| Race 1 | Kolorful Kanvas Sprint - C3 - 295 | KNOW CONTEST was a late scratching at 9.45 am. This race was delayed one minute at the request of the TAB. COSTING MONEY (1) and GRAND APACHE (2) made contact in the early stages. Racing into the bend GRAND APACHE was heavily buffeted between OM NOM NOM (7) and COSTING MONEY causing it to lose ground. CANDYBOY (6) shifted outwards on the turn and made contact with the hind quarters of PATCHWORK ALICE (8) who was checked and lost ground which in turn hampered THUMB PRINT TONY (4). PATCHWORK ALICE was examined by the Veterinarian and found to have sustained a left shoulder injury with a seven day stand down imposed. |
| Race 2 | David Emerson Consultancy Dash - C3 - 295 | HOMEBUSH RILEY (9) shifted inwards and made contact with CAPTAIN SHAZZ (2) shortly after the start. HOMEBUSH RILEY, CAPTAIN SHAZZ and OHOKA COBY (5) were then checked when MISS FANNING (6) shifted inwards with THUNDER STORM (4) being inconvenienced and badly held up. Racing into the bend CAPTAIN SHAZZ became poorly positioned between MISS FANNING and WINE TIME (1) causing it to be checked and then have its hind quarters dragged down by the improving OHOKA COBY. In consequence THUNDER STORM and HOMEBUSH RILEY were further checked. A post race Veterinary examination of CAPTAIN SHAZZ showed the dog to have sustained no injury. STRUGGLE IS REAL (7) shifted wider leaving the bend. ADJUDICATOR (8) shifted outwards on the final bend and in the early stages of the run home and marred the running of STRUGGLE IS REAL. Stewards stood this dog down for 28 days and pending the completion of one satisfactory trial. |
| Race 3 | Thursday Place Pick Sprint - C4 - 295 | REPLAY (9) was very slow to begin. Soon after the start COLLECTING MONEY (4) moved inwards and bumped with CAWBOURNE DOZER (10). RICK'S TREASURE (7) shifted inwards abruptly over the early stages and made heavy contact with DINERO ACTION (3) who in turn contacted BO'S BUSINESS (2), costing both dogs momentum. |
| Race 4 | I Pave Concrete Sprint - C3 - 295 | OHOKA BILLY (4) was slow in the early stages. EXPECT DELAY (2), OHOKA BILLY (4), GOLDSTAR BOMBER (5) and BAD WEEK (6) were all crowded and then checked in the early stages when placed in restricted room between MAUDIE'S BABE (1) and TELL THE BOYS (7) who both shifted ground. MAUDIE'S BABE shifted outwards on the bend checking MAY MAY LAST (8) who lost its forward position. |
| Race 5 | Shirley Vet Clinic Stakes - C4/5 - 520 | BENJAMIN BLACK (4) was slow to begin. KAVA BLU (5) checked outwards off the heels of BOSTON BILLY (2) racing into the first bend and in doing so took DYNA VIKKERS (8) over extra ground. DYNA VIKKERS then shifted inwards and made contact with the improving OPAWA STRETCH (6). DYNA VIKKERS had to check outwards and away from the heels of CHIPPA LATA (1) leaving the final bend. A post race Veterinary examination was carried out on KAREN'S MAGIC (10) which revealed the bitch to have some lameness in it's right front leg with a 14 day stand down imposed. |
| Race 6 | Christchurch Casino Sprint - C5 - 295 | DREAM LARGE (6) began slowly. KNOW MAGIC (8) shifted inwards after the start and crowded ZEBEDIAH (7), PAPERBOND (5) and GUMP'S THE NAME (10). ZEBEDIAH and GUMP'S THE NAME then continued to jostle throughout the back straight. TEE TIME (3) was hampered by PAPERBOND racing into the first turn. DREAM LARGE shifted inwards on the bend and inconvenienced ZEBEDIAH with both dogs losing ground. |
| Race 7 | Super Pets Canterbury Futurity Heat 1 - R/Aq - 520 Heat 1 | RAEWYN (4) and KNOW HERO (6) came together on the first bend. ARCTIC ACTION (5) bumped with OPAWA O'GRADY (3) when assuming the lead entering the final straight. |
| Race 8 | Super Pets Canterbury Futurity Heat 2 - R/Aq - 520 Heat 2 | JINJA SQUEAK (7) and GOLDSTAR AVERY (2) were slow to begin. These dogs then collided shortly after the start. KNOW ANSWER (3) and KNOW NEGLECT (4) raced in restricted room in the early stages between MYSTIC ACTION (1) and FEKITOA (5). Racing into the bend OPAWA TRACY (8) shifted inwards and bumped with GOLDSTAR AVERY. OPAWA TRACY was then bumped outwards across the path of JINJA SQUEAK who was taken wide. Just prior to entering the back straight KNOW NEGLECT (4) was placed in tight quarters between MYSTIC ACTION and FEKITOA resulting in KNOW NEGLECT being checked and losing ground which impeded the progress of OPAWA JEMAINE (6). |
| Race 9 | Super Pets Canterbury Futurity Heat 3 - R/Aq - 520 Heat 3 | OPAWA BUCKS EYE (6) shifted inwards and made contact with JINJA JAFFA (5) in the early stages. OPAWA KNOCKA (8) made contact with the heels of GOLDSTAR PO (2) racing into the first bend causing that dog to shift outwards and hamper PATTY'S PICK (3) and KNOW DECISION (7) who were taken wider. |
| Race 10 | Super Pets Canterbury Futurity Heat 4 - R/Aq - 520 Heat 4 | PRIVATE ACTION (2) was briefly inconvenienced when positioned between JINJA ROMAN (1) and CRONOS (6) racing into the first bend. |
| Race 11 | Garden City Chem-Dry Dash - C5 - 295 | KERAMUS (1) was slow to begin. NO LEAF CLOVER (7) shifted inwards in the early stages and made contact with SHADOW APACHE (5). CULVIE GODFATHER (3) lost ground after being crowded between KERAMUS and AIDEN BAXTER (4) near the bend. KERAMUS shifted outwards on the bend and made contact with the heels of NO LEAF CLOVER who was impeded. AIDEN BAXTER and ABOUT TOWN (6) were also inconvenienced as a result of this outwards movement. |
| Race 12 | Protexin Dash - C4 - 295 | KNOW SALUTE (5) and HARKONEN BALE (3) were crowded in the early stages between MOJO BURST (2) and GORILLA ON DRUMS (7) who shifted ground. GORILLA ON DRUMS was checked on the bend as a result of racing in tight quarters between GOOD GENES (1) and TINA (8). MOJO BURST then shifted outwards which inconvenienced HARKONEN BALE who was taken wider onto KNOW SALUTE and BELLA GRACE (6) who were both checked. |
