Judicial report: OPAWA DIVA (Lane & Wales) which was stood down for failing to pursue on 8 April, was represented to Vet Dave Matheson on 9 April and found to have a serious hip injury. As per Rule 79.5 the stand down has been rescinded with the dog having to complete a satisfactory trial before resuming.

Race 1	Super Pets Sprint - C3 - 295	GOLDSTAR CHUMLEE (3) jumped inwards crowding MARK BE GOOD (2) for a stride. MARK BE GOOD ran outwards into the bend tightening GOLDSTAR CHUMLEE which lost ground. GOLDSTAR CHUMLEE was again hampered on the bend as ALEX RUMBLE (6) angled inwards. WEARS THE GOLD (7) ran very wide on the home turn losing ground.
Race 2	Happy 20th Birthday Kerryn O'Sullivan Dash - C3 - 295	TIMELY REMINDER (2) was last to jump. HOMEBUSH GRU (5) was badly tightened into the bend and lost ground with LEKTRA CONCORD (6) and BIG MUDDY (8) being forced over extra ground. OPAWA LEAN MEAT (1) ran outwards on the bend pushing FIERY FAGAN (4) wider on the track.
Race 3	Thursday Place Pick Sprint - C3 - 295	WOOLY WHATSIT (4) and ZORBA THE GREEK (5) were the last pair on jumping. MANDI MAE (3) ran outwards and checked off the hind quarters of HOMEBUSH PAIGE (6) into the bend with both runners losing ground. MANDI MAE dropped out to a clear last with this bitch being referred to the vet for assessment where she was found to have soreness in her hip support. ZORBA THE GREEK ran wide on the home turn losing ground.
Race 4	christchurchgreyhounds.co.nz Stakes - C3 - 520	ACE BALE (8) was last to jump. KINLOCH POWER (5) ran inwards in the early stages causing tightening to KNOW SCHOLAR (4) and WILLIS (3). RUSHCUTER ACTION (2) then ran outwards again tightening this pair and causing KINLOCH POWER to check outwards. KINLOCH POWER lost considerable ground at this stage and dropped away with this bitch being referred to the vet for assessment where she was found to have an inflamed and bleeding nail bed. KNOW SCHOLAR ran wide in the back straight losing ground.
Race 5	I Pave Concrete Dash - C5 - 295	RICK'S TREASURE (4) and KERAMUS (6) were the last pair at the jump. GOLD VIPA (3) was tightened in the early stages as DYNA QUIRK (2) shifted outwards. GOLD VIPA ran inwards into the turn checking DYNA QUIRK. SMASH THAT (1) shifted up the track in the home straight and checked off the heels of KERAMUS losing momentum.
Race 6	Robbie's Bar & Bistro NZ Oaks Heat 1 - R/Aq - 520 Heat 1	CAWBOURNE KRISTY (4) and ZIPPING SASHA (7) were the last pair on jumping. ESTER ACTION (2) and IDOL LEANNE (1) were both tightened into the first bend losing ground. CAWBOURNE KRISTY ran inwards on the first bend checking RAEWYN (3) which lost ground. ANOTHER LIZ (6) was checked on the first bend as IDOL LEANNE improved to its inside. ESTER ACTION lost ground at the end of the back straight. ANOTHER LIZ dropped out to finish a clear last with this bitch being referred to the vet for assessment where it was found that she had a fractured metatarsal bone.
Race 7	Robbie's Bar & Bistro NZ Oaks Heat 2 - R/Aq - 520 Heat 2	STARBURST EMMA (2), GOLDSTAR AVERY (5) and KNOW ANSWER (8) were the last trio on jumping. OPAWA VAL (4) checked outwards off the heels of OPAWA SHACKLEY (6) on the first bend and pushed CAWBOURNE CLOVER (7) wider on the track. GOLDSTAR AVERY ran wide around the first bend. STARBURST EMMA ran outwards on the home turn pushing KNOW ANSWER wider on the track.
Race 8	Kolorful Kanvas Sprint - C4 - 295	GORILLA ON DRUMS (1) was very slow to jump losing its chance. ULTRA ACTION (4) was slow over the early stages. GET READY FREDDY (7) ran inwards in the early stages clipping the heels of KNOW KNOWING (6). CARNEGIE HALL (8) and KNOW KNOWING came together wide on the track on the home turn. HOMEBUSH ARIEL (3) ran wide around the home turn. GORILLA ON DRUMS and CARNEGIE HALL were both referred to the vet for assessment and cleared of any abnormalities.
Race 9	Carol's T.A.B. Sprint - C5 - 295	In the back straight GRAND APACHE (7) ran inwards simultaneously to TINA (1) angled outwards resulting in TINA and PUMA PANTS (2) losing ground. Wider out DREAM LARGE (8) ran inwards colliding with CAWBOURNE BUTTSY (6) with DREAM LARGE stumbling and losing ground. DREAM LARGE was referred to the vet for assessment and cleared of injury. ARBRE CHENE (4) raced wide around the home turn.
Race 10	Flair Dash - C5 - 295	COUNTRY CROSSING (1) was a shade slow to jump. BELIEVE (2) angled outwards into the bend as PAPERBOND (8) ran inwards resulting in BARNICLE BULLET (3), WHEELCHAIR NORM (4), EBERT BALE (5) and CAPTAIN SHAZZ (6) all receiving significant interference. COUNTRY CROSSING and EBERT BALE came together on the bend. AIDEN BAXTER (9/7) raced wide around the home turn. Early in the home straight CAPTAIN SHAZZ ran inwards and collided with WHEELCHAIR NORM with CAPTAIN SHAZZ falling to the track and being trampled by a trailing runner. COUNTRY CROSSING and EBERT BALE were hampered in this incident. CAPTAIN SHAZZ was found to a fractured leg.
Race 11	Christchurch Casino Stakes - C4/5 - 520	BENJAMIN BLACK (6) was last to jump. MYSTIC ACTION (7) was tightened in the early stages losing ground. BENJAMIN BLACK was checked with a lap to run and dropped to the rear. CAN'T CATCH TIM (1) and MYSTIC ACTION raced wide around the first bend. OPAWA KEVIN (2) ran wide in the home straight.
Race 12	Livamol Sprint - C4 - 295	HOMEBUSH ROCKY (6) was a shade slow to jump. OPAWA COLIN (3) ran outwards in the early stages simultaneously to KIHAEL KALUNA (8) angled inwards resulting in MUST DESIRE (7), HOMEBUSH ROCKY, WALLY BAXTER (5) and CALINDA GIRL (4) all being checked. CALINDA GIRL and WALLY BAXTER came together at the end of the back straight. Into the bend KIHAEL KAHUNA and GUMP'S THE NAME (1) collided. OPAWA COLIN checked outwards off the heels of GUMP'S THE NAME into the bend checking HOMEBUSH ROCKY. GUMP'S THE NAME then ran wide around the home turn. CALINDA GIRL and WALLY BAXTER were referred to the vet for assessment with no injuries detected.
