Health and Safety comment: Due to the extremely warm weather dogs were monitored by the on-course Veterinarian race by race regarding the welfare of racing in such hot conditions.Also, the Club's policy regarding handler's wearing of Ties and Scarves was relaxed.

Judicial report: OPAWA STELLA (Lane & Wales) which was late scratched at Southland GRC on 5 January, was checked by Veterinarian D Matheson on 10 January in the presence of a Stipendiary Steward and found to be free of injury. As a result the stand down imposed on the day is now rescinded as per Rule 81.5.

Trainers S Hindson (OUR JOHN - up 1.6kgs), J Tanner (JINJA WILLY - up 1.6kgs & MOBILIZE - up 1.7kgs), I Fensom (PRIVATE AGENDA up 1.7kgs) and A McCook/ J Jopson (MR. NOVEMBER - up 2.8kgs & ARCHIES DIJON up 2.4kgs) were all issued Minor Infringement Notices and fined $100.00 for presenting their respective dogs up from there last recorded racing weight.

Race 1	Super Pets Sprint - C1 - 295	JINJA WILLY (5) and RIO ACTION (6) came together through the early stages. LUCAS SCOTT (2) was obliged to check off the heels of JINJA WILLY when racing into the first bend with this forcing RIO ACTION up the track.
Race 2	C.T.V. Dash - C1 - 295	KNOW FAVOURS (6) was awkwardly placed to the inside of OPAWA VIV (7) when racing into the bend resulting in it having to check off heels and severely inconvenience MR. NOVEMBER (4). KNOW FAVOURS was subjected to a post-race veterinary examination revealing no injury. PETRA HAKA (1) was obliged to check off the heels of OPAWA VIV rounding the bend and in doing so bumped with HOMEBUSH JUSTINE (2).
Race 3	Greyhounds As Pets Sprint - C1 - 295	KABLITZ (5) came inwards at the start contacting GRIFINATOR (4) before continuing down the track inconveniencing MAJOR BLOODNOK (2). BELFAST EEJIT (7) crowded the racing room of KABLITZ when racing into the bend resulting in KABLITZ having to check with PRIVATE AGENDA (6) severely inconvenienced and JINNO GINO (3) falling to the track. A post-race veterinary examination of JINNO GINO revealed no injury. BELFAST EEJIT was then placed in restricted room and lost ground when racing between MAJOR BLOODNOK and FERAL COASTER (8) with this obliging KABLITZ up the track.
Race 4	Addington Events Centre Dash - C1 - 295	SUMMER LOVE (3) was placed in restricted room and lost ground when racing into the bend with UNRELIABLE ANDY (8) being slightly inconvenienced. UNO MARGUERITE (1) and BROOKE DAVIS (6) jostled when racing into the bend.
Race 5	Angler's Arms Tavern Stakes - C1 - 520	MEGA VOLT (3) was slow to jump. CAWBOURNE EDEN (4) was awkwardly placed to the outside of LAGOON TWIST (2) when racing into the bend with GO TOMMO (6) having to change ground and race wide before struggling to maintain its position with the field. A post-race veterinary examination revealed this dog to be suffering from cramp. CAWBOURNE EDEN and CAWBOURNE OHIO (8) came together when racing round the first bend.
Race 6	Glenbyre Tavern Dash - C1 - 295	MIGHTY MAC (1), HOMEBUSH MESSI (10/4) and ANOTHER ZIRCON (8) were all marginally slow to jump. COUNTRY CROSSING (7) raced awkwardly and wide entering the home straight.
Race 7	Garden City Chem-Dry Sprint - C1 - 295	REDLINE ACTION (6) and GLENN IS GOODESY (8) were both late to leave the boxes. NOT BAD (9/2) was dragged down by REDLINE ACTION rounding the turn which caused an inconvenience to JACKS A JEWEL (4) and HOMEBUSH BRUNO (8) who both had to race wide. A post-race veterinary examination of NOT BAD showed no injury. When questioned regarding the improved performance of the winner HAYLEY JAMES kennel representative A Waretini explained the the bitch had been freshened since its most recent run and had not had luck during the running in its most recent starts. She added that the work of HAYLEY JAMES had been pleasing leading up to today's assignment and as such she was not surprised by the performance.
Race 8	Little Brown Jug Dash - C1 - 295	WALLY BAXTER (1) came outwards bumping SAL'S BABE (2) outwards onto KINLOCH ACTION (4) who inturn bumped HIP HOP SOFIA (7). Racing into the bend FERAL HELEN (8) faltered and lost ground with a subsequent veterinary examination revealing a torn gracilis requiring a 28 day stand down. SKILLZ TAYLOR (6) was held up for racing room rounding the turn.
Race 9	Christchurch Casino Stakes - C1 - 520	CAWBOURNE KIN (8) was slow to jump and then raced wide down the back straight. PROTONIC PEDRO (2) was placed in restricted room when entering the first bend and lost ground. LAGOON MYTYE (3) and CRYSTAL FLAME (6) came together rounding the first bend. When questioned regarding the improved performance of LONG STOCKINGS kennel representative P Seque advised the bitch had lost its confidence from a fall three starts ago. Mr Seque added that the bitch had benefited from a freshen up and her work and trials leading into today had been pleasing.
Race 10	Mac Developments Sprint - C1 - 295	MINIMAL (2) was slow to begin. BLAZING HOT (5) had to check to the outside of BADUZZI (7) shortly after the start. GOLDSTAR CHYNA (1) was placed in restricted room and had to check outwards bumping with VERBATIM (4) when racing into the bend.
Race 11	Bill's Bar & Bistro Dash - C1 - 295	UNO JAMES (5) and CAWBOURNE HINT (7) were both slow to jump and came together once settling. HAT TRICK CHAOS (2) was tightened for racing room by MISS JOLT (3) when racing into the bend. UNO JAMES raced wide around the bend. ANOTHER SPIN (1) evaded its handler at the lure for some time.
Race 12	Snow-E, Muscle, Energy & Fertility Sprint - C1 - 295	ARCHIES DIJON (8) came down the track while racing to the first bend causing MOBILIZE (5) to check and lose ground and then causing FANCY ACTION (4) down onto BIGTIME TIP (2) who also lost ground. ANOTHER VESPA (7) became awkwardly placed to the back of PEYTON SAYER (6) entering the bend. ANOTHER VESPA and TAMASKA (3) came together when leaving the bend. FANCY ACTION (4) came outwards onto ARCHIES DIJON entering the home straight.
