| Race 1 | Sel's TAB Mangere Sprint - C1 - 318 | COOKIE MONSTER (1), RED RASCAL (4) and JETSUN STORM (8) were slow away. LOVELY RITA (5) and CALM NUSKA (3) were momentarily inconvenienced racing down the back straight when TEPIRITA AMBER (6) angled in in front of these runners. CALM NUSKA lost ground racing into the first turn after making contact with the hindquarters of RED RASCAL. Entering the first turn MISS BUNNYTHORPE (7) angled in making contact with LOVELY RITA. At the same time JETSUN STORM and CALM NUSKA came together with these runners shifting out. Soon after TEPIRITA AMBER angled in onto LE ROI (2) with these runners becoming unbalanced with TEPIRITA AMBER shifting out into the line of LOVELY RITA, MISS BUNNYTHORPE and JETSUN STORM with all involved runners badly hampered losing considerable ground and TEPIRITA AMBER falling as a result. TEPIRITA AMBER regained its footing to finish the race some distance from the field with a post race veterinary examination revealing no abnormality. |
| Race 2 | Greyhounds As Pets Sprint - C3/4 - 318 | There was a one minute delay to the start of this event at the request of TAB control. SACRED CAN YOU (3) and VINTAGE OSTI (5) came together and jostled for a distance racing down the back straight with these runners shifting out racing into the first turn with VINTAGE OSTI then losing ground coming together with MYRNIONG GIRL. ROTOVEGAS RARA (8) who trailed the field throughout finishing a distant last was referred to the veterinarian with pain in the right hip support detected and a 14 day stand down imposed. |
| Race 3 | DogZone Stakes - C2/3 - 527 | JINJALESS (7) angled in abruptly leaving the boxes inconveniencing FORTIS FLIER (6), GLOBAL CONQUEST (5) and KITTY'S SHIRAZ (4) who all lost ground. Entering the first turn KITTY'S SHIRAZ was checked when FORTIS FLIER angled in tightening this runner with KITTY'S SHIRAZ then shifting out off this runners heels hampering GLOBAL CONQUEST. As a result THRILLING EVIE who was trailing these runners shifted wide losing ground. GLOBAL CONQUEST had to steady losing ground after became awkwardly placed on the heels of KITTY'S SHIRAZ entering the back straight. |
| Race 4 | Sel Loader Tribute Sprint - C3 - 318 | KIMETTO (6) was slow away. RASSO (2) and ARMISTICE DAY (9) came together soon after the start. RASSO, ARMISTICE DAY, ATOONGA AIR (5) and FORTIS FIONA (7) came together for a distance racing down the back straight with these runners further inconvenienced when NO MORE DEBT (8) shifted in making contact with these runners. NO MORE DEBT then jostled for several strides with WAERENGA STAR (1) who lost ground entering the first turn. RASSO, ARMISTICE DAY, ATOONGA AIR (5) and FORTIS FIONA (7) continued to make contact entering the first turn losing ground with KIMETTO (6) then angling in coming together with these runners. RASSO was inconvenienced rounding the bend shifting out off the heels of KIMETTO. |
| Race 5 | Carol's TABS Stakes - C1 - 527 | PLENTY OF TIME (1) and RUBY MURRAY (4) were slow away. Entering the first turn APRIL'S MY MUM (7) angled in tightening JINJA MIA who was tightened and checked losing ground. PODIUM BONUS (5) steadied losing ground entering the back straight when placed in restricted room. JINJA MIA and APRIL'S MY MUM came together rounding the final bend and again entering the final straight. JELLY GEM (8) who trailed the field throughout was examined by the veterinarian following this event with pain in the left pectoral detected and a 10 day stand down imposed. |
| Race 6 | Stitches Upholstery Sprint - C2 - 318 | DON'T BRAG (1) and SCOTT NO ODDS (6) were slow away. DON'T BRAG and MORE SALT NEEDED (2) came together and jostled for some distance racing down the back straight with DON'T BRAG losing ground entering the first turn. DON'T BRAG then raced wide for a distance. KAPAI LANA (5) and SPOTTED FLYER (7) came together rounding the first turn. MORE SALT NEEDED shifted in becoming awkwardly placed near the running rail rounding the first bend with a veterinary examination revealing no abnormality. Rounding the bend SCOTT NO ODDS (6) shifted in, when racing toward the rear of the field, making contact with the running rail losing ground with a post race veterinary examination revealing no abnormality. |
| Race 7 | Plasterboard Ltd Auckland Cup Semi-Final 1 - C5q - 527 Heat 1 | TAKAMORI was presented with a 1.2kg increase in weight with connections advising this was an intentional weight variance. GOLD CLASS (7) angled in leaving the boxes inconveniencing OPAWA SHACKLEY (6) and TAKAMORI (5) who were both unbalanced losing ground. BOSTON HEART (3) and JESSIE SURFS (4) came together soon after leaving the boxes with JESSIE SURFS losing ground then shifting in across the heels of BOSTON HEART. FANTASTIC SYD (8) angled in entering the first turn tightening OPAWA SHACKLEY, who was checked, then making contact with GOLD CLASS (7) who was taken in onto SKUZI (2) with these three runners all unbalanced with GOLD CLASS and FANTASTIC SID losing ground. As a result KNOW DECISION (1) who was trailing, shifted out taking BOSTON HEART and TAKAMORI out onto OPAWA SHACKLEY who was unbalanced losing ground. GOLD CLASS and FANTASTIC SID continued to make contact for a distance with GOLD CLASS then giving ground. Racing into the back straight KNOW DECISION shifted out inconveniencing FANTASTIC SID who was taken wider into the line of OPAWA SHACKLEY who got on this runners heels becoming unbalanced and fell. OPAWA SHACKLEY regained its footing to finish some distance from the field with a post race veterinary examination revealing a minor laceration on the neck with a 10 day stand down imposed. A post race veterinary examination of GOLD CLASS revealed pain in the right hock with a 21 day stand down imposed. |
| Race 8 | Plasterboard Ltd Auckland Cup Semi-Final 2 - C5q - 527 Heat 2 | CHIPPA LATA was presented with a .8kg decrease in weight with connections advising this was an intentional weight variance. KAVA BLU (5), MISS VELOCETTE (6) and KEVIN IN BANGKOK (7) came together for a distance racing toward the first turn with these runners all unbalanced losing ground. Also inconvenienced as a result was BRALYN CHARLIE (8) who came together with these runners losing ground. CAWBOURNE BRICK (2) contacted the hindquarters of ROCK LASS (4) entering the first turn losing ground going back onto JOE JOE (3) who then raced in restricted room for a distance then losing ground entering the back straight. ROCK LASS and KAVA BLU came together on several occasions in the final straight with ROCK LASS losing ground. ROCK LASS became placed in restricted room shortly after the finish and fell with a post race veterinary examination revealing no abnormality. |
| Race 9 | Plasterboard Ltd Auckland Cup Semi-Final 3 - C5q - 527 Heat 3 | ARCTIC ACTION (3) and FABIO (9) made brief contact leaving the boxes. Entering the first turn OUR GYPSY (8) angled in into the line of ARCTIC ACTION (3) who was checked having to shift out abruptly off this runners heels. OUR GYPSY then continued to shift in making contact with MISS ELDORA (1) with these runners then further inconvenienced when FABIO (9) was tightened and checked coming back onto these runners. OUR GYPSY was tightened and checked losing ground entering the back straight when placed in restricted room. |
| Race 10 | Railway Sprint Semi-Final 1 - C5q - 318 Heat 1 | GOOD RETURN (4) was slow away. FIREMANS GALAXY (6) and MACJAM (7) came together soon after the start with these runners then hampered when SWEET AS BRO (5) shifted out making solid contact with these runners. SWEET AS BRO then shifted in making contact with TALKIN FANCY (2) on several occasions racing toward the first turn with SWEET AS BRO then shifting out getting on the heels of MACJAM losing ground as a result. Entering the first turn COUNTRY GUN (3) shifted out off the heels of MADE TIME (8) hampering FIREMANS GALAXY who was taken wider on the track with these runners losing ground. SMASH ALLEGRO (1) was placed in restricted room rounding the bend having to check losing ground. |
| Race 11 | Railway Sprint Semi-Final 2 - C5q - 318 Heat 2 | SANDOR GLEGANE (3) was last to leave the boxes. ALLEGRO TOUCH (4) and ZIPPING STEVE (2) were inconvenienced soon after the start when SOLARIAN (5) angled in in front of these runners with ZIPPING STEVE then shifting out making contact with ALLEGRO TOUCH. SOLARIAN and NANGAR STAR (6) came together for a stride racing down the back straight. Entering the first turn HALLO STAR (8) angled in inconveniencing THRILLING GALAXY then getting into the line of SOLARIAN who contacted this runners hindquarters. Soon after SUBIC BAY (1) made contact with SOLARIAN when improving to the inside of this runner with SOLARIAN then shifting out inconveniencing HALLO STAR who lost ground. Rounding the final bend SANDOR GLEGANE became awkwardly placed inside the heels of THRILLING GALAXY (7) shifting out abruptly hampering ALLEGRO TOUCH who was taken wide with these runners losing ground. THRILLING GALAXY shifted out off heels entering the final straight making contact with HALLO STAR (8). |
| Race 12 | Jack's Wholesale Meats Sprint - C1 - 318 | PLAITING PUSS (1) and JUMP ON IT (4) were slow away. Racing toward the first turn DIVA POSE (7) shifted in into the line of YOU BETCHA NODDY (5) who was inconvenienced. Entering the first turn PRAIRIE KACHINA (6) angled in tightening ASTA (3) and JUMP ON IT (4) who were hampered losing ground going back onto PLAITING PUSS. Also inconvenienced shifting wide as a result were DIVA POSE and YOU BETCHA NODDY. Rounding the bend DIVA POSE angled in onto PLAITING PUSS becoming unbalanced for several strides losing ground then going back onto ASTA. |
