Rounding the bend OPAWA PERISSA (4) lost momentum when tight to the inside of UNO NIGEL (6) which shifted inwards. JINJA SNAG (8) raced wide rounding the bend into the straight. OPAWA PERISSA ran very wide in the straight. |
| Race 2 | Shirley Vet Clinic Sprint - C0 - 295 | JINJA BRIAN (7) was slow to begin. SOUTHERN BLUE (6) began awkwardly. SOUTHERN BLUE and RICH ACTION (5) jostled for a short distance after the start.Shortly thereafter SPEEDY DISPATCH (8) shifted inwards and made firm contact with SOUTHERN BLUE which became unbalanced and lost ground.Into the bend RALLY SARIOUS (9) was hampered when in tight quarters. | Race 9 | David Emerson Consultancy Dash - C2 - 295 | HARDEN FASTER (4) was slow to begin .Into the bend VINNY VINDALOO (7) and WILL EXCITE came together and made heavy contact, resulting in VINNY VINDALOO losing ground . OPAWA LEIGH (8) made the bend awkwardly running wider in the straight. VINNY VINDALOO was referred to the club veterinarian which revealed a right wrist injury ,with a 21 day stand down imposed. When questioned over the improved performance of winner OM NOM NOM (9) Stewards were informed the runner had benefited from an uncontested lead and being recently downgraded . |
| Race 10 | Fast Archer At Stud Stakes - C2 - 520 | KNOW WORTH (6) was very slow to begin.Shortly after the start OPAWA PAUL (4) shifted inwards and jostled for some distance with JINJA ROMAN (4).Into the first bend JIBBAJABBA JEWEL (5) was tightened and dragged down losing all chance when JINJA LOCH (8) and UGO FLASH (2) shifted ground. KNOW WORTH was forced over extra ground as a result . JIBBAJABBA JEWEL was referred to the vet and found to have hock pain. |
