| Race 1 | Super Pets Dash - C0 - 295 | NEISY'S BABE (7) ran inwards contacting WILLY BE BEST (5) in the early stages. BOTANY VIKKI (6) ran inwards in the back straight checking MINOR BRAINWAVE (2). GRANDE ACTION (3) was dragged down for a stride into the bend losing ground. This dog was checked and cleared by the vet post race. MINOR BRAINWAVE ran outwards on the bend pushing WILLY BE BEST wider on the track. UNO JASON (1) was badly held up for room in the home straight. |
| Race 2 | Glenbyre Tavern Stakes - C0 - 520 | SUCH FUN (3) and OBEYANCE (6) were the last pair from the traps. SPEEDY BLUEBLOOD (8) ran inwards into the first turn coming together with OPAWA MERC (7) and losing ground. OBEYANCE then shifted outwards checking SPEEDY BLUEBLOOD with SUCH FUN forced to race very wide around the bend. SURGING EMBER (2) lost ground at the end of the back straight when shifting inwards and contacting OPAWA LEANNA (1). In the home straight OBEYANCE ran inwards checking OPAWA LEANNA which lost momentum. |
| Race 3 | Zebidiah At Stud Sprint - C0 - 295 | REPLICA YELLA (3) was a clear last on jumping. MACHINE MAN (6), JAMES MCBELL (7) and BOTANY CALYPSO (8) collided in the early stages. BOTANY CALYPSO was tightened and lost ground into the bend as FERAL HOKI (5) ran inwards. REPLICA YELLA was then forced wider on the track to avoid these runners with MACHINE MAN pushed over extra ground. SWEET ABBY LEE (2) was checked on the home turn losing momentum. |
| Race 4 | Active Electrical Christchurch Dash - C0 - 295 | ROSCO ACTION (8) was last to jump. HILTON CUST (5) ran inwards in the early stages pushing HOMEBUSH BAILEY (4) down the track which in turn inconvenienced FILL YA BOOTS (2). HILTON CUST then lost ground after coming together with IDOL STAR (3). HILTON CUST was tightened into the bend losing ground with the trailing HOMEBUSH BAILEY hampered for a few strides. IDOL STAR ran outwards on the home turn brushing with SPRING SAM (7) which was angling inwards. Stewards reviewed the home straight footage and were satisfied that neither runner was in breach of Rule 79. |
| Race 5 | Greyhounds As Pets Sprint - C1 - 295 | GIGANAIRE (8) was a late scratching at kenneling with a stopper pad injury. TIME SLAYER (3) received a slight check from behind when entering the bend with the trailing ANOTHER RELM (4) losing ground in consequence. JINJA BRIAN (2) also lost ground in this incident. LUCAS SCOTT (5) raced wide around the home turn. TIME SLAYER and ANOTHER RELM were both checked by the vet post race with ANOTHER RELM found to have a bruised toe. |
| Race 6 | Clarkson Sign Studio Stakes - C1 - 520 | OPAWA FAITH (5) began awkwardly and then ran inwards contacting the hind quarters of HERITAGE WATCH (2). JINJA HEART (8) crossed to the rail into the first bend tightening GOLDSTAR DALLAS (3) and TAMARA MAY (1). CAWBOURNE KENNY (7) raced wide in the back straight. HERITAGE WATCH was held up and got on heels at the end of the back straight and ran wide from then until the finish. OPAWA FAITH was referred to the vet for assessment and cleared of injury. |
| Race 7 | Flair Dash - C1 - 295 | TRUE TO LIFE (4) and MAX BRAINSTRAIN (6) were the last pair from the traps. BADUZZI (2) was tightened into the bend and dropped to the rear. |
| Race 8 | christchurchgreyhounds.co.nz Dash - C2 - 295 | ZORBA THE GREEK (3) was slow to jump with ZIRCON (2) and BHUJA (6) also settling well back. BUDGIE RIGHT (7) faltered when clear in the lead on the turn with this runner drifting to the outside of the track and finishing a long last. A post race veterinary check revealed a torn monkey muscle. ZORBA THE GREEK was held up for room on the bend. TERRA ALERT (1) shifted up the track on the home turn pushing ZORBA THE GREEK wider. In the home straight TERRA ALERT was dragged down and lost momentum with a post race check clearing it of any abnormalities. |
| Race 9 | Robbie's Bar & Bistro Sprint - C2 - 295 | GOSSIP QUEEN (2) was last from the traps. Into the bend SOUTHERN BLUE (4) improved between runners causing a check to BARCIA EXPRESS (1) which was turned sideways for a stride. On the outside BIG MUDDY (5) was badly dragged down by OHOKA HOPE (6) which then stumbled and ran wide. On the bend GOSSIP QUEEN struck the rail and lost ground. GOSSIP QUEEN, BIG MUDDY and OHOKA HOPE were all referred to the vet for assessment. OHOKA HOPE was found to have a dislocated toe following the incident on the bend. |
| Race 10 | Amber Cleaning Services Stakes - C1 - 520 | CAWBOURNE MIAMI (5) and CAWBOURNE DALLAS (7) were the last pair on jumping. PATTY'S PICK (8) ran inwards in the run to the first bend checking HOMEBUSH BUCK (6) which then raced wide around that bend. CAWBOURNE MIAMI ran wide around the home turn. |
| Race 11 | Kolorful Kanvas Dash - C2 - 295 | ROYAL ACTION (6) settled at the rear after SWEET MARYLOU (7) had run inwards and made contact. JIMMY HAMMER (1) was tightened into the bend and lost ground with the trailing CAWBOURNE EDEN (4) also losing ground in consequence. SPEEDY DISPATCH (3) checked outwards off heels on the home turn. CAWBOURNE EDEN was referred to the vet for assessment and cleared of injury. |
| Race 12 | Snow-e Muscle, Energy & Fertility Sprint - C2 - 295 | The boxes failed to open on the first occasion with all runners removed and checked by the veterinarian with all dogs passed fit to race. Starter J Smith will be spoken to in the coming days in regards to the false start. At the restart CAWBOURNE CRAIG (2) was on its hind legs with the dog missing the jump by a considerable margin. WHIP UPPA STORM (3) and CHICAGO BLACK (6) jostled for some distance in the back straight. HOMEBUSH RILEY (7) was dragged down for a stride into the bend and lost momentum. WHIP UPPA STORM was checked on the bend when racing in tight quarters. HOMEBUSH RILEY was referred to the vet for assessment with no injury detected. |
