incident with no further action required. OPAWA MERC and GOLDSTAR BOOMER were both referred to the vet for assessment and cleared of injuries. In the home straight SMASH FIRE shifted up the track pushing NEISY'S BABE wider. |
| Race 6 | christchurchgreyhounds.co.nz Sprint - C2 - 295 | ANOTHER VESPA (6) was last to jump. ROYAL ACTION (3) was tightened in the early stages and lost ground. CAWBOURNE CRAIG (2) and JACKPOT JAKE (5) came together for a few strides into the bend. WHAT I LIKE (4) was tightened into the bend and ran outwards badly checking SKETCHY STEVE (7) which lost its chance. SKETCHY STEVE was referred to the vet for assessment and cleared of injury. ROYAL ACTION ran wide in the home straight. |
| Race 7 | Shirley Vet Clinic Maiden Stakes Heat 2 - C0q - 520 Heat 2 | FILL YA BOOTS (6) was slow to jump. HILTON CUST (5) was tightened into the first bend and lost momentum with this runner then being checked as CAIRO (4) got on its heels and ran outwards. TRICKY ACTION (8) was briefly forced wide in this incident. SLICK ACTION (3) and HELENA ALLEN (7) came together at the end of the back straight and again on the home turn after SLICK ACTION had angled marginally outwards. TRENDY BLAKE (2), CAIRO and HILTON CUST were all referred to the vet for assessment with no abnormalities detected. |
| Race 8 | Coalgate Tavern Sprint - C1 - 295 | CAWBOURNE TEASH (6) settled last after ODIN SLAYER (7) had run inwards in the early stages. CHICAGO BLACK (5) ran inwards coming together with GOLDSTAR ROSIE (2) in the back straight. TIME SLAYER (1) was tightened and ran outwards into the bend tightening GOLDSTAR ROSIE and IDOL BILLIE (3). HOMEBUSH ERROL (8) then ran inwards checking CAWBOURNE KIN (4) down the track with this runner then being dragged down by TIME SLAYER and falling. GOLDSTAR ROSIE checked outwards off the heels of CAWBOURNE TEASH on the home turn with TIME SLAYER forced wide in consequence. CAWBOURNE KIN was referred to the vet for assessment and found to have a fractured leg. ODIN SLAYER was found to have a spike wound when checked by the vet post race. |
| Race 9 | Greyhounds As Pets Dash - C2 - 295 | ZIRCON (8) was last on jumping. STARBURST EMMA (10/5) ran inwards in the back straight tightening GOOD GENES (4), MAX STIX (3) and HOMEBUSH GRU (2). BHUJA (6) then ran inwards checking GOOD GENES. ROYAL BASH (1) was pushed inwards and struck the rail into the bend losing momentum. On the bend SPEEDY DISPATCH (7) received a slight check and ran outwards hampering ZIRCON with the trailing ROYAL BASH losing ground. SPEEDY DISPATCH ran wide on the home turn. ROYAL BASH, HOMEBUSH GRU and GOOD GENES were all referred to the vet for assessment and found to be free of injury. |

CAWBOURNE EDEN received another check when angling inwards and contacting JINJA LOCH (4). ZORBA THE GREEK lost momentum briefly in the home straight when contacting the heels of SOUTHERN BLUE (7). CAWBOURNE EDEN was checked and cleared by the vet post race. |
