Race 1 ABSOLUTELY ELECTRICAL C1 - C1 - 305 Racing in to the first bend HYDE BAXTER angled in across the heels of HOMEBUSH PIPI on to BELFAST SMARTY checking this runner back, on her inner HOMEBUSH LUCIFER ( fav ) was tightened for room losing momentum for a couple of strides. Racing in to the bend as BELFAST SMARTY went back she came out bumping in to LICK IT UP forcing this runner wide. Racing to the home turn BELFAST SMARTY ran wider with LICK IT UP angling in across her heels both dogs finished in the rear at the line.
Race 2 LASER PLUMBING C1 - C1 - 305 HOMEBUSH BOUNCE was a late scratching due to vomiting & diarrhoea. Soon after the start OPEHU FLYER ran inwards across the face of PETITE JOY checking HOMEBUSH TIARE and GULLY YAPPER back, OPEHU FLYER then bumped in to ODD FELLOW. Soon after being checked HOMEBUSH TIARE angled inwards becoming uncomfortable in his galloping action losing ground to a clear last in the running finishing on to the lure HOMEBUSH TIARE was referred to the vet for assessment where no abnormalities were found.
Race 3 WANGANUI CHRONICLE C2 - C2 - 305 Racing to the first bend PREMIER PRINCE came out on to EFFECTIVE POWER ( fav ) as BIG BOY DENO angled across tightening EFFECTIVE POWER further. EFFECTIVE POWER was bumped and jostled back towards the rear as the field raced in to the first bend where he was further jostled when coming together with HOMEBUSH LIMBO who had been hampered as BRALYN CHARLIE angled inwards pushing PREMIER PRINCE inwards. EFFECTIVE POWER was unable to get back in to contention there after finishing towards the rear at the line. BRALYN CHARLIE ( 1st NZ ) start today after being towards the rear in to the first bend ,then having to angle out wider across the bend to make ground finished in to 4th placing at the line.
Race 4 ADEPT ACCOUNTANTS C2 - C2 - 305 SHELLY MCBELL was a late scratching due to Vomiting & Diarrhoea. TWO UP ( fav ) box 6 wasn't the best away, racing off the mat ARCHIE'S TIME angled out on to TWO UP as ELITE DOSE box 8 angled across cutting CASUAL SIPPER BACK and tightening and jostling TWO UP causing him to stumble and go back a length or so. TWO UP soon recovered to race up in to the body of the field racing in to the first bend, angling inwards across the face of CASUAL SIPPER checking this runner back. TWO UP and WINFEILD AUTUMN came together jostling for a few more strides, on the outer of TWO UP ELITE DOSE angled in hampering this runner for a couple of strides also. When in the clear TWO UP made good ground to finish in to 2nd placing at the line. TWO UP was referred to the Vet as a precaution after stumbling in the early stages and was found to have lacerations to both hinds a 7 day stand down was recommended.
Race 5 FIRST SECURITY C1/2 - C1/2 - 520 CAWBOURNE SATIN box 2 went up with the lids slightly. ZIPPING JOCK box 5 began awkwardly as did SHERLOCK IZMIR from box 1. Soon after the start YOU'RE SO FREE and OUR GYPSY ( fav ) raced across with YOU'RE SO FREE bumping in to ZIPPING JOCK and OUR GYPSY caught the hindquarters of LADY ZEENA . ZIPPING JOCK became unbalanced for a couple of strides going back to the rear. CAWBOURNE SATINwas referred to the vet at the trainers request and was found to have pain over the left gracilis a 7 day stand down was recommended. racing in to the bend on the first occasion OUR GYPSY raced up angling in between runner bumping in to ALAMEIN BLONDE who kept pushing forward not losing her position, SHERLOCK IZMIR on the inner was checked when running on to the hind of ALAMEIN BLONDE, SHERLOCK IZMIR ran outwards off heels on to ZIPPING JOCK pushing this runner out on to CAWBOURNE SATIN and YOU'RE SO FREE ,these runners bumped and jostled for some strides racing towards the back straight losing ground and were unable to get in to contention there after.
Race 6 THE ROCK 95.2FM - C2/3 - 305 BRILLIANT ASHLEE ( fav ) box 1 began awkwardly missing the start by several lengths. Racing to the first bend NGAURUHOE angled across coming together with CAWBOURNE PEEJAY tightening MISS MOHAWK back from between them. Racing in to the first bend NGAURUHOE became awkwardly placed going off balance back to the rear racing wide across the top bend in to the and down the home straight finishing in the rear at the line. After a poor start BRILLIANT ASHLEE made good ground along the inner to finish in to 4th placing at the line. NGAURUHOE was referred to the vet for assessment and was found to have pain over the right gracilis a 14 day stand down recommended
Race 7 LIQUORLAND WANGANUI C2/3 - C2/3 - 305 Soon after the start BOW RIVER MAN angled outwards across the face of PINK SHELLAC, with CHOCKDEE ALICE angling across the face of CAWBOURNE GEORGE checking this runner back across the heels stumbling for a stride or so at this point. Soon after nearing the first bend BOW RIVER MAN in midfield angled outwards checking BRILLIANT JAYLA and CHOCKDEE ALICE who was forced to angle inwards off heels running in to the hind of PINK SHELLAC across the hind of LAGOON MAC on to CAWBOURNE GEORGE who made contact with the rail, PINK SHELLAC and BOW RIVER MAN both ran in to the side of LAGOON MAC turning this runners sideways resulting in LAGOON MAC almost falling and was held on his feet as MANU RAMA angled in in to him on the outer . LAGOON MAC ended up towards the rear and was unable to improve thereafter and was referred to the vet for assessment where no abnormalities were found. CAWBOURNE GEORGE after striking the rail ran on well for 5th placing at the line and was referred to the vet for assessment where no abnormalities were found.
Race 8 PALAMOUNTAINS SCIENTIFIC NUTRITION C2/3 - C2/3 - 305 CAWBOURNE GIL ( fav ) was only fairly away from box 7. CAWBOURNE GIL was forced to race wide when improving on to the bend where he checked off the heels of SNOW BALL CHANCE. CAWBOURNE GIL lost some momentum when in the clear he angled down towards the rail but was too far back turning for home to get in to contention, he was observed to running on strong in the latter stages. BOTANY WIN was referred to the vet after receiving a small cut beside the left eye after examination no stand down required.
Race 9 KEENAN CONCRETE C4/5 - C4/5 - 305 All clear
Race 10 AON CPF C3 - C3 - 520 Soon after the start KIRKHAM HARVEY and OPAWA EXTREME came together jostling catching the heels of OPAWA JACKIE momentarily. Racing in to the bend on the first occasion ABSINTHE MINDED angled in across the face of FAST RIGBY who pushed in on to OPAWA JACKIE causing this runner to be tightened and checked back on to PREMIER DIVISION OPAWA EXTREME towards the rear in to the bend on the first occasion and was forced to race wide around the bend in to and along the back straight. OPAWA EXTREME covered a fair amount of extra ground during the running and finished in last placing at the line.
Race 11 INTERISLANDER C4/5 - C4/5 - 305 Racing away from the boxes LEDGERDEMAIN ran outwards on to CAWBOURNE STEVE and MAKING TIME checking these runners. As MAKING TIME was bumped outwards she caught the heels of SPEEDY BEAT momentarily.
Race 12 BOOK YOUR FUNCTION @ HATRICK C4 - C4 - 305 Soon after the start there was jostling between RAPPER DASH, CEASAR CHANCE, SUBIC BAY and VITI BAXTER, wider out FUNKY FREDDY ran in bumping HAPPY WIFE who ran in across the VITO BAXTER forcing him back across the face of SUBIC BAY who ran inwards bumping CEASAR CHANCE in to striking the rail. CEASAR CHANCE went back to the rear at this point. Racing on to the bend wider out HAPPY WIFE checked out off heels resulting in FUNKY FREDDY and ALLEGRO ALL GO being pushed out wide across the top bend. CEASAR CHANCE after striking the rail in to the first bend made good ground in to 4th placing at the line and was referred to the vet for assessment where no abnormalities were found. VITO BAXTER was referred to the vet after coming off the track and was found to be showing signs of being unwell a 10 day stand down was recommended.
