Track: Good After heavy rain mid morning the track was presented in a very good racing condition being well groomed throughout. All other equipment operated well.

Race 1 ABSOLUTELY ELECTRICAL C0 - C0 - 305 MUM'S THE BANK box 3 was slow away was then hampered for a stride or so as STOLE ME WALLET angled inwards. GUNNAR BLUEBLOOD was forced to race widest in to and across the top bend covering some extra ground running finishing on in to 5th placing at the line. MUM'S THE BANK after being hampered at the start raced in the rear there after finishing a margin in the rear at the line and was referred to the vet for assessment and was found to have pain in the right Sartorius muscle a 5 day stand down was recommended.
Race 2 WANGANUI CHRONICLE C0 - C0 - 305 MR MAIZE box 8 missed the jump by a length or so. Racing in to the first bend MR MAIZE angled inwards on to the hind of CHARRINA HILL tightening BIGTIME SAM, MATTIE BLUEBLOOD and GEEZ LOUISE hampering these runners for a couple of strides. CHARRINA HILL was checked at this point coming out and together with DOUBLE ICE. GEEZ LOUISE lost ground back to the rear and was unable to improve there after. Racing in to the bend MR MAIZE when improving around runners was forced to race wide across the top bend in to the home straight and was checked half way up the home straight as BIGTIME SAM ( fav ) angled across heels running in to MR MAIZE resulting in this runners losing a length finishing in 4th placing at the line. The Stewards reviewed the running up the home straight due to the movement of BIGTIME SAM outwards on to MR MAIZE ,there was no issue apart from MR MAIZE being checked.
Race 3 LASER PLUMBING WANGANUI C0 - C0 - 305 TAKE ACTION was presented to race at 2.9 kgs up today from her last race start on 17-4-16 this was an intentional increase for new Trainer M Goodier and was vetted clear to start. TAKE ACTION after being forced to race wide in to and across the top bend ran on well in to fourth placing at the line. RALLY SARIOUS box 8 went up with the lids slightly being last away. RALLY SARIOUS once in to stride angled across to the inner severely checking WINEVARA back to the rear. RALLY SARIOUS made quick ground along the inner to finish best in the run home. Racing in to the bend MISS MUFFET pushed out on to THRILLING MIA ( fav ) as ORANGEY YELLOW angled inwards catching the hind of THRILLING MIA who went sideways with ORANGEY YELLOW unable straighten jostling with THRILLING MIA catching her hind and stumbling losing momentum back to the rear and was unable to get back in to contention there after. TAKE ACTION on the outer of these runners was forced to race wide on to and across the top bend. ORANGY YELLOW was referred to the vet for assessment where no abnormalities were found.
Race 4 ADEPT ACCOUNTANTS WANGANUI C0 - C0 - 520 KING'S CALL box 8 dwelt at the start being last away. SHE'S MUSTARD from the boxes ran in sharply on to WORLD FREAKSHOW pushing this runner in across heels for a stride. Racing in to the bend on the first occasion SHE'S MUSTARD and WORLD FREAKSHOW came together when racing in the rear ,WORLD FREAKSHOW was pushed out wide having to cover a fair amount of extra ground in the run to the back straight DRIFTING ALONG just held a slender lead in to the back straight where KING'S CALL raced around the field to the lead. Heading to the far bend KING'S CALL in the lead appeared to slow for a stride coming back resulting in EM HOLLAND running on to the hind of KING'S CALL who appeared to be dragged down on his hind for a couple of strides being hampered by ALLEGRO BEAU as this runner went past . KING'S CALL lost ground back to midfield finishing in sixth placing at the line and was referred to the vet for assessment and was found to have pain over the right caudal deltoid muscle a 7 day stand down was recommended. DRIFTING ALONG the leader in to the back straight attempted to angle out wide in to the far bend and was tightened and checked between runners dropping back in the run home to finish several lengths in the rear at the line and was referred to the vet for assessment and was found to have pain in left thigh and abrasions down the off hind a 7 day stand down was recommended. The Stewards reviewed the run in to the far bend by KING'S CALL where it initially appeared the dog may have eased for a stride or so, due to the area and rail position the film was unclear as EM HOLLAND racing in tight quarters had run on to the hind of KING'S CALL pretty quickly. The Connections of KING'S CALL were shown a replay of the race with regards to the run in to the far bend with no further action taken for today's race.
Race 5 LIQUORLAND WANGANUI C1 - C1 - 305 Racing from the start CHAOS THEORY ran in sharply on to LET'S GO SPRITE, PLAITING PUSS and LURE ME IN checking these runners for a couple of strides. Racing in to the first bend the two leaders KIRKHAM COBY and CAWBOURNE HINT came together jostling slightly for a few strides. Racing in to the home straight LET'S GO SPRITE angled in on to CHAOS THEORY both runners bumping and jostling losing momentum but were well back at this point and not in contention. CHAIR UP from box 8 raced widest throughout covering a fair amount of extra ground ran on well in to third placing at the line
Race 6 KEENAN CONCRETE C1 - C1 - 305 SMART DANDY was slowest away racing towards the rear throughout. STAINLESS KNOCKA raced widest in to and across the bend finishing well in to third placing at the line Racing to the home turn ALLEGRO ALL GO raced through on the inner of SWEET LOVIN' pushing this runner out in to the racing line of JACQUI ATTACK hampering this runner for a stride or so. Nearing the winning post SWEET LOVIN' ran in across the face of JACQUI ATTACK resulting in JAQUI ATTACK catching the heels of SWEET LOVIN' almost tripping the dog up SWEET LOVIN' was lucky to stay on her paws as she crossed the line in 4th placing. SWEET LOVIN' was referred to the vet for assessment where no abnormalities were found.
Race 7 AON CPF C1 Ht1 - C1q - 520 Heat 1 THRILLING EVIE jumped fair from box 6 she raced in the rear in a strung out field finishing a margin in the rear at the line. THRILLING EVIE was referred to the vet for assessment and was found to suffering general soreness a 10 day stand down was recommended. WITCH MISTY was referred to the vet at the trainers request and was found to have a dew claw injury to the right fore a 5 day stand down was recommended.
Race 8 THE ROCK 95.2FM C1 Ht2 - C1q - 520 Heat 2 Racing in to the bend on the first occasion ZIMMER FRAME and EMBRACE ME bumped resulting in EMBRACE ME racing out wide at this point. Back towards the rear OPAWA SHILOH improved up on the inner of COME ON MICKEY with both runners coming together for a stride or so. Racing in to the far bend there was tightening and jostling as ZIMMER FRAME attempted pushed his way along the rail running on to the hind of OPAWA SPICE pushing this runner out on to and checking OPAWA MESSINI who went back on to COME ON MICKEY as this runner was improving from the rear.all these runners lost momentum and ground at this point.
Race 9 PALAMOUNTAINS SCIENTIFIC NUTRITION C1 Ht3 - C1q - 520 Heat 3 CROWD GOES WILD from box 7 was only fairly away and raced in the rear throughout finishing in last placing at the line. CROWD GOES WILD was referred to the vet for assessment where no abnormalities were found.
Race 10 FIRST SECURITY C1 Ht4 - C1q - 520 Heat 4 ANOTHER HABIT ( fav ) from box 4 was only fairly away racing in the body of the field in to the bend on the first occasion where he was tightened slightly losing ground back to the rear, then racing wide around the bend in to the back straight. ANOTHER HABIT improved wide out making good ground on the leaders to finish off best in the run home to win. Racing around the first bend CAWBOURNE BIRD was checked losing momentum as CANDID ANGEL improved past angling in across her face to the rail. CAWBOURNE BIRD lost ground back to a clear last in the running and did make ground back on to the field across the top bend finishing in the rear at the line.
Race 11 WANGANUI TOYOTA C1 Ht5 - C1q - 520 Heat 5 Racing in to the bend on the first occasion PHANTOM WAY racing in tight quarters caught the hind of OPAWA STELLA pushing this runner out on to CAWBOURNE PANIC and SCOTT THE BEST all these runners ran wide at this point. SCOTT THE BEST raced widest there after covering a fair amount of extra ground in the running finishing towards the rear at the line.
Race 12 BOOK YOUR FUNCTION @ HATRICK C1 - C1 - 305 Racing away from the boxes VEE VEERY LOVELY ran in across the face of DALLAS BAXTER checking this runner. Racing in to the first bend FIVE KAY LEG up handy was tightened inwards on to the heels of MALIGNED. FIVE KAY LEG lost momentum going back several lengths before angling out wide running home strongly in to third placing at the line.
Race 13 J P PRINT PETONE C1 - C1 - 305 Soon after the start HOMEBUSH FINE angled inwards as she headed towards the lead tightening MIDNIGHT ACTION in on to CAWBOURNE FOXY ( fav ) and KING HIT MIKE hampering these runners for a couple of strides. Racing in to the first bend MIDNIGHT ACTION looking to improve pushed out on to CAWBOURNE FOXY forcing this runner out on to NO MORE MARMITE and GULLY YAPPA improved angling inwards this resulted in CAWBOURNE FOXY and MIDNIGHT ACTION being tightened and checked, MIDNIGHT ACTION went sideways for a stride or so, CAWBOURNE FOXY was forced back running out over the heels of MIDNIGHT ACTION on to GULLY YAPPA pushing him widest on to the top bend . CAWBOURNE FOXY and GULLY YAPPA both lost all chance there after finishing towards the rear at the line. MIDNIGHT ACTION after striking trouble in to the first bend recovered well to finish in to 3rd placing at the line.
Race 14 MAX REFRIDGERATION C1 - C1 - 305 ELECTRIC DANDY box 1 stood when the lids went up missing the jump being last away by 4 to 5 lengths, he made good ground along the inner there after finishing in to 4th placing at the line. Racing off the mats SWIRLING EDDIE and MISS HOOK came together Racing in to the bend WORKING JEWEL angled in across the face of MISS HOOK forcing this runner to check out over heels coming together with MEAT DAMON ( fav ) checking and forcing this runner wide on to the top bend, MISS HOOK went wider covering a fair amount of there after finishing in the rear at the line. MEAT DAMON after being forced over extra ground finished well in to 3rd placing at the line.
Race 15 METEOR OPD WANGANUI C1 - C1 - 305 OPAL JEWEL box 5 began awkwardly stumbling slightly in to KYLA ROSE with SEDGEBROOK ASSET coming across tightening OPAL JEWEL back on to KYLA ROSE. OPAL JEWEL went back a length or so bumping with TOTES ( fav ). Racing on to the top of the bend TOTES ran in to the hind of ELITE DOSE with PREMIER PRINCE on their outer forced to race wider. EXACT MASTER box 1 was checked in to the first bend as ALAMEIN DUKE and OPAL JEWEL angled in towards the rail EXACT MASTER lost momentum back to last in the running and was unable to get back in to contention there after.
