Weather: Overcast
Track: Good Track was presented in a good racing condition being well groomed and watered through out the meeting. All other equipment operated well.
Scales: Correct at all weights
Health and Safety comment: Nil

Judicial report: HOMEBUSH SPOOK ( J T McInerney ) completed a satisfactory trial and was Vetted at the request of the Stewards with the dog being cleared of abnormalities and is now cleared to race.
DOCKER ( A Turnwald ) completed a satisfactory trial and is cleared to race from 28-5-2016 after being stood down for 3 months at Wentworth Park ( Australia ) on the 27-2-2016.
PEEJAY PRINGLES ( G & J Clarke ) was stood down race 14 Rule 79.1b failing to pursue ( 1st offence ) 28 days and to the completion of a satisfactory trial.

Race 1 ABSOLUTELY ELECTRICAL C0 - C0 - 305 Racing from the boxes KHAL DRAGO box 4 ran outwards sharply across the face of BIGTIME RUNNINGS,( fav ) MATTIE BLUEBLOOD and on to the shoulder of EYES ON KITTY. BIGTIME RUNNINGS and MATTIE BLUEBLOOD lost a couple of lengths as they got back in to stride. Racing in to the frits bend DARK WITCH from box 1 in the lead angled out towards the centre of the track across the face of EYES ON KITTY with KHAL DRAGO catching the heels of EYES ON KITTY. EYS ON KITTY ran in as the field raced on to the bend across the face of HOMEBUSH GRACIE checking this runner back and in on to BOTANY GOLD. HOMEBUSH GRACIE lost momentum going back between runners in to the shoulder of KHAL DRAGO who ran outwards forcing EYES ON KITTY wide racing on to the top bend. MATTIE BLUEBLOOD also ran wide across the top bend in to the home straight finishing on in to 4th placing at the line.
Race 2 WANGANUI CHRONICLE C0 - C0 - 305 TODD BLUE BLOOD box 7 went up with the lids being last away by 10 lengths and was unable to get in to contention there after finishing in the rear at the line. IDOL EVE box 3 also dwelt at the start being slow away racing well back in to the first bend. IDOL EVE made ground across the top finishing in to 4th placing at the line. Racing in to the first bend CULVIE DEN ( fav ) on the inner was bumped and hampered for several strides as DRIFTING ALONG attempting to get to the lead angled in. CHARRINA HILL improved past on the outer of DRIFTING ALONG in to the bend angling in and checking this runner back on to the shoulder of SCOTT NO SHOW as ANOTHER RELM on the outer made contact with the hind of SCOTT NO SHOW with these runners running wide on to and across the top bend covering extra ground and finishing towards the rear at the line. SCOTT NO SHOW was referred to the vet for assessment on returning to the kennels and was found to have suffered a laceration to the left hind that required suturing a 14 day stand down was recommended.
Race 3 LASER PLUMBING WANGANUI C0 - C0 - 305 ANOTHER CASINO and CAWBOURNE JARROD bumped in the run to the first bend. Racing in to the first bend IDOL GEE ( fav ) angled in across the face of NANA'S GIRL checking this runner back on to UNO MARCUS who went back off heels bumping in to SPEEDY BLUEBLOOD. Racing on to the bend UNO MARCUS was tightened inwards on to CALA D'OR with both runners bumping losing ground and were unable to get back in to contention there after.
Race 4 ADEPT ACCOUNTANTS WANGANUI Maiden Final - C0f - 305 Soon after the start there was tightening and jostling as MAP MY RUN ( fav ) ANOTHER RANGER, HOME BUSH FLAME and TERRA TRIP came together as CAWBOURNE ESKI box 8 raced across the face of these runners. HOMEBUSH FLAME was severely checked at this point going down on her back hocks for a stride or so. MAP MY RUN, HOMEBUSH FLAME, TERRA TRIP and ANOTHER RANGER all lost a fair amount of ground at this point . MAP MY RUN when rebalanced attempted to improve across the top bend running on to heels on a couple of occasions losing momentum finishing towards the rear at the line. HOMEBUSH FLAME was referred to the vet for assessment and was found to have pain on extension right shoulder a 10 day stand down was recommended.
Race 5 LIQUORLAND WANGANUI C0 - C0 - 520 WORLD FREAKSHOW box 4 dwelt at the start being slowest away. Racing to the bend on the first occasion WORLD FREAKSHOW after being slow away was hampered when attempting to improve as OPAWA MERC came out in her racing line. Racing in to the bend out of the straight on the first ocassion BELFAST BARRY angled across on to ROCKY AWESOME checking this runner with both dogs jostling for a couple of stride racing out wide around this bend. SHE'S MUSTARD was caught wide in to the bend on the first occasion being forced to cover extra ground for some distance. ROCKY MCAWESOME was referred to the vet at the trainers request and was found to have pain in the d4 of the off fore leg a 14 day stand down was recommended.
Race 6 KEENAN CONCRETE WANGANUI C0 - C0 - 305 Racing from the boxes ORANGEY YELLOW ran in on to KIRKHAM WEBBY ( fav ) bumping this runner off balance for a stride or so. Racing in to the first bend KIRKHAM WEBBY angled inwards across the line of ORANGEY YELLOW checking this runner back on to MARY BLUE BLOOD. ORANGEY YELLOW lost momentum in this incident losing several lengths. ORANGEY YELLOW ran widest on to the first bend making good ground there after to finish on in to 4th placing at the line.
Race 7 AON CPF C1 - C1 - 520 All clear
Race 8 THE ROCK 95.2FM C1 - C1 - 305 Racing to the first bend GULLY FLAHERTY was slightly checked as KAY MARTING arced to the lead angling across towards the rail, GULLY FLAHERTY was tightened and jostled for several strides going back on to HOLLY BLUE BLOOD who went out on to BIG BEN. HOLLY BLUE BLOOD went sideways for a stride or so going back to the rear. BELFAST EJIT trailed the leader from in to the bend running down KAY MARTING close to the line to win. Soon after being taken off the lure BELFAST EJIT was found to have an injury and was referred to the vet for assessment where it was found that the dog was just suffering from cramping and quickly recovered no stand down recommended.
Race 9 PALAMOUNTAINS SCIENTIFIC NUTRITION C1 - C1 - 520 Racing from the boxes JELLY GEM box 2 slipped almost going down on her nose. Soon after the muzzle of JELLY GEM came off. The muzzle stayed in the centre of the track and was retrieved after the race and found to be in good order. The Stewards reviewed the run down the home straight where it was clear no runners were affected through out the running as a result of the muzzle on the track. Trainer J Udy reported that the muzzle on JELLY GEM is the usual the dog races in.
Race 10 FIRST SECURITY C1 - C1 - 520 Racing in to the bend on the first occasion there was tightening and jostling as KIRKHAM HARVEY came out and PEDRO'S CARAT angled inwards resulting BLACKIE CHAN being tightened and checked back on to WALL AGE, OPAWA GAIL on the outer of WALL AGE was bumped as CAWBOURNE MARCY angled across in to the bend. all these runners lost ground in to the bend. SCOTT THE BEST racing back in the field ran out wide across heels in to the home straight.
Race 11 DOPOEY DOG LASER ENGRAVING C1 - C1 - 305 GULLY YAPPER box 1 went up with the lids being last away by several lengths. Racing in to the first bend ALLEGRO STYLE ( fav ) and TEPIRITA HENDRIX came together bumping for some strides. ALLEGRO STYLE after being only fairly away was never in contention finishing towards the rear at the line.
Race 12 BOOK YOUR FUNCTION @ HATRICK 06 345-6794 C1 - C1 - 520 Racing from the boxes PUNCH ON JAMIE ( fav ) ran in sharply across the face of PANDA RING and LEKTRA SPIDER resulting in these runners being checked and coming together. LEKTRA SPIDER and PANDA RING jostled for several more strides as LEKTRA SPIDER attempted to move outwards. SHERRIFF ROSCOE from box 3 raced wide in to the bend on the first occasion continuing to race wide there after covering a fair amount of extra ground in the running.
Race 13 J P PRINT PETONE C1 - C1 - 305 This race was delayed 2 minutes at the request of Race Day Control. Soon after the start OPWA MAF box 1 ran outwards on to the shoulder of CAWBOURNE ELPASO ( fav ) jostling for a stride or so, soon after OPAWA MAF changed ground inwards towards the rail cutting down across the face of ODD FELLOW and TAKEAWAY badly checking these runners back to the rear. HOMEBUSH JUSTINE a clear leader in to the first bend ran outwards and was bumped by CAWBOURNE ELPASO as this dog race through on her inner, these two runners raced wide across the top bend in to the home straight. After changing ground a couple of times in the early stages OPAWA MAF when racing across the top bend gained a clear run along the inner to finish best in the run home to win.
Race 14 MAX REFRIDGERATION C1 - C1 - 305 CAWBOURNE FOXY ( fav ) was last away by a couple of lengths. Racing from the boxes ZIRCON and PEEJAY PRINGLES came together with both runners jostling for a few strides. Racing to the first bend UNO NIGEL angled across tightening PEEJAY PRINGLES in on to OPAWA TOMMO and CAWBOURNE FOXY who made contact with the rail. CAWBOURNE FOXY lost ground to last in the running and was unable to get in to contention there after. CAWBOURNE FOXY was referred to the vet for assessment and was found to have bruising to distal near fore a 5 day stand down was recommended. Racing on to the bend PEEJAY PRINGLES racing wide out was observed to turn her head out towards RAINCHECK for several strides as they raced around the bend. PEEJAY PRINGLES finished towards the rear and was referred to the vet for assessment where she was found to have a puncture wound & bruising to both hind feet a 10 day stand down down was recommended. Trainer J Clarke was shown a replay of the run in to and across the top bend where it was clear on the film that PEEJAY PRINGLES had turned her head out towards RAINCHECK for at least 5 strides and was failing to pursue the lure as required under the rules. PEEJAY PRINGLES has been stood down for 28 days and to the completion of a satisfactory trial Rule 79.1b first offence ( failing to pursue )
Race 15 METEOR OPD WANGANUI C1 - C1 - 305 COOL DEXTER box 1 went up with the lids being last away by a couple of lengths. COOL DEXTER was soon in to stride gaining a run along the inner to finish in to 3rd placing at the line. From the jump wider out THAT'S A WRAP box 7 ran across sharply across the face of KALISI checking this runner back on to HYDE BAXTER , PREMIER PRINCE and BAD WEEK all being tightened and jostled for a couple of strides. PREMIER PRINCE soon after in clear running ran outwards forcing HYDE BAXTER wide out for a few strides. HYDE BAXTER when clear angled inwards racing in to the first bend drifting back to a clear last in the running finishing a margin in the rear at the line and was unable to run on to the lure falling to the track short of the lure. HYDE BAXTER was retrieved and referred to the vet for assessment where an examination was carried out.
