On the first bend RICH ACTION was tightened between SKILLZ TAYLOR (2) and ESTER ACTION (7) losing ground. OPAWA BUCKS EYE (8) raced wide around the first bend and continued to cover extra ground throughout. |
| Race 3 | Shirley Vet Clinic Sprint - C1 - 295 | GIGANAIRE (2) and HOMEBUSH JUSTINE (3) came together in the early stages. Wider out IDOL GEORGIE (6) was checked as CHIPPY JORDY (7) ran inwards. CAWBOURNE SHADOW (5) was badly checked into the bend losing ground with HIGH ON VEE (4) and IDOL GEORGIE hampered in behind. IDOL GEORGIE then ran outwards on the home turn pushing HOMEBUSH JUSTINE wider on the track. |
| Race 4 | I Pave Concrete Dash - C1 - 295 | JOHNNYBRUCE (7) ran inwards in the early stages simultaneously to JACK'S A JEWEL (1) running outwards resulting in EKALI (6), ANOTHER VESPA (5), SAL'S BABE (4) and MAX BRAINSTRAIN (2) all being tightened and losing ground. GOD PARTICLE (3) raced in restricted quarters in the back straight. EKALI was checked into the bend when racing on the heels of GOD PARTICLE. |
| Race 5 | Clarkson Sign Studio Sprint - C1 - 295 | PRIVATE AGENDA (4) and PADDY THE BAKER (7) were the last pair on jumping. LEXIE RAE (2) ran outwards in the back straight and continued to cover extra ground throughout. On the bend LUCAS SCOTT (5) checked outwards off the hind quarters of EUG THE SCROOGE (8) losing momentum. LUCAS SCOTT was checked and cleared by the vet post race. |
| Race 6 | Hampden Tavern Stakes - C1 - 520 | OPAWA GRUNTER (8) was last to jump. OPAWA STELLA (3) lost ground in the run to the first bend after receiving tightening from RIO ACTION (4), which had been forced down the track by MAJESTIC ACTION (5), on its outside and GOLDSTAR JAGGER (2) which had angled outwards. RIO ACTION checked outwards off OPAWA GRUNTER on the first bend and lost ground. GOLDSTAR JAGGER and MAJESTIC ACTION bumped around the first bend when racing at the rear. OPAWA STELLA raced wide in the back straight. RIO ACTION ran outwards on the home turn contacting OPAWA STELLA which lost ground. OPAWA STELLA was checked and cleared by the vet post race. |
| Race 7 | David Emerson Consultancy Dash - C1 - 295 | CAWBOURNE KIN (4) was last to jump. KNOW LUCK (9/8) ran inwards in the early stages checking COLERIDGE JIM (7) and SPRINKLES (6) with this pair dropping to the rear. Into the bend an improving CAWBOURNE KIN caught the heels of CUPCAKE (2) and became unbalanced running outwards and pushing KNOW LUCK very wide on the track. CAWBOURNE KIN was referred to the vet for assessment and cleared of any abnormality. |
| Race 8 | Active Electrical Christchurch Sprint - C1 - 295 | OUR JOHN (7) was a clear last at the jump. VAL BAXTER (3) was checked and dragged down by MORNING GYPSY (4) in the early stages. Wider out KINLOCH ACTION (8) ran inwards checking YOU'RE THE BEST (6) and PETRA HAKA (5). Into the bend CHAIR UP (2) ran outwards checking PETRA HAKA. MORNING GYPSY was tightened into the bend and lost ground. FOXY BABE (1) raced wide around the home turn losing ground. VAL BAXTER was checked and cleared by the vet post race. |
| Race 9 | Garden City Chem-Dry Stakes - C1 - 520 | MAGIC DOZER (2) ran outwards in the initial stages checking IN THE BOOT (4), JON SNOW LIVES (5) and RED HOT ACTION (6). JEWEL EAGLE (8) was checked by inside runners into the first bend and lost ground. PLUTONIUM (1) checked outwards off the heels of MAGIC DOZER into the first bend and lost ground. MAGIC DOZER ran wide around that bend and lost ground. On the bend JON SNOW LIVES was checked by PLUTONIUM and ran outwards pushing OPAWA ALEX (7) wider on the track. |
| Race 10 | Glenbyre Tavern Dash - C1 - 295 | CRYSTALL MCBELL (4) was a late scratching at kenneling when found to be in season. This race was delayed by one minute at the request of the TAB. ROYAL BASH (8) was slow to jump. ZIPPORA BLAZE (7) ran inwards on dispatch checking PEYTON SAWYER (6). MIDNIGHT ACTION (2) shifted up the track into the bend pushing ZIPPORA BLAZE over extra ground. PEYTON SAWYER ran outwards on the home turn briefly brushing with ROYAL BASH when this pair were racing at the rear. |
| Race 11 | Dave Robbie Photographer Sprint - C1 - 295 | UNO JAMES (3) was last on jumping. DEVILSKIN (6) ran inwards in the early stages checking SEA SPRAY ELSA (5). Soon after KRISTA BARISTA (8) ran inwards checking DEVILSKIN and pushing BIGTIME TIP (4) down the track on to NOBLE FANTASY (1) which lost ground. Into the bend HARDEN FASTER (7) ran inwards checking DEVILSKIN with the trailing UNO JAMES receiving a check and dropping to the rear. UNO JAMES raced wide around the home turn. SEA SPRAY ELSA was found to have a spike wound and bruising to a leg following this event. |
| Race 12 | Protexin Dash - C1 - 295 | DOOSH (6) was last to jump with CAWBOURNE CRAIG (1) also settling well back. BHUJA (7) ran inwards in the early stages checking JINNO GINO (5) and OHOKA HOPE (4). DOOSH shifted marginally outwards on the home turn pushing STAR APACHE (2) and JINNO GINO over extra ground. |
