Weather: Raining
Track: Heavy .With continual persistent rain during the meeting the track was downgraded to slushy after Race 7 prior to abandonment.
Scales: Correct at all weights
Health and Safety comment: After Race 9 penotrometer readings on the track reached unacceptably high levels, being sloppy and at a depth likely to cause safety concerns for animals with the meeting duly abandoned at this stage.

Judicial report: Heavy and persistent rainfall saw exemptions to dress regulations to cope with the extremely inclement conditions. It began raining shortly after the start of the meeting and became heavier and persistent after 2.00pm. Prior to the meeting there had been 18mm and 17mm of rain that fell in two days. The track was downgraded to slushy and heavy as racing progressed. On the bends there were of pools of water, and in the straight the inside running was a long pool of water up to 5cm+ deep. With the ground waterlogged from previous days’ rain there was no run-off and the rain was heavy and continuous. In race 9 there was an injury which the veterinary surgeon advised he believed consistent with slipping on the track. After consultation and checks on the penotremeter levels Stipendiary Stewards had concerns for the welfare of animals and, acting in accordance with Rule 38.3.s, the balance of the meeting after race 9 - five races - was abandoned at approximately 3.40pm.

Race 1	Otago GRC Maiden Stakes - C0 - 545	OZARK'S WATCH and ROOKIE RACER were slow to jump. Shortly after the jump OPAWA FAITH was tightened between FRECKLE FLYER and OCTAGONS GHOST. Into the first turn OPAWA FAITH was checked when FRECKLE FLYER shifted ground inwards. SOME EXCITEMENT checked outwards across the heels of RICH ACTION and dictated OZARK'S WATCH and ROOKIE RACER very wide on the track with these three runners losing all chances. At the top of the first bend RICH ACTION briefly stumbled when clipping the heels of OPAWA FAITH.
Race 2	Brocklebanks Dry Cleaners Stakes - C1/2 - 545	PUKEKO BOLT was very slow to jump and lost several lengths. In the run to the first turn GOLDSTAR COCO ran outwards dictating PIANISSIMO wide and checking PUKEKO BOLT on her outer. On the first turn PIANISSIMO ran wide. Into the straight NO TINKERBELL ran outwards checking GOLDSTAR COCO. When questioned about the improved performance of the winner THORACIC trainer JT McInerney advised that he expected a forward showing after he had been disappointed with the dog's previous start at Forbury Park which was the dog's first start at this venue.
Race 3	Speedprint Shop Sprint - C1 - 310	OPAWA BLAIR scrambled at the jump and was then tightened when CAWBOURNE HINT ran outwards. Into the turn REGALYN clipped the heels of OPAWA BLAIR with both dogs losing momentum.
Race 4	Green Island Barber Sprint - C1 - 310	APOLLO KING was slow to jump. From the jump RIO ACTION ran inwards from the No. 7 box dictating ALBIE MCLEOD inwards on his inner, with ALBIE MCLEOD bumping DEBORAH BAY. Into the turn DEBORAH BAY scrambled and became unbalanced when striking the rear of RIO ACTION and lost all chance. On the turn ALBIE MCLEOD dictated APOLLO KING wide on the track.
Race 5	Racing Series Novice Final - NZRSf - 545	OPAWA JEMAINE bounded at the start and lost several lengths. Into the first turn PATTY'S PICK checked outwards and ran wide after bumping KNOW STYLE, and OPAWA O'GRADY checked across the heels of OPAWA MINSTREL and ran wide on the turn.
Race 6	www.greyhoundsaspets.org.nz - C1 - 545	Into the first turn WAR CLOAK checked across the heels of LA KINKS and ran wide on the track. Into the straight HERITAGE WATCH and TAMARA MAY bumped and lost momentum.
Race 7	Bramwell Scaffolding Sprint - C2 - 310	In the run to the turn HARDEN FASTER was tightened between runners and lost momentum. Into the straight HARDEN FASTER struck the hind quarters of CHICAGO BLACK who was turned sideways with both dogs losing ground.
Race 8	Otago Daily Times Sprint - C3 - 310	UNO BRENT was scratched without penalty under Rule 64.6 with a change of trainer notified. From the jump RED MARGIN ran outwards from the No. 3 box checking KINGMAN and LOTS OF BEERSIES on her outside. Into the turn HOMEBUSH SLINKY was checked and when RED MARGIN shifted ground downwards with KINGMAN held up and LOTS OF BEERSIES dictated outwards as a result.
Race 9	Brian Bagley Driver Licensing Sprint - C2 - 310	CABARITA was a late scratching at kennelling when found to have an infected toe with a 5 day stand down recommended. Into the turn THRILLING HUNT faltered and finished a distant last with the greyhound referred to the vet for assessment.
