Weather: Fine
Track: Good . Following on from the abandonment of the previous meeting due to a waterlogged track, the club has started extensive work to lay drainage pipes down on the inside of the track with channels for removal of surface water. This work is expected to be completed during February. For today's racing at the start of the day the track was dead and warm overhead conditions saw the track improve to good early in the programme.

Judicial report: Trainer J.Lane was fined $50 under the Minor Infringement Table for a breach of Rule 71.4 when failing to arrange a catcher for one of his greyhounds in Race 6.

Race 1	Otago GRC Maiden Sprint - C0 - 310	From the jump UNO NIGEL ran inwards from the No. 6 box tightening UNO MARCUS on his inside, with CHIPPY JORDAN also tightened from the No. 7 box by SOUTHERN MIST on his outer. In the run to the turn UNO MARCUS ran downwards checking UNO NATHAN. Into the turn UNO NIGEL struck the hind quarters of UNO MARCUS who was turned sideways and became unbalanced and was then forced outwards checking SOUTHERN MIST. On the turn EKALI ran wide checking the improving SOUTHERN MIST. In the straight short of the winning post EKALI shifted ground inwards checking UNO MARCUS.
Race 2	Brocklebanks Dry Cleaners Sprint - C1 - 310	APOLLO KING jumped awkwardly and lost momentum. Into the turn ANOTHER JAMIE ran inwards tightening KENTARO BAXTER and checking the trailing PUKEKO WARRIOR. On the turn ANOTHER JAMIE shifted ground inwards checking KENTARO BAXTER. On the turn and in the straight APOLLO KING ran wide.
Race 3	Speedprint Shop Stakes - C0 - 545	SLYNESS was slow to jump while OPAWA JANET bounded from the No. 1 box losing several lengths. From the jump OPAWA FAITH ran inward from the No. 5 box tightening RICH ACTION who was forced to check outwards and in turn checked SLYNESS. Into the first turn OCTAGONS GHOST, OPAWA JANET and SLYNESS all bumped losing momentum. On the first turn and into the back straight RICH ACTION was held up by LIGHT THAW and then OZARK'S WATCH when attempting to improve.
Race 4	Green Island Barber Sprint - C1 - 310	ALBIE MCLEOD was slow to jump. In the run to the turn THRILLING SHRIMP first bumped ALBIE MCLEOD and then rain inwards checking BRINDEE'S BRO. Into the turn ALBIE MCLEOD ran sharply inwards striking the running rail and then becoming unbalanced and falling with the trailing BRINDEE'S BRO severely checked and forced to jump over ALBIE MCLEOD losing considerable ground. ALBIE MCLEOD regained his feet to finish a long last and was subject to a veterinary check which revealed no abnormalities.
Race 5	www.greyhoundsaspets.org.nz - C1/2 - 310	ANOTHER KEY was slow to jump and was then tightened as TEPIRITA HENDRIX shifted ground inwards from the No. 6 box. into the turn BOTANY LIZ ran sharply inwards checking OPAWA LEIGH and HOMEBUSH SLINKY with both these runners losing ground. GIGANAIRE ran wide throughout the race.
Race 6	Brian Bagley Driver Licensing Stakes - C1 - 545	LA KINKS was slow to jump. Into the first turn OPAWA SMOKE ran outwards checking FRECKLE FLYER. On the first turn LA KINKS checked outwards off the heels of PIANISSIMO and HERITAGE WATCH was held up by FRECKLE FLYER.
Race 7	Bramwell Scaffolding Sprint - C1/2 - 310	OPAWA LEAN MEAT was slow to jump. From the jump TECHNIC shifted ground inwards from the No. 7 box tightening SALLY on his inner. In the run to the turn SAN SEBASTIAN ran outwards tightening JOEY BAXTER and then on the turn continued to run outwards dictating BADUZZI outwards and forcing the trailing OPAWA LEAN MEAT and SALLY wider on the track.
Race 8	President's Stakes - C3 - 310	DINERO ACTION bounded at the jump and lost momentum. On the turn DINERO ACTION ran outwards pushing LOTS OF BEERSIES wide.
Race 9	Dave Robbie Photographer Stakes - C2/3 - 545	Into the first turn KNOW MAYHEM ran inwards checking KNOW SECURITY who was then forced outwards checking PUKEKO BOLT with GOLDSTAR COCO also badly checked becoming unbalanced and running wide on the track losing all chance. On the first turn ZIPPING SONNY was tightened between PUKEKO BOLT and KNOW SECURITY and was then forced to check outwards losing ground.
Race 10	St Kilda Veterinary Centre Sprint - C3 - 310	JINJA PISTOL was slow to jump while THUNDER STORM scrambled from the No. 1 box losing momentum. On the turn JINJA PISTOL shifted ground inwards tightening STORMING NORM and PUNCH ON JAIME was forced to check outwards off the heels of OM NOM NOM losing momentum.
Race 11	Otago Daily Times Sprint - C5 - 310	OPAWA OPAL was very slow to jump and lost several lengths. Into the turn HOMEBUSH RUFUS lost momentum when checking off the heels of HOMEBUSH KELSO.
Race 12	Racing Again Tuesday 16th February - C3/4 - 310	HUMAN INSTINCT was slow to jump. In the run to the turn ABRASADOR ran inwards bumping with OPAWA CRUSADE and then was tightened when HOMEBUSH CHOPPER ran inwards.
