Track: Dead The track was inconsistant on first inspection by the Stewards with a soft area adjacent to the rail in some parts of the track. Scheduled trials were postponed until after the meeting to allow the Track Staff time to work on the surface and with the assisstance of a good drying breeze, a good track was presented for the first race.

Health and Safety comment: Nil

Judicial report: T.Pilcher the Trainer of BOSTON THUNDER was fined $ 100-00 under the provisions of Rule 69.11 when the dog was presented 1.7 kilograms over its last start weight on 21.12.15. SPRINGVALE HARRY completed a satisfactory trial which was required under the provisions of Rule 80.1 and is now cleared to race.

Race 1	Formpro Ratings Free Every Monday C0 - C0 - 375	NOT LISTENING began awkwardly losing ground and he settled back and stayed there throughout the race. PACIFIC VIBE and BLACK ROADSTAR bumped together soon after the start and they were unbalanced briefly and lost a length. MISS HOOK raced wide over extra ground after starting from box 8 and she finished in last place.
Race 2	Greyhounds As Pets C1 - C1 - 375	CAWBOURNE MARTIN shifted in from the start and caused crowded HOMEBUSH NAKI in onto OPAL JEWEL which was severely checked and fell but regained her feet and finished onto the lure. OPAL JEWEL was referred to the vet for assessment and cleared of injury. MCJOPSON was bumped from the inside going into the bend and lost two lengths and she then went off stride in the home straight and finished several lengths last and was referred to the Vet for assessment and found to have a hind leg injury.
Race 3	J P Print, Petone C2 - C2 - 375	GOODTIME MIKE and DOWNGRADE KING jostled together going to the first corner and GOODTIME MIKE became unbalanced and shifted out across the heels of DOWNGRADE KING and lost five lengths and all chance. WEE DIGER raced very wide on the bend and into the home straight covering extra ground.
Race 4	Affordable Pet Accessories C1 - C1 - 457	All clear.
Race 5	Buck Fever At Stud C2 - C2 - 375	CAWBOURNE GABLE and NIKKA CENTURY were slow to begin losing three lengths. GUMMY GUMPSTA shifted out to race wide on the bend and forced HOMEBUSH DAWN and NIKKA CENTURY to shift out and they covered extra ground as a result.
Race 6	Shakey Jakey At Rocky Ridge C3 - C3 - 375	WHEELIE RASCAL shifted out and SEMANTICS shifted in from the start and this resulted in checks to CAWBOURNE GEORGE, VINNIE BAXTER and SHINZIGZAG which all lost ground and settled back. WHEELIE RASCAL continued to shift out going into the bend and forced VINNIE BAXTER and SEMANTICS to race very wide on the bend covering extra ground and they finished in the last three places.
Race 7	Manawatu Harness Racing Club C1/2 - C1/2 - 457	SHERIFF ROSCOE was the slowest to begin and settled at the rear where he stayed throughout the race and finished in last place.
Race 8	wheeldeal.co.nz C4 - C4 - 375	BIG BOY DENO dwelt at the start and settled back. FUNKY FREDDY and RED MOOVA HOOVA bumped and were briefly unbalanced soon after the start. CAWBOURNE MIDGET shifted in across the line of ANGVELLA going into the bend causing a check to that runner which fell. BIG BOY DENO was hampered in the incident and lost momentum briefly. ANGVELLA was referred to the Vet for assessment and found to have mild bruising.
Race 9	Outback Trading Company C5 - C5 - 375	FREEDOM FLYER shifted in abruptly from the start and caused checks to NERO, SEDGEBROOK BABE, CAWBOURNE STEVE and CAESAR CHANCE which all lost ground with SEDGEBROOK BABE and CAWBOURNE STEVE the most affected and they stayed back to finish in the last two places.
Race 10	Preston's Master Butchers C3/4 - C3/4 - 457	PREMIER DIVISION, ANOTHER HABIT and SHEER MISS jostled together for a short distance going into the bend and SHEER MISS and ANOTHER HABIT lost ground and finished near the rear.
Race 11	R/A Middle Distance - R/A - 457	KAPUTSKI and CAWBOURNE SATIN were the slowest away from the boxes and lost three lengths. KAPUTSKI then shifted out to race wide for the entire race and finished in last place.
Race 12	Juvenile Sprint - SPECA - 375	VIVA LA VIXEN and ASTERIA shared the lead going into the bend but they jostled together and both lost ground with VIVA LA VIXEN the most affected and he went back to last. VIVA LA VIXEN then raced wide covering extra ground and finished in last place.
Race 13	Paul Claridge Electrical C1 - C1 - 375	CAWBOURNE PIRATE went up with the box lids and lost five lengths at the start and NO MORE MARMITE was also slow to begin. HOMEBUSH STEW shifted in abruptly from the start and dictated the line of BLACKIE CHAN, SHELLY MCBELL and MIGHTY BA BA and they were hampered and lost several lengths.
Race 14	Brooks Timing C1 - C1 - 375	MR .ZAFONIC shifted in abruptly going to the first corner and bumped PREMIER PRINCE which was unbalanced and shifted out onto WORBOYS which was forced very wide over extra ground.
